      Fantastic tipper improvisation Brian!
Can I offer a small suggestion on your tarp issue?
Why dont you look at baton lapping the edges of your tarp down with a piece of 1x1 treated/tanalised timber connected a d overlapping all areas of the ply as the added tension you'll get from that will stop all the issues of blowback your currently suffering.
We use this method on our vehicles in England as excess wind over here let alone blow back from the chipper is a massive issue for us.
Hope you dont mind my suggestion?
Keep up the good work and stay safe.
      All the best
      Phil in Manchester, England.

Brian use this with screws to edge your tarp. www.homedepot.com/p/TrafficMaster-Satin-Nickel-1-3-8-in-x-72-in-Aluminum-Seam-Binder-Transition-Strip-H2777SN6/308371111. It will spread out your holding power on your tarp. Or this would be a lot better if you Drill a hole every 6 inches start by only making a 5 inch gap from your first screw one inch from the edge.
      www.mcmaster.com/steel-channels/low-carbon-steel-u-channels/outside-width~3-4/
This should give you a even spread of pressure all down the edge of the tarp. Face the U down for the most holding power but be careful not to cut the tarp by over tightening the steel.

we have wood boxes on all our trucks but we use tarps across the entire top. If you do that you will notice a huge difference . You will load your box right to the top. The plywood restricts the airflow of the debris loader.

Brian guessing the cord for dump is in bed so you don't have to put holes in the expensive cab of your truck totally understandable. Idea youtube channel Vbelt and son has a dump trailer this year he picked up a wireless winch remote control kit off Amazon I think and installed it on the dump trailer still has the factory controller but he also has the key fob to raise and lower the dump thought you might like the idea. Only goofy thing is up is out and down is in because the kit is for a truck offroad winch.

Funny Story. I had that style door on my leaf box on the dump trailer. We were at the dump dumping the load. And with the lower trailer the door some how got caught up on the pile while we were dumping and ripped the door off. Had to do the walk of shame and throw the door in the trailer.

  • @blackwolfnews1722
    @blackwolfnews1722 3 роки тому

I'm sure you've already had the suggestion, but if you sandwich the end of that screen/tarp between two pieces of wood, it will hold a lot better.
You can staple the screen/tarp to a slat of wood, wind it around one time, and then secure the encircled slat of wood to your box, that should give you a nice evenly distributed surface area to reduce tears from the tarp flapping in the wind.
At the very least, use a washer to distribute the the pulling area away from the damage where you used the screw to secure the tarp.
Love your vids! Keep them coming. :~)

Just charge a flat hourly rate. $35/hr is what I started at my first year. Don't forget to charge for hauling off debris though, otherwise you'll be working for free. Depends on your location but you can start at $20 a cubic yard. Once you start learning how long a job will take just by looking at it, you'll be able to price by the job which will allow you to make a lot more money. But you have to learn first

I do $50 or $75 depending on the job and I have 100 acres of land i own and I dump on so I just wanted to make sure I was charging right or if I was charging too high

Why not vacuum out of box instead of dumping on ground?

Those are great construction screws. They are not rated for outdoor applications. You need an exterior deck screw.
