- He's one of the most beloved broadcasters in baseball. Our own Mike Krukow sits down with Amy G. to talk about his journey from the field to the booth, how his 5 children serve as his muse, and his amazing friendship with his broadcast partner, Duane Kuiper.

Honestly I love baseball so much but I might love Kruk and Kuip more.
I’ve been saying..make Kruk and Kuip the announcer for World Series! They’ve played the game and know it very well! Plus they aren’t bias and give players their props!! The other announcers call the games as we see it! I would say that they’re the best announcers in MLB period! I’ve learned so much from them especially by them calling the pitchers pitches! They’re teachers for the sport and it will always be a beautiful thing!

@@marioesqueda9534 i like them too, but they have too much of an old-guys-vibe for the big networks to choose them for such a big occasion. I think they're much better suited to the local market.
@@marioesqueda9534for non-Giants fans they will always be legends for doing the commentary on MVP Baseball 2005, the best sports video game ever made. Some absolutely classic lines, whenever I see a bad strikeout I always think of Krukow’s “grab some pine, meat!”
Kruk will always be the man! Can hear him talk about baseball all day. Truly a blessing to have him as our announcer all these years! Proud to be a GIANT!!
I got into baseball in 2017, after the golden age of Giants baseball. Despite all the recent struggles, Kruk and Kuip keep me coming back to enjoy this beautiful sport.
Kruk and Kuip. It doesn't get any better. Our Giants aren't doing great but we're die hards for life. 3 generations of fans in my family. We aren't going anywhere. If we could sit at candlestick park in freezing weather with 2,000 other fans then we can sit in Oracle, the best baseball field in the world, and weather any storm.
I met Kruk on A plane in 2015 on my way to Spring Training. He was so gracious. We talked about the 2014 WS and took a photo. Best day of my life ❤❤❤

Mike NEEDS to be in the HOF. Dwaine NEEDS to be in the HOF. And they need to be the first broadcasters to go in as a Partners

It's impossible, but I want Kruk and Kuip to broadcast forever. Love them, love Dave Fleming and Jon Miller. These 4 guys are over half of the reason I'm a Giants fan. Love you guys forever.

Jay Johnstone told a story on Kruk in his book "Temporary Insanity," in which, as a veteran, he pranked Robby Deer into going into Chicago, finding the local statue of General Sherman on a horse, and painting the horse's balls black and orange, Giants' colors. I've always wanted to ask him if he still does that to Giants' rookies.
Such a awesome human Kruk is I look forward to watching the Giants and love to hear Kruk and Kuip talk and tells their stories. Together they are the best of the best.

What a fantastic interview, thank you so much for posting this. I nearly lost it at the end though hearing how tight those to men are like brothers. Being in a family that is nothing but Giants fans those two always bring a smile to us in the low times. Thank you Amy G and Kruk!

It's too bad the Giants aren't involved in more rain delays. When Kruk and the other broadcasters are given the time to improvise and converse ad hoc, it's very entertaining. I love hearing them tell stories about themselves and baseball in general.

Great journalism/broadcasting Amy! I know it's a sensitive subject but I would have liked to hear about how he navigates his illness and how it's impacts his ability to travel.
Wait what's wrong with Kruk? You mean Kuiper who was diagnosed with cancer?
@@shpoopadoop Mike Krukow has been living with a condition called Inclusion Body Myositis which is progressively weakening certain muscles in his body. It's the main reason he doesn't travel to away games anymore.
Mike has inclusion body myositis - "Giants fans are well aware of Krukow's condition, known as inclusion-body myositis, a progressive muscle disorder that affects the legs, arms, fingers and wrists"@@shpoopadoop
@@shpoopadoop Kruk has been dealing with IBM (Inclusion Body Myositis) for a number of years, which impacts his mobility. Beginning in 2017 he announced that he would reduce his schedule to 120 games a season working road games only west of Denver, except for postseason games.
It will be such a shame if Kruk & Kuip are not in the MLB Hall of Fame before one of them stops broadcasting or god forbid one of them passes. I know that only one broadcaster makes the HOF at a time, but let the baseball gods see fit to get these two in the HOP together while they are both still around.
