In my head canon, Vanessa is a BBC receptionist to joined the company on her down time after that experience. That might not work with the timeline. LOL
They did a podcast where I think it was Henry Shields said they had to keep raising the pitch because she’d just end up matching it so they had do to it extremely high to the point even she couldn’t match it anymore.
1:12 I love the fact that all of the international clocks say the same time
3 роки тому+7
Yup, caught my eye too. Also, when Bryony later in the show adjusts the time forward (for the next scene), she again (of course) sets them to the same time. (Although the hour hand is not correct in at least 3 of them, in relation to where it should be based on the minute hand. Good thing those clocks don't have the third hand, the second hand)
My favourite is still "The door is wide open!" and it's closed, with the stagehand running and opening it, slamming it into her face and knocking her over. XD!!!
It took me a while, and several episodes, to realise there are only three actresses in the series (four with Lucy). You can do a lot more with wigs and makeup to change a female actor's appearance than a male one's.
Bryony is so great at the little moments of seething frustration with the others breaking through while trying to be professional. "They kiss, rolls credits" being a perfect example of this.
Am I correct that Bryony's character, Venessa, is relatively new to the Goes Wrong franchise? Because she's so good, it feels like she's always been there. I'm pretty sure she was the BBC receptionist in Christmas Carol Goes Wrong. 😃
One of the best visual gags is in "The Trial", when "All Rise" is called (the second time) the female lawyer literally "breaks the glass ceiling". (I'd like to think either the casting or the set was planned that way on purpose, just for that gag).
Need to get my hands on this stuff, it's just the utterly best. Nope, not on Amazon Prime here in Germany. Not at this time, anyway. Maybe never was, maybe was removed.

So, I've never watched this series, but I do know its premise. I apologize if this is too much of a "that guy" comment, but I would just like to point out a few decisions made in this compilation that were problematic for me and offer a couple suggestions on how to avoid or fix them. Don't get me wrong, I still thoroughly enjoyed the video, but as a viewer with no context, there are some things in this video that just had me scratching my head. The clip that opened the video, in my opinion, was not a good choice. Given the number of lines attributed to each, and the fact that Bryony's character was only reacting, the opening clip could just as easily have indicated that it was going to be a compilation of the male actor. The only reason I didn't think it was so was because of the title of the video. I think the opening clip should've been one that made it absolutely clear who the subject was and didn't need to rely on the title. The clip at 00:41 was again, more of a clip of the male actor. The male actor had a much more visible reaction that more naturally draws the eye, as opposed to her more subtle reaction. This was a clip likely better saved for a little later, when it is absolutely clear who we are to pay attention to. At this point in the video, it seemed like we were still in the intro, so I was confused as to why there was a clip that didn't highlight her. The clip at 00:51 I think should have come after the following clip, not before. It's a small thing, but again her part and reaction was much less prominent than the other actor's. In the 01:09 clip, it's the same two actors, but all the focus and attention is on her for the entirety of it. If the latter clip plays first, the viewer will be primed to focus more on her, when the former clip plays, as the viewer subconsciously recognizes her as more important. The 01:51 clip was straight up not a clip of her. I think it would have been better to not split the clip and just have the full thing play out. Or perhaps (and I think this might have been better), you could have edited the 3 seconds of 02:00 - 02:03 out, and cut straight to the rest of the clip at 02:11. This one is disputable, for sure, as the clip resolves perfectly well mere seconds later. That being said, I think the changes would help avoid pulling the viewer out of the video to think to themselves "wait a minute, that clip didn't show her at all", which is what happened to me. 02:21 I think you know what I'm going to say. This is a clip of the other actor. As much as her reaction is funny, I don't think it's a good idea to put a clip like this in a "best of", because the scene just isn't about her. If you truly want to include clips like the opening, 00:41, and this one here, I recommend putting them together as a group or sequence. It would work perfectly with one of the text cards you were including in the video. Something like "Priceless Reactions", perhaps. 03:33 (and 03:55) (and 04:15) Yep, another clip highlighting another actor. Did she just not have many moments to shine on her own in this series? She has some good humour, here, but so many of these clips are just not about her, which is strange for a Best Of compilation.

I recently re-watched Peter Pan and Christmas Carol, and was surprised to find Bryony there, first as a crew member and second as a BBC receptionist
I had that same experience. It's great seeing her in a much larger role for the Goes Wrong show.
Cornly is kinda good at that.
Look at Annie and Trevor, both stage hands but also actors in a few scenes

@@PhilosopherWR Works on the timeline, if you ignore that she was in the stage crew for Peter Pan
She's so good. I love when she has to sing that "Dear Santa" song and it keeps going up in pitch to the point where she's just screaming in falsetto.
She’s actually a very good singer so they had to make the change in pitch so extreme the ‘mistake’ was more obvious.
@@evewilmot1629 I think she had to fail on purpose with that

“The war is over?”
“NO, IT ISN’T!”
One of my favorite parts from the whole series😂
Only surpassed by the questioned "Brrr" sound Jonathan later makes.

Out of the three women, Bryony did the most physical comedy. A true sport.
I disagree. I think Nancy does the most physical comedy out of the 3 women.
Her reaction to eating the button in the xmas one was priceless.
Bryony is also an extremely accomplished dancer!!
Also a very good singer
That explains 0:30 she's got some serious stamina
Extremely?
She's the embodiment of "You know those days? When you're like 'this might as well happen'?"
I will never forget the trouble I went through just to watch this show. Worth it.

It's such a talented and accomplished cast. They're so good
I love Bryony so much, one of my favourite members of Mischief Theatre. Well her and Henry Shields
"Bim ba ba bim bim... Bim?" Always cracks me up.
