  • The officer who fired the shot that hit Chris Kaba in the head said he believed he and other officers were in mortal danger.
Kaba was unarmed but the police felt threatened by his driving and the jury at the Old Bailey found Martyn Blake, whose code name was NX121, not guilty of murder.
The Crown Prosecution Service defended their decision to charge him but are facing criticism from the police and Conservative politicians.
And the family of Chris Kaba and campaigners say the death is part of systemic racism and disproportionate killing of black men.
A warning: Ria Chatterjee's report contains footage of the shooting.

Still baffles me how the police always crank out the line "he made movements which suggested he was armed", yet no gun was found was it? Was it?
People dont make movements towards a gun that doesnt exist.
Remember when they shot that guy a few years back in his bed, who was naked? No one convicted for that murder.
Remember when the IRA guy killed in 1996 during an arrest operation in London? He complied with all requests and did exactly what they asked him to do, but still found himself getting shot. They knew they had no weapons in the hotel room, had used an extremely strong cs spray on the people in the room and after they shot the chap, the cops dragged his lifeless body down the stairs (photos online to see) and slung him outside....oh and didnt call an ambulance for him.
Let us not forget the Brazilian gentleman that was going for his train when armed thugs in the Met stood on him and shot him point blank in the face infront of terrified on-lookers and fellow passengers. The cops lied about him running away from them and made all the same sounding legally coached statements to avoid prosecution and legal proceedings.

This is something that i'm still not sure about. As far as i know, the police/CPS 'decide' a crime has happened, and the jury just decide if the accused committed or didn't commit that crime. Has there been an inquest yet ? i know that sometimes they have one after a trial, ( doesn't that decide if a death is a crime or not ?) Once a crime has been declared can it be 'un-crimed' ? Who or what can change this ? Will the police say 'they are not looking for anyone else' or that the crime is un-solved ?

It's really strange when you think about it. The demographic that most frequently expresses frustration over unfair police treatment also seems to have an unusual amount of run-ins with law enforcement. What’s even more baffling is how, in so many cases, they fail to comply with basic police commands, which often escalates the situation. You’d think that if a group feels targeted or mistreated by the police, they'd go out of their way to avoid any unnecessary confrontation. Yet, somehow, there seems to be this persistent pattern of behaviour that only intensifies those negative interactions. It’s almost as if the entire philosophy behind BLM mostly relies on emotional appeal rather than addressing the complexities of accountability.

Wow, what a word salad. Let's go through it: of course the demographic with the most police run-ins would be best placed to express frustration - they have the most experience of it. It's not strange at all.The next bit is pure conjecture, unless you'd like to share with us the details of all these cases of failing to comply with basic commnds and escalation. The following sentence "You'd think that if a group..." could simply be replaced by "I don't know what it's like to be racially profiled". In fact that could replace the entire post, for all the sense it made.
