Straight up, I roll withSpitfire Audio, because they gave away all of those Labs for free, then Christian with the PianoBook, that's why I shop with them, my wife surprised me at Christmas with something from Spitfire, funny thing I was doing R&B,became very bored with it, discovered Oliver's music and its so dope, and these sample libraries .Spitfire has changed my musical direction, I mean I'm a 55 year old African American, playing piano sine Iwas in 5th grade, you know my old ass looking for something else, lol, Oliver I know music, and Brother you have something special, oh by the way I use my free Labs more than any other library I have , besides London Contemporary Strings, and Olafurs Chamber Evo, thanks.
James Cornelius I love hearing this. I’m 44 and recently discovered a new genre of music I’m passionate about. Never too late!
Dear James, this is a very touching message and means a lot to me and everyone at Spitfire! So good to hear that we were able to inspire you and your musical undertakings. I hope you are keeping well and looking forward to hearing your music! Much love, Ox
I have major Spitfire Libraries, but the Lab sounds are often the ones that pull the whole project together...
@@portelgate9489 I never experienced one...
I LOVE labs soft piano, I use it all the time
Same
same!
It literally turned my midi keyboard into a real piano 🥹 im in love with it
Olafur Arnalds Grand Felt Piano!
...all the way!
@@OliverPatriceWeder Always! Love that piano
What an amazing comparison. I think what scares me most is that Oliver's first language is not English but he is able to articulate better in his speech than I ever could! Such an amazingly talented man.
Geez, wish I'd know about the sale. Those are amazing!
I always feel inspired while hearing these soft and deep pianos, they're fantastic! My gratitude for providing us free VST libraries like Spitfire labs is boundless.
I use Keyscape. But Olafur Arnalds piano is a must have !
This was fantastic and very inspirational. Thank you Oliver!
I envy you to have all these wonderful pianos. :)
Too many options can be difficult too sometimes ;)
Thank you for watching and commenting!! Oliver x
3 things. This is EPIC. I freaking love Spitfire. I had no idea that soft piano was so famous!!
I know I'm a philistine, but I don't get the felt piano thing at all. I just want the best sounding grand piano sound, not a muffled one with wooden impact artifacts. What I'm hoping for, is the Orchestral Grand Piano to be made into a stand alone instrument. I have no intention of buying Kontakt.
You can check Spectrasonics Keyscape
Same here, I just want an Originals Grand Piano
Same. This is boring and powerless to me. Firewood, on the other hand, is a real gem.
Christian with the PianoBook, yes, and they have given us
the Decent Sampler which opens so many free sampled pianos
utterly gorgeous felt
I love the sound of the orchestral grand piano in the demo tracks. However there is no way I am buying Kontakt at £359 so I can use a £49 piano instrument. If it was made compatible with the free Kontakt player or made into a stand-alone instrument I'd be all over it on my very next payday. Why haven't either of those been done?
Thanks Oliver great video makes things very clear, think at some point I need to buy the Han Zimmer piano, but will have to wait a while. Take care, be safe and healthy, best wishes Terry
the felt piano sounds good!
Thanks for this overview! 👏
I think the Hans Zimmer is the best pick to combine with a silent piano / grand piano. I want to play also in the evening when my kids are in bed. I want to have a "close as you can get" to a real piano. Sadly you need to have a powerful PC next to it to run VST's. Any tips for a compact alternative without much hassle to setup?
Is nobody going to talk about the production design here?
I like the yellowy warmer tones of this video, very Spanish hey Oliver?
I have the OPW pack and it's great, the piano is really nice, and the synthy stuff is really cool too.
Great work
And what is the mic you use for your voice?
haha, thanks Mitchell :D We have some very talented people in the design/video production department helping out with all that stuff, so credit to them!
thank you for the nice words about the library, glad you like it!
For the VO I'm using an Aston Spirit mic, check it out, very good for the price. thanks for watching, Ox
Very nice playing too! :)
Thank you kindly! Ox
4:08 it sounds like Finneas's Shelter intro, kinda.
Great video!
Just curious, what keyboard are you using here?
Hi there, it's a yamaha p60. Thank you for watching, Ox
I wonder what piano piece you play each time
What's that piano piece you're playing? Original or Olaf A?
