Dear friend. Speaking as someone who has visited your country many times I agree that there are beauties that one deserves to see, both good and bad people like all countries. As a reference to the reputation of some Albanians, unfortunately you made it yourself, since for example the BBC a few days ago stated that the largest percentage of prisoners in English prisons are Albanians. I could write other examples but I do not want to tire you. The bottom line is that we do not blame others for our suffering but we try to fix what we have! Greetings from GREECE..

Thank you for your Albanian videos, Dany! My paternal grandparents are from Borove in southern Albania and I planned on traveling there with several cousins in 2019 but it was rescheduled to 2020. Then the pandemic hit so the trip was canceled until it is safe to travel again. Seeing your videos has helped me get a bigger and better picture of what I will see when the trip eventually happens.
Great video and all you said is true. I agree and i have only been to Albania once, stayed for 2 weeks in Tirana and Sarande. Albanian pride does not compare to any other country. They are very welcoming and i always felt safe there :)
That’s true that Albania is one of the underratted country. The scene is so beautiful and the people are friendly and pure. I’ve been there several times. Quite love it
Congratulate me 😅 I persuaded my husband that our next family trip should go to Albania… he is still not really convinced but I booked now so it is all my responsibility that the trip gets nice😅 but I am sure all will be happy…
The time I spent in Albania was amazing. I was treated very well by the locals and I have only good things to say about my experience of Albania. I highly recommend people visiting. Enjoy
Albanian here and I am being very objective with my thoughts. If you want to spend 1-2 month here as a tourist go for it. Food, car, house and a lot of other things are really cheap and decent quality. We have almost everything every big and popular countries boss about for the 1/10 of the price and add the unconditional love that we have for foreigner tourists. Crimes and Problems do not occur out of nowhere. If you go after 1am in a dark, unpopulated street you will have a problem everywhere, but people make it looks like only in Albania mafia exists. If you want to live in Albania it's another problem that would need an essay to explain it. But basically the harsh truth is that people complain too much about everything and do nothing to solve the problems. Basically we are alive as a country because of emigrants that send money to their families. To sum up: Nothing works properly there except the tourism and Televisions/ entertainment sector. All the other fields are almost dead.
Thanks for sharing. In my eyes to be objective you have to keep in mind the countries recent History. Only in the past 10 years the Country is starting to grow. Many things will happen. Been to many Eastern European as well as Balkan Countries. Very similar Situation. It´s never the People, it´s always the environment. Gotta be part of the Solution not the Problem.Albania is definitely affordable but overall maybe a bit cheaper then eastern Europe. Around 30% cheaper than central Europe.
Perhaps the growth of the tourism sector will lead to some economic improvement overall. That said, I think Albania is not alone in suffering from a bad reputation due to the presence of organized crime and corruption. Sicily has just as bad a reputation. So do parts of Russia.
LOL... true, and they (we) talk loud.... My kids born and live in the west, always think that we are arguing and about to beat one-another whenever two or more Albanians get together talking... also, the generation born before 1990 facial expressions are those of a suffering and distrusting people from all what they endured under one of the most harsh and cruel communist dictatorships. The young generation looks better, fed and clothed better. Albanians are well known for their welcoming of foreigners.
Because of Covid travel restrictions, I show some of my students (they all live in group homes, so I use Zoom to 'see' them) a different country ever week. Well, this week I chose Albania and I was so pleasantly surprised! This country has everything I love; beautiful beaches, majestic mountains, good places to eat, and friendly people. I now want to visit this lovely country some day. They seem to like the videos, also.
This seems to be a very charming place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future when all this is over. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much!
I am going to Vlore via Tirana on 5/25 and this video has me very excited! This guy is a really good speaker and presenter. One of the best I have seen on any travel videos. 👍
The natural beauty of the Adriatic and the mountains is enough to recommend Albania. However, anything man-made is not ready for prime time. There is garbage everywhere including the beaches. Every other building was a deserted half-finished hotel. And the restaurants and bars all had the same menu of food and drinks and none of it was outstanding. Except the pizza which was great, but I don’t want to eat pizza too often while on vacation. I will say the people of Vlore were very nice and welcoming. I would call Albania an unpolished gem.
@@MrTbraida23 Yeah Albania is still behind compared to our neighbours we have years to go. The garbage thing is real problem though thats the number one thing every tourist complains about, during communism the goverment controlled every part of our lives everything belonged to the state so when it fell people just didnt care anymore about the enviroment. Covid played a big role in hotels being deserted usually they are full when the season starts, construction was also halted because of the pandemic. The food though is decent there very similar to what you eat in Greece, in couple of years they will build the an airport in Vlore with the $ coming in the city will look better. The country is blessed with beautiful nature but people need to do better , hopefully you had a good trip!
You two are the BEST I have seen here on UA-cam! And I have watched 100's of these travel videos! I am moving from California to Albania soon and this was very informative as well as entertaining on Tirana.. Great Job and will be watching you more on your travels...

