His focus in now the 'big money' with commercial sounds, but on that path he lost most of the people who supported him from day one when making music that counted in the dance world. He lost me and many with me for his hunger for money and not being hungry to make the club sound evolve with him

Its not only sad that Tiësto went to more commercial styles of music but its also sad that he completely abandoned trance. Armin van Buuren still makes trance tracks even though he also makes commercial music. Would be cool is Tiësto once in a while released a banger like back then
Armin has sadly turned almost entirely commercial including ASOT. Although, his 2 big tracks this end of 23 were amazing and sound like classic Trance/Dance. But then his newest album is a mix of everything but Trance except those 2 tracks. I've given up on ASOT and Armin sadly, now I listen to Solarstone's Podcast and sometimes Thrillseekers. Tiesto's remix of Ray of Solar by Swedish House Mafia is actually Great, the best thing he's done in I don't even know how long.
It’s not sad they just evolved and wanted to become more commercial nothing wrong with that they are pioneers of what EDM is today on a commercial level .
It is sad, but I guess it's evolve or die. Its too bad. I hope that in years to come, there will be artists that come along and try to emulate classic EDM and trance.

Thats was awesome, thank You. We all know that the early Tiesto was the greatest. Today - I´m sorry to call him a Moneyboy - but he left Trance long ago.
His producers and ghost producers certainly did 😉@@vu7419 If you do a bit of digging you find out people like Ronald van Gelderen, Benno de Goeij, Dennis Waakop, Cor Fijneman, Geert Huinink and others produced sooo many of his tracks. It's even rumored BT made most if not all of his elements of life album. Dig a bit further say check out the in search of sunrise compilations and some of the "unique" names are actually the same people. Maybe you remember tracks like Pink Elephant -LAX from ISOS 5 (alias of Geert Huinink) or Banyan Tree-Feel The Sun Rise and Clouded Leopard-Hua-Hin (both aliases' of Dennis Waakop) from ISOS 7. Tiesto has on several occasions called it his band meaning he is the front man whilst others produce the tracks. Every video I have seen of him where a track is created he is never the one behind the producer's desk when the actual production takes place. He left Gouryella which was created together with Ferry Corsten and Ferry later resurrected the alias getting the tune of the year on a state of trance as he was the one producing the tracks anyway. Tiesto as a collaborative project certainly made a mark and his compilations like Magik and ISOS are very good and he can dj. What made Tiesto great is that he and his team of outside collaborators like BT and numerous others were awesome at track selection. I just wish people stopped giving him credit for stuff he didn't do.
He does exactly what he always did, search for what people wanna hear, it used to be Trance, today thats just not the main style anymore. It's missing the big picture and story of the culture. Gate keeping is perfectly valid. Just look at what's happened to any subculture over time to see the reality of people's concerns. This is the time when everything was turning upside down. Ravers of the day were worried about exactly what's come to pass.

Good title for this video! I hope it will stay here forever reminding the young people how high we set the bar for quality in the late 90's and early 00"s. cheers all!
I listened to this set so many times that I know it more than myself. I know. But thank you. Thank you. I can’t find the hard drive with this set. Thank you. My soul is complete.
Maybe besides Armin, many people sleep on pvd, ferry, and oakenfold. Oakenfold and pvd were before Tiesto's time. IMO they are the pioneers of trance and Tiesto just took it to the next level.
This set is absolutely amazing. Reminds me of the proper trance scene not the hogwash commercial junk we get now. In South Africa trance was a huge culture about 20 years ago but today I rely on people like you to uplift my soul to a different level. Thank you 🙏
This is the kind of music that brought me to trance in 2007 (Old school Tijs, Armin, A&B, Jorn van Daynhoven, Orjan). Tiesto's - Elements of Life (Copenhagen 2007) 🔥🔥 Thank for bringing back old memories 👍

