I agree with the other comments, I would not disassemble the book but try to make high quality copies from some of your favorite pages this way you can use them in various ways. Thank you for sharing your creativity.
Hi Darice! Thanks so much for all your support. I did take some of the pages out in the back and made a chain and clip closure for it. Looking through it, I don't even remember how I did some of it.
Thanks so very much Charity! Follow me on IG and on UA-cam at Becky's Junk Journals to see my daily art and craft projects. Now that I'm retired, I get to play in my studio every day.
Thanks so much for your kind words Cheryl. I hear you about the Mod Podge. I won't use it again and I've got two big almost full bottles of it left. Another tip I have is to go over the page with clear gesso or even matte medium.
@@beckysjournals I made mine following a mixed media artist who said to put talcum powder on the pages. Well, THAT didn't work! I'll NEVER use Mod Podge again. In fact, I threw it away.
I am a bit of a late comer in junk journaling. I just found your channel and am enjoying your style very much. You gave me several things to think about including in my first journal. I made the mod podge mistake too. I don't think you should take apart your journal. It has so much nostalgia...you will miss it one day if you take it apart. And I think I heard you say it was your first one. I really like your style!
Thank you so much Catherine. I'm working on a series of Little Golden Book journals right now and you can follow along with my progres on UA-cam and on IG at Becky's Junk Journals. Thanks for your support.
Hi Becky, it seems a shame to cut up this fabulous book, you seemed to have so much joy looking through it again. On the other hand, they would make gorgeous tags. Maybe you can separate the pages or keep them whole just trim them down and attach the whole page in a journal. Add a little journaling space with paper on a flip out so you don’t lose the images. They really are fun. Or just keep working in it but you could show us what you do. Have a good night💕💕💕💕💕💕
Hi. Very nice artwork. Here's a tip for you; you can use an unscented white candle and rub it on your pages. All of the tackiness and stickiness will be covered by the wax and your pages will no longer stick together. You can get the candles from a dollar store. 😉 Also, don't take your book apart. It's perfect just the way it is. There is NO rules or mistakes in art journaling. 😊
Thanks so much Paulette, and thanks for subscribing. I do have matte mod podge but don't use it in books anymore. It's just too thick and after the book has been closed for over a year, it still stuck together. I use Liquitex Matte Medium now which is much thinner and dries faster.
I would keep it together dont cut it up. It's amazing work very inspiring. Fix the pages that think need fixing and finish the pages you think need finishing or something added to it. Just enjoy it 😊 I've seen people put wax paper in between pages so they don't stick
Thanks Kelly! I did a few subtractions and put a closure on it and called it done for now. It sits proudly along side all the junk journals I've made in the last 2 years.
Thanks so much April. She's been waxed down and has a new chain closure now. I took a few pages out from the back, but left the rest as is. I'll go back to work on it once I get over this Little Golden Book journal project I'm working on now.
Thank you so much Wanda. No, I did take out some of the pages in the back that had not been started yet since it was becoming too large of a gatormouth. I added a chain closure and set it aside for now while I do other things.
Thanks so much! This video is several years old now. The only thing I did to it after this is to put a chain closure made from a vintage charm bracelet.
Hi Leslie, This is an altered book and I took out about 1/2 the pages and then glued every 2 pages together to make a sturdy page that will hold wet media.
I agree with the other comments, I would not disassemble the book but try to make high quality copies from some of your favorite pages this way you can use them in various ways. Thank you for sharing your creativity.

I don't think I could cut up this book. It's amazing as is. I would love to sit down and just look through it. It's so beautiful!! ❤️
Thank you so very much! I decided to keep working in it as the mood strikes.
No no leave it be, I loved when you took me through your process of the beginnings, what a lovely memory for you.

I absolutely love this book! So many ideas I would like to learn. I agree with the rest…no cutting just enjoy!😊

This is such a beautiful book. This flip through has given me so much inspiration. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much Lucy. It makes me so happy to hear that!
Your book is lovely! I wouldn't cut it apart. I made 2 art journals with Mod Podge...NEVER AGAIN! so, thank you for the tip about the Johnson wax!

@@deserthorses5 I love clear gesso. Whoever figured that one out is a genius.
@@deserthorses5 OMG, I've never heard of the talcom powder thing. I think most artists just use the matte medium as a paper glue and a sealer.

Thanks so much! You must be watch them multiple times each since I have less than 100 videos on my channel. I appreciate your support.
This Audubon book , reverse collage is my favorite. I do this in magazines.
I would not do anything with it except enjoy it!

Thanks for the tip Carla! I'm going to try it out. The paste wax did almost nothing.
Leave the journal as it is, but make the pages less sticky. It is good to see how you were as a crafter when you look back on it in the future.
Thanks so much for your thoughts on this book Patricia.
Your art work is beautiful. I saw someone on UA-cam recently say that matte ModPodge will not cause pages to stick together.

Thanks so much Helen!
I love your pink and green pages. It’s gorgeous! I hope you don’t take the book part. I love it!
Thanks for the love Kateryne! I've decided to leave it to continue working in it as the mood strikes me. I appreciate you taking the time to comment.
No! It’s lovely. Wax it and keep it

I spray my sticky pages with cheap hairspray and it works. Much cheaper than the wax.
What a great idea! Thanks so much.
I just came across this video. Your book have beautiful art pages, I hope you did not take it apart just saying 😊👍👍❤.

Just found your channel
Welcome! Hope you find some videos you enjoy and give you some ideas you can use in your own projects.
What a FAB, Fab, fab book!!! Now, step away from the book...
Thanks so much! This video is several years old now. The only thing I did to it after this is to put a chain closure made from a vintage charm bracelet.
Your book looks so flat! How in the world did you do that?
Hi Leslie, This is an altered book and I took out about 1/2 the pages and then glued every 2 pages together to make a sturdy page that will hold wet media.