5:40 two new bus-station will finish very soon, the East in 3 months, the West which will also include the train station and is much bigger unfortunately in 2-3 years. These that you showed on the video are provisiory "busstations". Glad you enjoy Albania
They say if drink Albanian water you will always comeback there, or you’ll never gone leave that place ! It looks like you enjoyed too much your journey there and really it’s a heart stealing place for everyone ! Good luck with your ideas and don’t forget we need people like you in Albania because sometimes other people know the values of what we owe better than us. Yes Albania is booming in next 10 ten years and tourism is flying high.
I spent a week travelling all over Albania and this video captures my experience completely. I would add that my partner and I have also considered purchasing a property ("base") there as well because it's incredibly central with many quick flights all over and plane tickets are very cheap to/from there for now.
I'm passing through Albania for 48 hours, and I'm really curious and excited to see some of the country. Gjirokaster, Sarande and the capital Tirana are my major stops so hopefully I'll get a good feel for the place and its people. Hopefully the road is good quality since I'm travelling on a motorcycle, which is my only concern.Your video was quite helpful so job well done!
My nanna and granddad were very secretive about where they were from, I grew up being told my nanna was from hawaii and my grandad from Australia, they've moved around alot with my grandad being in the army... some of my aunties and uncles were born in hawaii, my dad in England.. last week I found out im only a small minority of hawaiian, 40% Albanian which obviously was a shock so here I am discovering my actual background 😂💯

