Years ago I visited the West for the first time and a friend drove me down this road. The view below was stunning, but I missed most of it because my eyes were closed!
Today I played this at 0.25, started the treadmill did 30 minutes and the video was at 7:45, then I sat down to relax and watch the rest of the 14:26 at normal speed. I guess I like this drive going down a bit more than going up. When I go down, I want to do the left and drive through the valley of the gods. When I go up, I want to do the left and go out to muley point. Either way, it's all good. I watch these several times a year. As of now I haven't had anyone stop at the top where the big turn is with all the concrete and fence, stop, and then take video OVER that guardrail. Thanks for recording and posting this for everyone to enjoy.
Just did this drive a few days ago, going up Moki Dugway. Careful don't let the beautiful views distract you. Lucky there are places to pull over to take in all of the beauty that part of Utah has to offer. One of the more beautiful yet white knuckle drives here in our beautiful state! Thanks for the video! It captures it very well!
THANK YOU FOR A REALLY EXCELLENT VIDEO!! Gives great images of what it's really like to drive it, makes me feel more confident to takle it myself later this year 😅
Thank you for sharing this fantastic impression of the Moki Dugway. It was on our tour plan for mid March this year, but we skipped it because we come with a C-Class RV. Do you think it is doable with that kind of vehicle and mid March? We are careful by not scary drivers.
I think the general guidelines are nothing towed and nothing over 28 feet long. The turns are pretty sharp for a longer vehicle to make. I think you might have made the right choice to go the other way.
WHEN WAS this exploded/carved. And how long did it take ? O er . During the 50s uranium boom or earlier ? Has there evuhh been any fatal major boulder slides ? NO SLIDE AREA sigs noplace ???? Can some local answer ? Drove this uphill, summer 88. Saludos cordiales desde 🇫🇮
Thanks for sharing. Headed there in early april. Question....do you feel it was a safe drive if someone is careful? I am so scared of heights and will be traveling alone, but this trip is all about getting out of my comfort zone so its on my list of must do's.
I'm not sure what it is like in bad weather, but on a sunny day it was perfectly fine. This particular road is wider than a lot of roads with switchbacks. I would not attempt it in an RV or pulling a trailer. I think you will have a great trip!
@@eMegMBea nope. Never made it that far. Went to colorado instead. I will drive this road though! Hopefull next spring. We shall see. And i will be alone doing it!

Glad you enjoyed it! The Moki Dugway is certainly worth a visit.
That is a long way down and mostly gravel. What a state Utah is!

@@DeceleratedTravel thank you so much for the response.
@@bluscrapsdid you make the trip? If so, how did it go? I also will be going solo later this year and a bit afraid of heights!

Which direction are you headed in this video? North or south on HWY 261?
