- Blockappend First Look - it's a fun little puzzle game that's coming out in March this year. Shoutout to the dev for sending me an early access key and making a game that's fun to play. It's the simple things in life.

I'm glad that our generation is able to grow with bloxorz
Same
69 likes. Nice
U can still access it on friv
@@keesvdb time to play friv
Im glad that I was able tp grow with it.
The fact you didnt fall while being on nothing just proves you have a power to defy gravity
I was thinking the same thing! Like hey that illegal.
And also supports the fact that this is secretly a AAA title from 2022
i’m living up to my name. “Actually, less than half is off the edge”
pls no 🤓 emojis
I don't like the way they flip 180 in the air though without using the short edge. Maybe if there was bigger (filled) gaps in between floor tiles for the short edge to use it would be more satisfying to look at. Alternatively they could be thinner, but that would probably look strange.
it feels super unnatural cuz it logically can’t be turning on its edge, bloxorz made a lot more sense
@@shfjhfddududhd150 Yeah, if you look closely you can see it slide a bit when it rotates. Increasing the space between the tiles would definitely make it feel more natural.
I had to slow down the video to see, but yeah that does look wrong
I agree that it feels weird, but honestly changing that would change the entire puzzle. Maybe they could add flipping 90 degrees in some kind of second world or something like that
I agree. The puzzles look super interesting though, so having only 2 sides makes sense.
Maybe a combination of both your suggestions would work. Making the tiles half as thick, with solid gaps in between that match the thickness so it can roll over them.
A visual rework regarding this would definitely put the game on my wishlist as it's my only real complaint.
It may seem like a minor point, but puzzle games need to feel satisfying imo.
0:55 ah yes, standing on the void to rotate your piece, classic.
Now THIS is how to be the spiritual successor! The same "ohhhhh" moments I had from back in the coolmath games era of games are everywhere in this game and I love it
Oh good my puzzling childhood has returned in a fresh new neon-ish look. Keep up the great content as always!
The game's soundtrack along with your commentary was nothing less than perfect
Hey I appreciate it! This is Blockappend's title theme. If you're into it, we have it up on streaming services too. Matt Grazier - Flow State
The piece turning with the void as the pivot kinda fucks me up. Despite the animation, the game only checks the destination and source not the in betweens. I wonder why the dev chose to ignore that
The pieces jump from start to end position; they cannot physically rotate on their edges to get there
It's early access.....
@@the4spaceconstantstetraqua886 I believe that these puzzles and game mechanics should be well established… I wouldn’t want to be working on a game where it was unclear how the player moved
@@the4spaceconstantstetraqua886 ok and?
It seemed that the void wasn't killing you because you were in the middle, but because when it destroyed that tile, each new section was of equal size. None of them were the biggest and so it would consider it a loss for the reason you said: it doesn't know which one to make you control
The thing that bloxors had, that this is lacking, is the ability to stand your block on its end and actually use the 3rd dimension. There's no way to change rotation with this, it's just straight flipping.
Can’t say I ever expected to see a Chainsaw Man panel used in an Aliensrock video, but tbf I never expected to see a Bloxorz successor and have it be so cool
lol he solves the last puzzle and then unsolves it cuz he doesn't believe in himself right at the finish line, classic puzzle game move
8:36 that’s when I realized you could try and map a 3x3 grid, and then I realized you’re not stuck to 3 space movements
I will say that although this introduces a new concept in the adding extra squares, it loses depth in the movement options, bloxorz allows you to go on the next end 90 degrees, while this is only 180 flips, meaning in this game you are effectively restricted to a movement grid, the dimensions of your player, which changes when you add squares. In bloxorz, that movement grid changes scale every move, and the 90 degrees allows you to rotate the the grid by standing on your end and falling a different direction. Still interesting but bloxorz I feel is not completely obsolete due to its unique quirks.
4:50 would be cool if devs make this a secret area there or something
god, i love this new editor slapping tyler's face into random places every time he says "hey guys, tyler here"
I remember grinding bloxorz to completion during class, good times.
Bloxorz is the game that got me into puzzles
Hey guys, Tyler here
I could hear his voice
Hey Tyler, Guys here
Tyler guys, hey here
Hey here, Tyler guys
Here Tyler, guys hey
Just isnt the same without the crimson blood backround that just gave me an offputting eerie feeling as a kid
2:50 He zoomin
Those are some super satisfying puzzles to see being solved!
I would most definitely not be opposed to watching more of this
My bloxorz thinking is completely thrown off with the ability to cross gaps
This is an example of actually improving the base concept of the game. You don't need a really original idea, if you can improve the existing one.
This is honestly one of the most relaxing video i have ever seen
I loved bloxorz so much in elementary/middle school
I was thinking of doing a project like this myself, man nailed the concept and had amazing puzzles
Tyler: "Ahh that's clever!"
Me: "Wtf just happened?"
bro bloxorz was THE school game, coolmathgames bloxorz just hit different
10'30 Houston, we've got a parity issue…
While similarities to Bloxorz are undeniable (and loved), It's very important to notice that the added complexity to the size and shape of the body here in Blockappend utilizes a simple yet crucial puzzle mechanic in the games movement system. And while this was in theory present in Bloxorz, it had never been used beyond any basic extent leaving it heavily underutilized in that game, which I had always found very unfortunate.