I never knew anything about Albania until a few weeks ago. My fiancee has been stuck in Russia for 18 months, and I haven't been able to see her as an American since then. We noticed Albania was one of the more affordable tickets that would allow both of us to visit. I personally wanted to go to North Macedonia because of the Taken movies. I started to read up on history, watch multiple videos like this, and it became clear that this is somewhere we both really want to go to without realizing it. Only 46 more days, and I cannot wait!
That " Taken" movie has done so much damage to Albania. People think Albania is such a dangerous country, even though the events in the film were happening in Paris and not in Albania. It is such a pity. Albania is the safest place in Europe, not because of police or government rule. It comes from it's own people, it's culture and traditions. People themselves keep the law and order. You don't do a crime in our communities as you get punished straight away. If you kill someone, you'll get killed for sure. Albanians take revenge, so everybody thinks twice if they want to do a crime. Women move freely everywhere, because you are in a BIG trouble if you touch a woman who doesn't want to be touched. You may call yourself a DEAD person if you touch someone's sister, daughter or wife. If a woman asks for help in the street, you'll see a bunch of people surrounding and safeguarding her until they send her safely to her destination. Street crimes don't even exist in Albania. There are no gangs or drunk people beating people up in it's streets. Albanians don't even pickpocket or steal you because it is regarded as a shameful thing in Albanian culture, just as begging. No Albanian begs or steal on the buses. The only people who might pickpocket on the buses are gypsies and they are the ones who beg in the streets too. Albanian Mafia is not in Albania... When they come in the country, they come to invest and enjoy their life. They try to stay away from trouble, because they know "everybody is a mafia" in Albania which means that even normal people might retaliate at you if you commit a crime towards them or their family. It may sound a bit old fashion " the vendetta " style, but Albania still follows honour and traditions in its daily life. The country has lived for a very long time under various occupations, so it's people used their old, long traditions to survive and function.
@@liljanasufaj4130 I just got back from Albania, and that was probably the best trip of my life. My fiancee and I were getting meals with strangers, we were invited into multiple homes for drinks and conversation. And I complete stranger that knew Russian gave us a ride to Durres after noticing how confused we looked. Everyone was so friendly and hospitable. The owner of the apartment we rented in Tirana invited us to his villa to drink some amazing homemade raki, eat some light snacks, and get out of the heat. I am a pretty internationally-misguided American from a small mountain town of friendly people, but Albania was so much more hospitable. You can't find that in many cities, especially America. Im glad I wanted to learn before I visited, and to get rid of stereotypes and fake opinions present in American cinema. I definitely plan on returning again. Im sorry that the reputation of Albanians have been harmed through misinformation, as well as the general lack of knowledge of the country. I met 3 Americans waiting for covid tests at the Tirana airport, and all of us were extremely happy we chose to visit there. Again, amazing friendliness, beautiful sites, extremely safe, and a very rich history that I have been reading about almost nonstop since June.
@@jacobfrost8299 I'm glad you had a nice time there. There is a funny expression in Albania regarding foreign Ambassadors who came to work in Albania. "They come crying ( didn't want to come here due to stereotypes) and live crying( 'cos they dont want to leave anymore)" Every American ambassador in Albania says " I'm the luckiest Ambassador in the world " for being here, because nowhere else in the world they are respected and loved more than in Albania. Albania has a lot to improve to catch up with the rest of Europe, but it is moving forward and has done well compared to the dire conditions of the 90-s when Albania came out from Communism on its knees....
@@liljanasufaj4130 I lived outside of Moscow for awhile, which also came out of communism in the 90s, but not the exact degree. That saying is definitely correct. I wish I had the money to stay in Albania.
@@jacobfrost8299 Yep. Communism was harsh, but nothing compared to Albania. When Albania welcomed 700 000 Kosovar refugees into their tiny homes, they were so surprised to see how poor really were Albanians of Albania. We even bought clothes and other necessary things for them from our tiny money as they were in need for the moment. Still, Albanian hospitality and generosity shined like never before. It opened many eyes in the west on how generous Albanians really were and how Albania was able to accommodate such a massive number of refugees without any social drama. And all because of our traditions to welcome in our homes anybody in their time of need that passes at our doorstep and to guide and protect them with our lifes. The situation is not the same today, 20 years later. If we were to welcome refugees today, we are able to keep them in our homes without any outside help. Albanians are warm, friendly but hot blooded people and if you don't lie or cheat them ( they hate lies and being cheated) they are the most loyal and amazing friends you'll ever have. Also, if you help an Albanian in need, you'll get compensated for ALL your life. They are grateful and never forget your goodness towards them, but if you do smth wrong, they will not forget it either. They will make you pay even if it lasts for generations. Honour in keeping your word is still very important in Albania and this is the main point that Albanians get in arguments and fights with others. If someone changes their mind and doesn't keep their promises, gets in trouble with Albanians quite often ( Italians and Greeks learnt that the hard way). Anyway, I just hope that we don't get too westernised and lose our old ways as that's what makes us unique in Europe. Sorry for the long comment. Far away from home, under the grey skies of London, I think I was missing my country....Cheers!
i come back few day ago from Albania, i love that country!

