Did this 18 months ago to my rifle and it’s still holding up that spray paint is some good stuff, just got a 12 gauge yesterday and I’m going to copy you!😂
Man that looks really good dude .... I'm buying a citadel this weekend I'ma do this process to make it my dedicated turkey gun ... I wrapped a maverick 88..... But I'm digging this man gr8 job
Awesome video! I have a question for you. Did you disassemble the shotgun to the point where you could take out the trigger group, and then reassemble without that and the internals?
You’ve probably got and answer but it looks like he just took the trigger off since the maverick 88s forend needs to be held in place by the bolt and bolt plate
I saw this video and bought a beater 500 for the sole purpose of doing the same thing minus the camo (primer, paint, stocking, paint, clear coat). No rust on my 500 but would you recommend cleaning it with brake cleaner or similar prior to the primer?
Do you have to worry about rust if you leave it in the truck again like before, or does the paint keep it safe? also when you clean the thing, do you do anything differently on account of the paint?
The paint will give some protection, but always try to keep it dry regardless. Moisture can make its way in the tiniest spots that you may have been missed.
Great job. In the future always cover all the primer. Primer is porous and meant for paint to adhere to it. Lay your base black coat completely then add your other colors. Primer is not paint it will pull water through to the surface.
You don't even need primer for most of these modern spray paints. I'm pretty sure those exact cans say "designed to bond to difficult surfaces including metal, vinyl, etc"

Looks AMAZING man! Great work you should be proud! Edit: Can you label the colors you used? I just want to verify.

Are you near seminole Manor lantana? It looked like the neighborhood I grew up in.
Nope! St. Pete, FL.
A month into it have you shot it yet how's the paint handle the wear and tear
It's been shot and still a great paint job!

beauty
Thank you!
You could have used a brass brush and oil to get that rust off without removing so much blueing
@@josuevargas6649 good to know for next time. Thank you!

Thanks for the tip! Haven't had any issues with the pain yet.
Does the paint tear when you reload it
Hasn't so far!
Eres un artista. Bravo!!
