  • Attorney Casey Walker dives into the second part of a Compensation and Pension exam referred to as a Medical Examination. A Medical Examination establishes the severity of the symptoms of an already service-connected condition. Attorney Walker discusses the key points that take place at a Medical Examination and steps that should be taken to prepare for them as well as what to expect during the exams. He notes the types of doctors that are likely to perform the C&P exams and instances when a competent examination did not take place and should be reported.

i have been notified by contractor QTC they are going to do a PTSD exam in a week. She is listed as a sports psychologist and among other services on her web site she has listed VA exams. The first item under that tab on her website is do not bring anything, documents, etc. to this appointment. Since I have had a recent May 2023 cystoprostatectomy i needed on site accommodation should my pouch need changing or leaking and the said they cant accommodate me so they changed it to a video PTSD CandP exam. This is a a first time claim I filed Oct 7 2023 with intent date of sept 3 2023.
I claim R lung pneumonectomy, copd, removal of prostate and bladder last year and hearing loss. should i be denied i will seek va approved legal firm.

You have a lot going on. Cases such as yours can be complex. Yes, we definitely recommend you seek competent representation if denied.
One other consideration is that you don’t want to represent yourself because if you are capable enough to legally represent yourself the judge might think your mental health isn’t that bad. It’s food for thought.
      We wish you well!