There are more Albanians living abroad than inside Albania and even though with few exceptions, the majority of Albanians are good hard working people which in one way or the other have contributed into european society (including Greece) and shouldn't always be judged because of what you hear or read in the news.
Greetings from Albania!
@P_KoCi, Dear friend, i have seen some videos about Albania and got fascinated. Even though, i wanna visit Albenia. So, I wanna know much more about your country. That's why, i am asking for a way to know more. So, if you do not mind, could you please talk to me and let me know.? If you are interested, please reply here. Thanks in Advance
@@zanteskipper69 my dear friend if you saw the racism in greece towards albanians you would be more than surprised.
@@zanteskipper69 But if they do criminal activities in England, and Albania is really safe, what does that say about the UK? If we are as you say wouldnt it make sense that we behave the same way in whatever country
Dany at the end of the day Albania needs you, the longer you are there the more there is to share to the world.
Dany you are Awesome.
Thank u for Promotting and Warm word. Love from Vlore :)
I’ll be visiting Albania this summer 🥰 thank you for a nice video.
Such a lovely video ❤️
Thanks, Dany. You were right. Albanians are one of the kindest people I've met on my travels.
Great video and all you said is true. I agree and i have only been to Albania once, stayed for 2 weeks in Tirana and Sarande. Albanian pride does not compare to any other country. They are very welcoming and i always felt safe there :)
Thank you Maria for your kind words we wish to see you again you are welcome.

Thanks for the update. We will be driving from Finland to The Albanian Riviera in June.
I Love my country🇦🇱.Hugs from Switzerland🇨🇭
I love you 😘
Congratulate me 😅 I persuaded my husband that our next family trip should go to Albania… he is still not really convinced but I booked now so it is all my responsibility that the trip gets nice😅 but I am sure all will be happy…
The time I spent in Albania was amazing. I was treated very well by the locals and I have only good things to say about my experience of Albania. I highly recommend people visiting. Enjoy
You did such a great job. Respectful but honest. Love it, Thanks.
In my time in Albania, I joked that that locals look like they would kill you, but are so friendly. I felt so safe there.
LOL... true, and they (we) talk loud....
How was it?

I’m an Albanian living in USA. Thanks for your video. Albania is beautiful country. Like every where when you go you will some unpleasant things. But Albania offers natural beauty, hospitality, nice and friendly ppl, . Welcome buddy to my country. ❤️🇦🇱
Hey thanks for the video, I love hearing about off the beaten path, underrated countries like this. Hopefully I'll get to visit Albania soon!
Great videos, glad you enjoyed your stay!
I spent a week travelling all over Albania and this video captures my experience completely. I would add that my partner and I have also considered purchasing a property ("base") there as well because it's incredibly central with many quick flights all over and plane tickets are very cheap to/from there for now.
Just book my ticket... So excited!
Dany, very intelligent approach!!!!!
I'm passing through Albania for 48 hours, and I'm really curious and excited to see some of the country. Gjirokaster, Sarande and the capital Tirana are my major stops so hopefully I'll get a good feel for the place and its people. Hopefully the road is good quality since I'm travelling on a motorcycle, which is my only concern.Your video was quite helpful so job well done!
i plan to go this year, Albania has everything i want mountain and coastline . Also are those people riding bikes!? i love it
My nanna and granddad were very secretive about where they were from, I grew up being told my nanna was from hawaii and my grandad from Australia, they've moved around alot with my grandad being in the army... some of my aunties and uncles were born in hawaii, my dad in England.. last week I found out im only a small minority of hawaiian, 40% Albanian which obviously was a shock so here I am discovering my actual background 😂💯
My nanna is the one that was actually Albanian 🥰

Going to be spending 3-6 months in Albania soon! Crazy cheap cost of living and amazing views.
Saint words and great footage.
Thanks Dany!
"They come crying ( didn't want to come here due to stereotypes) and live crying( 'cos they dont want to leave anymore)"
Every American ambassador in Albania says " I'm the luckiest Ambassador in the world " for being here, because nowhere else in the world they are respected and loved more than in Albania.
Hey man, great video! I am considering going to Albania and roadtripping for about 10 days. Your video helped me a ton and just made me more sure I don't have to worry about my safety! Keep it up, love the content.
