- Comments from my previous Trance upload got me to reminiscing...
Wouldn't be right to not fire up the nostalgia train, once again. All the way back to '93! Choo chooo, let's go!
..Smoking in the club! The times seemed almost innocent, the music was epic, the memories are wild. I hope the video conjures up the same emotion for you, as it did for me in editing. Crazy. I should have scaled the clips larger, or even had them blown full screen. And to jack with the footage of me mixing ... Lots of decisions to make post mix. Can't be played in the U.S.A/Canada - was worried I'd get further copyright holds, to be honest.
It's a mini VJ mix playing on the music videos that were around when these tracks had radio play. Blast from the past music vids which I've tried to best edit to sync with the mix - most aren't long enough to run in real time so what better than to add some messy 90's club footage of ravers living their best lives - Legends, all of them.
Hope you enjoy the moments - the real life footage begins, sporadically, a few mixes in. Was at times hard to eek out videos to fill the club mix track lengths, I've extended and manipulated versions to correspond with the full mix. Some aren't entirely original, but close enough 🤏🏻

kids born in the 1970s really had the best music at the right time in their lives. i feel blessed to have lived through 80s and 90s music and culture as it was invented rather than remixed.,

Born in South Africa in 79 and this was the best music of my era. Brings back so many memories of clubbing at my local Club Numbers in East London. Shout out to all my SA clubbers and those around the globe. Thanks for a superb mix !

If the world ends tomorrow, I'll die happy and content knowing I was 20 yrs of age in 1995 and that the best days of my youth were filled with the birth of Trance, as it happened. And with respect to Garage, Drumb n bass etc, nothing has given the world Euphoria like Trance.

In 95 I was 15 years old but in 2000 I was 20 and I went to the clubs to dance to the sounds of Tiesto, Mat Darey, Johan Gielen, Paul Van Dkyke, Oakenfold, Ferry Corsten, Armin Van Buuren etc.
Matched but never bested. Only Goa , Psytrance and Liquid Drum and Bass can match it!
I always say I'm so happy to have lived a life clubbing and listening to trance before phones and social media. I discovered it when I was around 11/12. Started hitting the clubs at 14 and travelled all around the country and to others to follow trace DJs. I'm 38 now and still have a love for it. I only go to about 1 gig a year. Its not like it used to be!

Man this is quality. I was born in 80 so hit my teens at the right time for the start of the trance peak years. The 90s were incredible. Just so many good memories of dancing somewhere or at a house somewhere just loving life and trance in the soundtrack of that era. Thank you for such a fantastic mix and long live trance ❤

I loved and MISS walking into a hearing these classic fabulous tunes. My favourite trance track has to be Silence Tiesto remix...the clubs raves fields looking up into the sky in the mornings and hearing the sounds was bliss!..

I Couldn't agree more. Born in 1970 with older siblings that had passionate and diverse tastes in music, paved the way for me to have an open mind and give it all a go. Aussie rock bands of the 80's like the Angels and Divinyls into the best decade of all time for music.. The 90's had it all. The BDO's and other festivals were open and inclusive without having to try and fit in to any "scene" and the legendary Melbourne Rave Days. A blessing indeed to have lived and experienced the ultimate playlist of all time. I truly feel sorry for 99% of my friends that couldn't listen to any new music after the age of about 20..

@@karras3593 ok, but......the feelings :) (I had dictaphone/fm radio/tape recorder machine for my 8 birthday in 1993. It costs just 50,- US cents (10,- kč in my country) because it was broken - it makes creaking sound every few seconds in every record which i made. But i loved that so much because i could record the music i loved. With this creaky sound.....but the feelings :)!!)

The media has nothing to do with the quality of a set. Also, the vinyl here is timecode, controlling video tracks, so it's all digital except for the controls.

Great solid mix, I was living in London from 1997-2001so great to rethink the great times had in the dance scene back then. An old man now but i still can help dance to most of those tracks.
The setlist mostly for that era of radio played Trance - Great tunes.

Listen to ASOT still these days but that 96-2000 sound was incredible.Count myself super lucky to have been around back then.
I share a similar path to you, although not so much into the recent trance (ASOT), I stopped listening to new trance around 08. Just doesn’t cut like it did in the 90s and early 00s

Some of the recent Prog house has some wonderful breakdowns and melodies, just a bit more chill (and no hi-hat!). It's not the same and nothing can recreate it, but worth a go - Shingo Nakamura, Tinlicker, etc, Monstercat Silk is a great label.
i have a lot of them on records laying arround, used to play them a lot on my technics dj isntallation, but over 12 years i havent touched them, basicly ever sience my parents died. but hearing this music, gives me good vibes. people these days, know nothing about real party's we had.