Tiesto Silence ist eines der besten Trance Lieder aller Zeiten. Ein zeitloses Meisterwerk, welches selbst nach über 20 Jahren die Abendluft eines Sommertages nach Abenteuer schmecken lässt..
I remember listening to this tracks on my Sirius radio back 2004 and up oh man, what great times. And they said “nobody listen to techno”, and I was playing it at a high volume 😂
I remember the days when Tiesto started departing from the "Common Trance sound" scene and started doing his own thing it was a mess all over Trance forums calling him a sell out and look now everyone is doing what he did many years ago, he always had great foresight where music was heading and just took his talent wherever the masses music taste went.
then everyone is a sellout that does it. generate your own sound and do what you love, not what pays the best, else just label yourself a freaken pop star!!! The problem started when he became the first DJ to feature on daytime radio. Sorry, not sorry. And for me, the mix could have started at track 2
This is why I love Ferry Corsten. He doesn’t sell out, so much so that he even brought Gouryella back (was him and tiesto). He doesn’t talk during his sets, he just DJs.
Saw tiesto at the opening night of the Kaleidoscope tour in NYC in 2009. My friend won VIP tickets. He played most of these classics. . It was the best show I have ever been to.
Blessed to have experienced Tiesto PVD AVB Ferry BBB Carl Cox and many others in LA & Vegas at relatively small settings in the early 2000’s. Some much nostalgia.
Not sure about many, and when i saw him here in Dublin twice, last year and 2013, of the 850+ concerts/ gigs he did over the years he only played Ireland 3 times, trust me, i looked into it. O2 Arena [ 3Arena now] in 2013 he blew the roof off with a close to a 5 hr set full of what we are listening to now in the video, pure trance and classics and Tiesto at his best and prime. Fast forward to 2023, Royal Kilmainham, 30k openair concert, plays for a poor 95 min set 75% of which is EDM shit and was a shadow of his former self imo. It was good but not great and no compasasion to the 2013 gig. Ffs, even the 2nd support Jess Bays played for over 2 hrs and main support Sigala for only 30 mins wtf? lol. My bucket list artist and imo the best dj now, is Armin Van Buuren and hope to god he comes over here. Still good Tiesto but this EDM shit is shite imo, not trance and what i am used to and certainely nothing like Tiesto 1995-2014, after that he sold out, rarely played trance and lost a lot of original trance fans imo.
Hey time changes !!! Sometime you can’t play the same forever ! Kids these days knows nothing about 20 years ago !!!! Tiesto, Armin , ferry , Paul van dyk are legend
Thank you for up loading such an amazing Set!! I'm 44 now, but these tracks take me 20 years back to my best party nights, dancing all night long this magical Trance Music. "Silence" is one of the best tracks in Trance Music history, I will never forget "That Tiesto" that made me feel an incredible emotion with his memorable Sets 😊😊
I sold my Technics and most of my vinyl collection ages ago when I needed cash, but I kept about 10 of my favorites. Silence and Flight 643 are among them. Tiësto was really at the top of the game back in those days.
From tiesto’s musical career, i learned that if you are good at what you do, continue doing it. Don’t take risks and end up losing your previous skill.
HE CAME to AUSTIN, TEXAS OCTOBER 2001. I was 5 months pregnant and still house stepping, stomping and battling on the dance floor; for his concert. I got to hand him a copy of my personal CD and Shake his hand, then he kissed my hand, then kissed my left and right cheek. "he didn't want to let me go as i remember trying to end the handshake... so amazing. I will never forget the experience. I will never forget the indescribable happiness (from this set)... I will never forget TIESTO!"
Tiesto's In search of sunrise sets are ones that cannot be beat. I know Marcus Shultz is trying to keep it going but it doesnt come close to Tiesto. Cosmic Gate is probably the only one who could pull it off.
News flash, many of us teens in the 90's and early 2000's never cared for his style at all. Not saying he was crap but this dude is a part of a Industry Hype machine with a bunch of ghost producers behind him and even then I could never understand how people were duped in thinking he is a top echelon DJ. Tiesto was at his best in the 90's IMO.

15 years ago I received a asbo for my loud music for 4 years thanks to Tiesto and friends, and I would do it again , actually I still do now , I'll never change my love for this music ever it's who I am, fact
Tiesto, very talented trance, DJ can tell a story with words and beats!!👌

Good title for this video! I hope it will stay here forever reminding the young people how high we set the bar for quality in the late 90's and early 00"s. cheers all!

Tiesto ruled the world of trance is a bit too much. I mean you are forgetting Paul Van Dyk, ATB, Ferry Cosrten, Armin Van Burren and paul Oakenfold.
Maybe besides Armin, many people sleep on pvd, ferry, and oakenfold. Oakenfold and pvd were before Tiesto's time. IMO they are the pioneers of trance and Tiesto just took it to the next level.
Talla 2XLC, Blank & Jones, Tracid, Sunscreem, dj Mellow-D, and Sunbeam were more the trance artists I preferred.
Sean tyas too
We could name a bunch more but Tiesto was definitely top 3
PVD, Nothing But You, one of my all time favs!
I saw Tiesto at the Seattle airport in like 2003. Dude was just posted up near baggage, looking the superstar DJ part with shades indoors.😂

Tiesto Silence ist eines der besten Trance Lieder aller Zeiten. Ein zeitloses Meisterwerk, welches selbst nach über 20 Jahren die Abendluft eines Sommertages nach Abenteuer schmecken lässt..
Yes it is classic....his best remix 😊😉
I remember listening to this tracks on my Sirius radio back 2004 and up oh man, what great times. And they said “nobody listen to techno”, and I was playing it at a high volume 😂

I have seen many DJs play but none like he master.........TIESTO !!!! He rules. Positive energy. Cheers 😇
CLASSIC TRANCE WILL ALWAYS REMAIN THE BEST UP BEAT MUSIC 🎵🎶🔊🎶🎶🔊
Yes always remain the best
He doesn’t talk during his sets, he just DJs.
yep Ferry is the GOAT@@NickYoung22

He came to Ireland many times, welcome D in with open arms, for bringing us here memories for a life time, respect bro from Ireland 🤙🇮🇪🎧

DJ Markski and Tiesto would make a killer night to dance too!
