@@verstappen9937 the blast doors are not open for the entire reload only about 3 seconds at most. There is a pedal at the loaders foot to open the doors and they close when the round comes out

The ammo in the magazine is seperated from the crew and turret. the armored doors will only open for a second when the loader takes a round When the magazine gets hit, the ammo is contained inside said magazine. If the ammo catches fire and cooks off, it will propel the flames outward trough the magazine roof (as seen in the video). Its like a rupture disc. If the ammo explodes, the entire section is designed to vent the explosion OUTWARDS towards the rear and top of the tank, not frontally. Thus significantly increasing the tank crew survivability. The leopard 2 in syria showed that the system works. Both the frontal hull and turret blowout panels increased crew survivability.
The fact that it's happening while reloading, makes me believe that the loader was still unloading a shell from the rack while the blast door is opened.
He was hit in turret,and M1 has blowout panel in case ammo detonation. In joint exercise around Ramstein, a M1 Gunner told me that they had 2 spare round on lower hull in case of cookoff and a single enemy armour left.

this is why i take full ammo load on m1a1 and m1a2 not on the 105 cause for some reason they decided to put 3 ammo on the darn center those last 6 ammo on the hull is less likely to be hit since enemy will just aim at the center mass mostly and the hull ammo also have blowout if hit in angle (although its hard if this happens early on since you will be almost useless for your team if your dont have a cap close to you although my biggest question is why does my engine is also on fire (and this applies even when they hit my ammo while having my turret pointed sideways) i know you dont have to use FPE for it but the engine fire FX is still there which it shouldn't be and last but not the least why does leopard 2a4/5/6's blowout panel wont work? (many times ive been killed by 90 degree ammo rack hit from enemy, and even killed leos by ammo racking it in the turret from the side (note replay shows i only hit ammo and didnt hit the bulkhead so no breach occurred)

i just got my Leopard 2A5 and i hated how unfortunate i was once, i got my ammo cooked off and decided to use FPE about 5 seconds after that, of course FPE doesnt extinguish the ammorack so then my engien caught on fire and i had to wait for my FPE to cool down and i am not sure why gaijin decided to put a cool down on something you should have ready to grab in your tank at all times but either way after my cooldown i then extinguished my burning engine to prevent my crew from turning medium rare but gaijin sad "nuh-uh" and my ammorack put my engine back on fire ;-; I hope I am not the only one who finds that the engine shouldn't get put on fire from an ammo compartment burning down which isnt even connected to the engine?

I think you'd still be pretty dead, this was within 2 ish seconds after firing, the loader would probably have had the door to the bussel open, the pressure and heat, though brief, would still probably have been enough. Still, neat it saved you!
