This journal is absolutely gorgeous, from start to finish. So many goodies. I got a good laugh out of the note on the back of the giant redwood postcard, Tree? You think, what was their first clue🤣. Your eco dying came out amazing . As we both know you never know what you’re gonna get. Couple questions and I know this video was from 3 years ago so realistically I’m not expecting answers but figured I’d try. Early on maybe 2nd or 3rd page you had a beautiful ec dyed lg. leaf. You don’t know what kind of leaf it was do you. Some leaves are just wonderful and will print great every time and some never will and this looks like one of those that will. And more near the back you said you really love this paper really soft, textured, almost like handmade. Do you know what it was? Thanks for sharing your journal. It put a big smile on my face, all the way through!
Thank you for your kind comments! I had look at the video part way in.. so painful to hear my voice. lol I believe that leaf is from a large milkweed plant. I have many growing in a field on my property. I purchased some pulp-like handmade paper from Amazon way back when so most likely that is the paper I mentioned. Hope this helps and thanks again! 🙂
Absolutely stunning! I was so inspired to finish my keepsake journal, sometimes I find myself in a funk and need to take a break. So thank you so much for sharing!!
I have seen a lot of journals and they are all beautiful. but yours is truly special. I love, love, love it. So many little details and work has gone into this. I love your videos, shows how passionate you. I am a new subbie, and have had a look at your other journals. I would love to see your process of how you create them. It would be magical. Thank you so much for sharing.
I love how grungy this journal is! All the pockets and tuck spots are so wonderful, and make the book more like a treasure hunt. I always enjoy your videos, Mare! Thanks for the inspiration! Stay safe! ~Janet in Canada
Wow, just an awesome journal! So much attention to detail and the amount of unique and authentic vintage items you included is staggering! This is my kind of journal with the different elements, papers, techniques used, all the layering you did and tuck spots everywhere. I posted a woodland journal I made about a week ago and ever since, a lot of woodland themed journals have been popping up on my home page. This has been one of the most pleasurable to view. I thought my journal was large and chunky, but yours is so much more! I have subscribed to your channel and will check out some more of your videos! 🐇🦉🐞🐌🦋🍄
I created this journal a while ago but I believe all the darkish papers are coffee-dyed. My printer isn't the greatest, so I typically do not buy anything that would use up that much ink. Thank you!
Hi its bieutiful that Natural fleep journal,is amazing!! I loved those ephimeras, nice pictures, you inspire me, I just wanted to know when can you shaer step by step how to make it those nice pages and how do you add those envelopes between pages, Thank you💐
Beautiful journal. Do you ever have a problem with the pages tearing at the spine after you sew them in. Since this is a chunky journal I am wondering. I just recently experienced my pages tearing at the spine and was devastated.
I do concern myself over that very issue. I often support the folds of the papers in the signatures with strips of washi, fabric scraps, or tapes especially when I use thinner paper. I use parchment letter paper($Amazon), and mixed media paper, which are thicker than copy paper. Nothing is foolproof but I do what I can to support embellishments and frequent page turning. I also use Tyvek in the actual spine. Reinforcing the page folds will add a bit of bulk but I'm okay with that if it extends the life of the journal. 🙂
I love your books! I am curious…..do you sew each page and then put your book together, or sew as you go and add other sewn tags and cards as you go along. I would love to try to sew some pages….just not sure how to start❣️
There is so much stuff in this journal!! You must have been collecting items for years! I am new to this and struggle deciding how much to put on a page. Great journal!

Do you cofee dye all the papers or are some printed on the printer with the brownish tinge ?
