- Complete setup video for the BMW/MINI Universal Hands Free system (ULF). Retrofit info here www.northamericanmotoring.com/.... Video shows phone pairing, multi-function steering wheel controls and detailed procedures for setting up the system.
The demo vehicle is a 1st gen mini cooper with the factory hands-free option which I retrofitted. Detailed info in the link, including over 200 installation pics. The OEM MINI ULF retrofit kit was sourced from ECS Tuning. - Навчання та стиль
thanx you hit it right on the money. very professional.
Yup you should have a plastic card with your 4 digit PIN in your owners documentation.
There is also a PIN sticker on the ULF module itself, but that's not easy to get to on an R53 Mini (behind the center dash). Only other way to get the PIN is via a BMW/MINI dealer
very good video.
Does this work with the R52 or will it drain the battery as the Parrot does on the R52?
Thank you for the great post. Can you provide us with the installation instruction manual in english?
hello! So bluetooth just for calling? is it correct ? i cant stream any music from phone?(..
Thank you so much!
How is it with siri?
Can you stream music with the bluetooth using for example, spotify?
Hi Pablo.. this is just for calling. There are several aftermarket Bluetooth music adapters available that work with the CD changer interface. You can also use a box called an Intravee with a Bluetooth adapter and get track info on the display
No it wont stream which is annoying
How to unpair an old phone to your car
I've a Mini Cooper s 2005... I have the buttons on the wheel... I don't have the Bluetooth pair button behind the handbrake... Is it an addon of some kind?
+acengland82 , I am also wondering the same thing? If you get a reply please let me know as well.
+acengland82 the "button by the handbrake" is part of the optional factory built in bluetooth phone kit that was available for the 1st gen BMW Minis. More info than you could ever want to know in the build thread I posted in the video description:

You can get the steering wheel phone buttons working in many ways, but all of them require some add-on electronics.
Good luck
+bnallc thank you for the reply! Last question, do all 1st gen's have the button?
+mark white unfortunately no. the car would need to have the MFSW option (Multi-Function Steering Wheel) and one of the 2 OEM bluetooth options. Please take a look at the first post in the link I shared - you'll see pictures of the options. You can still get original equipment retrofit kits that will let you use the MFSW buttons, or you can get aftermarket kits that also work them. I used to have a Parrot system before I installed the high-end OEM setup that's shown in the video.