And when I say always, I really mean it. I remember beating Bloxorz in the school computer lab way back at the age of 6 or so, everyone else was watching because none of them had gotten close to the end of the game, much less completing it. I finish the last level, the final screen comes up, and my first reaction was just one of confusion.
"Wait, that's it? No 1x3's or 2x2's?". I was still sitting there, expecting there to be at least 40% more levels to go through, meanwhile everyone around me is going absolutely nuts over my victory, like a group of college students in a frat house watching their team win the super bowl.
I am still left feeling some parts underwhelmed and some parts disappointed to this day at 22. But now I have a chance to remedy that. I WILL buy this game, and I WILL beat it. No, it's not going to be my greatest achievement, but it will be the end of something that I've long since yearned to complete, like the final chapter to a novel left unfinished for far longer than it should have been.
Day 50 of asking Tyler to cosplay as a Peglin for his loyal fans
The race car edit cracked me up
When it's hanging on the edge, it feels kinda off, especially as a 1x2. It feels kinda arbitrary when it will fall and when it won't. It's like it's trying to be physics, but not really.
I'd adore if Aliensrock would be willing to play The Talos Principal. I think it's my favorite puzzle game.
he played that already tho
This looks really interesting.
I hope the actual term for that becomes "pancaking"
reminds me of the game Edge. one of my favorite games
Tyler's so analytically intelligent (and in other ways), it's crazy; The way he catches onto random puzzle games is insane
Ok this is very strange, I just watched your Bloxorz video yesterday 😂
Certified Tyler classic
Bloxorz, but more complex
10:13 that reference came out of nowhere LMAO
Santa kicker 2023 😂
I remember a tile based action puzzle game where you get a ball into a hole by building towers and ramps to roll it in, and I can't for the life of me remember its name.
That game was fun to sucks I can't remember it either
Isoball?
@@karanrime8948 yeah that's it
this comment made me remember WhizzBall, though that doesn't seem to be what you were referring to
ISOBALL! You can still play it using Flashpoint (flash game preservation project)
kinda makes me want a 2023 version of orbox :o
W video tyler, bloxorz is gasss
now the next generation will bear a whole new level of flash games as their childhood mantle
Babe wake up,new Tyler video just dropped
Strangely satisfying
The way the blocks flip hurts my brain
THheehfukcignn.... the car racing gag must've taken so much effort but it made me wheeze so hard...
It also reminds me of devil dice a bit as well.
i almost want to see a TAS of this game :>
"I like squares"
- Aliensrock, 2023
for some reason the way it falls very rapidly and just goes limp is incredibly funny to me
Since you seemed to enjoy myst, you might like 7th guest and 11th hour, if you can find them, just don't expect very much with the ending
I remember you playing bloxors like a year ago
when you roll, unlike the Bloxorz, you flip *180 degrees* as opposed to 90, and you rotate around an axis that is on the center of a side instead of a corner against the ground.
very cool game!
I played bloxsorz like, a couple months ago
How TF does it flip off of nothing?!? At least bloxorz made some physics sense.
Puzzle mechanics
nostalgic game
You know you don’t have to reset it every time your 1 block off you just have to move around a little
Awesome.
Bloxorz is a amazing game
Hot dam, how is he soo fast??
If its available march 1st thats my birthday 😎
"I like Squares"
:)
Imagine not being made in 2023
Have you played Kline? I feel like Kline is also like Bloxorz, and it’s a really good underrated puzzle game!
Did you mean Kine?
@@Person.1234 Autocorrect :P yeah Kine.
You lose with the void block when you lose your ORIGINAL orange block.
(i think)
You should give Yugo Puzzle a whirl
A slight difference that might throw off the Bloxorz mindset is that there is no "up-right" positioning.
i am going to love watching this
Not playing, with this type of games i devolve in to brute forcing till i solve it or get frustrated wherever happens first
10:14 bruh? Chainsaw man?
This implies that bloxorz wasn't the peak of gaming already
There's gotta be at least one person who calls this Bloxorz 2.
ALSO, Hey guys, *_Tyler here._*
I love squares
dammit i wanna eat those orange tiles they look tastey
Yesterday I hadn't slept at all, when I looked at this title I read is as "what if roblox was made in 2023"..... *where the fck did I see roblox* XD?
I also like squares
It's out!!!
Nice
I have an idea, this + hole in the wall
You should play dwarf fortress
10:14 chainsaw man is canon in the channel
COOLMATHGAMES YESSSSSS
This game looks like bloxors but the movement is different enough that it’s aggravating my bloxors instincts
Ah yes. Just in time for bed.
❕❕❕
Nobody
Coolmath enjoyers:
A bloxorz video in this economy?? Sounds about right.
editors just like me fr fr
Bloxorz is 16 years old!
oh god... it's 2023...
I played a very similar game as a mobile game
It’s been less than 5 minutes and he already broke the game.
"Gotta figure out how much I want to dangle" 😏