It's original and I wrote it for the Stratus library - check it out on the Spitfire website or on sound cloud, it's called 'Togetherness'. Thanks for watching, Ox
What actual piano is best for use with all equipment needed..right now i only have an older electric yamaha that has orchestral built into
it, but i need to move ahead with better
Hey - there is this weird keyboard click sound on a#3 in soft piano. Its so weird, shows up even if i hand draw the midi for a#3. Any way to fix that? Very annoying.
which midi keyboard is that?
It's a Yamaha P-60. And the one on the top is Impulse Novation (I'm testing it out at the moment...) Ox
@@OliverPatriceWeder Thank you
This is best ever
Please tell me the name of the song u played on the felt piano
me encanta labs , de verdad son un equipo increíble ,
ARE YOU HAVING THE 88th DAY OF THE YEAR SAVINGS THIS YEAR TOO....???
🙏
I play the HZ Piano, its very great. But everyone - everyone - is waiting for an offer from the chamber strings.. ;))))
Hopefully you took advantage of the spring sale in May. Along with everything but the most recent releases, Chamber Strings was on sale for 40% off ($419). And if you already owned Symphonic Brass and Symphonic Woodwinds, you were able to get Chamber Strings for $355 by completing the Symphonic Orchestra Chamber Edition bundle like I did. But if you missed it, Spitfire runs major sales a few times a year.
Is it possible to increase release duration in soft piano? Or is it compatible with sustain pedal?
Of course it works with a sustain pedal.
does your piano libraries all need kontakt full ?
only the grand piano plugin, all others are playable with kontakt player
How much was it?? Was the Hans Zimmer Piano on sell too?
It was 40% off the regular price. In addition to the monthly single-product sales, and the "mini" sales like this one for pianos, Spitfire runs major sales a few times a year. It used to be a "wishlist" thing, where you added the products you wanted to your wishlist on the Spitfire website before the sale begins, and you got coupon codes for those products. But in the latest sale in May, they just did a site-wide 40% off, except for the newest releases. There were some special bundles too with even higher discounts, mainly Symphonic Strings, Symphonic Brass, Symphonic Woodwinds, Harp, and Orchestral Piano for just $898. I think that worked out to 60% off. I suspect they will continue with this type of sale, instead of the "wishlist" sale.
Why can't I find any of these pianos in kontakt? I have all five Albion with spitfire
Those are individual sample libraries and not included in the Albion range
Thanks for sharing your knowledge! God bless you! And please remember the following:
For God so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Because God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but so that the world would be saved by him.
He who believes in him is not condemned; but he who does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3: 16-18
Hopefully, Spitfire will transition to physical modeling soon. I'm done with samples.
I have had Cubase since 9.5 and am now in 10.5.
Today I did an experiment and bought Logic Pro X version 10.5. In Logic I loaded HZ Piano from Spitfire Audio and started playing. I immediately noticed that the sound wasn’t as clear or pronounced, kinda muted. I thought that I had done something wrong and checked my settings In Logic. Played again and still sounded muted.
So I loaded Cubase at the same time with HZ Piano. Same exact settings, same levels, no plug ins other than the Piano patch through Kontakt 6. To my surprise there was a major difference! Cubase sounded clear, lush and powerful. But in Logic this $400 piano sounded like a $50 Piano.
Can there really be that much of a difference between DAWs?! Has anyone else experienced this??
I use Cubase 10 and latest 10.63 Logic and software au/ vst plugins sound the same to me. Now I do feel Cubase and Logic do sound different in general due to their internal coding. Cubase to me is very ‘clear’, Logic is ‘ full’
Where's the orchestral grand!?
in your cart?
Please stop tempting me
You may as well ask the wind not to blow or the sun to stop shining. This is Spitfire. That's what they do.....(I feel your pain)
I thought he was gonna play spitfire
Thank you for this, but what is it with the colour grading? Is the Titanic about to sink?
Thought I might pop on and report that the labs piano is actually out of phase.
Really ? Are you sure ?
@@pierrem260 There are a few videos on UA-cam about it.
@@mybiggrin Well that's embarasing
