studio changing, covid, new hires, new graphics, ue4-ue5, the feedback(they go back and Fixx stuff), the funding(more money = faster development) , the scope of the game?? i mean i can go on more,
BDO was quick to make, BUT the guys in charge were experienced developers. Steven was not. Intrepid started off with a handful of devs. Then there were the Calafornia fires that, if I remember correctly, caused some difficulties for staff getting to the studio. And, as @THYDELAY has pointed out, COVID (this itself just makes it incomparable to bdo and other mmos which were pre-covid, I mean come on, the delays world wide for everything was insane and we are still impacted by it), new studio, new hires, scope, engine upgrade and no pressure from executives to release within a timeframe. Then my favourite point, well done, actually taking community feedback and listening to it, and making changes accordingly. Soooo... what other studio does that? Nil. That is why it's taking so long xD Enjoyed the video. Many many great points ^^
If making games is easy, why is Rockstar taking 12 years to develop GTA 6? bruv the guy is most delusional person and as an artist making games it's hard to make one character it could take 1 month at least if everything goes smooth
Gosh i cant even watch two minutes of this guy. It isnt even him trashing on ashes, but how he so obviously sounds like hes trying to play a character and tow a line, attracting all of the other whales like him that spend thousands on p2w games. Its disgusting and so obvious.
I think the biggest concern for a game like this or Star Citizen, is game development is about to go through a revolutionary cycle with AI. While I find much of the AI stuff to be BS, I do believe it’s going to allow bigger, deeper, and more complex games to be developed substantially faster, with drastically smaller teams. Ultimately what is the mmo’s biggest issue, quantity of content. And there was only two solutions: endgame loops, or letting the players generate the content though player conflict. AI will solve this. A game that can generate story and assets in real time response to player behavior, while weaving stories that bridge thousands of players together, will be the next big thing and is now not a pipe dream.
It’s funny how a guy can judge others and says that guys hyping ashes are on cope, he literally says that black desert ist the „best mmo“. Black desert a mmo where you have no real multi player or crazy grouped content or boss fights.auto running everywhere and Basically a singleplayer game where you have to put money in so you can truly reach your Characters max potential. Do not compare any p2w game with others none p2w games. It like comparing 2 fighters where one is clean and the other is under drugs or steroids. One is clean and the other is not
Great video, blue seriously has a strong grudge against AOC, and complete ignorance for ashes' positives. And wanting it to release unfinished is a horrible take, presentation and first time impressions are key to an mmos success especially if there are no prequel games for Intrepid.
I spent $500 on something that doesn't exist made by an eccentric millionaire who comes from an MLM background, and I am being more reasonable and even minded than Blue here. That definitely isn't a good look.
While everyone would be happy if the game blows up and is really big, most of the diehard followers expect it to have similar or slightly larger long term amount of players as something like Archage 2 or Lineage which were the main inspirations for AoC. So something like 50k players after the player falloff is done, maybe 200k or 300k at the absolute max, but 50k is a more realistic expectation based on the target audience of AoC. I'm not sure why you are making such a big deal about the game taking a long time. There are plenty of reasonable factually confirm-able reasons why it is taking so long. The studio wasn't able to expand to over 100 people until 2021 (which is when you should consider the 'real' start the serious development to get a better estimate of where it should be), Covid happened obviously, there was a fire in California that effected their studio's expansion/development. All that on this literally being the biggest game ever being made that isn't have a significant amount of procedurally generated content. Of course it is taking a long time. I'm actually surprised they are as far along as they are. Edit: A much better point of attack if you want to mock people about not thinking AoC is a scam, you should bring up Steven Sheriff himself. An eccentric millionaire with a shady MLM past. Much better than just making inaccurate easily falsified points about this stuff.
The development for Black Desert Online started late 2010 and had an eastern release in 2015 and western release in 2016. Around 5 years.

Pretty much anytime I see a bluesquadron take, I disagree with it.
Every time I see a BS take I lose my appetite to consume popcorn.
Probably a good thing I'm about to burst from over eating popcorn.
yeah he's a Muppet

He's just mad he can't play it. That's all I'm hearing.
@CestPasFaux-kt9zq Wait to play it during launch :) It'll only be 15 dollars to try for a month
@CestPasFaux-kt9zq Of course it doesn't exist, they're still making it. See you at launch! :)
The game is fully funded. Steven put up 25 million and counts every penny.

Money ? Need to find out how much money this clown spent on BDO .
15k
i never seen such an arogant and dellusional

I can't stand his voice... and his opinions about what is wrong according to himself in the mmo industry.
Don't worry the next $250 Alpha will fix stuff
The bluesquad guy has no clue how a real development cycle works. Probably some of the worst opinions I've ever heard.
ashes will come out in 2030 lul, imagine wafting 12 years
What if it comes out and the game just dies only 2k people playing
all the wait for what.
