A friend I went to school with got hooked on heroin really bad. Me and my girlfriend did everything we could to try to get him normal again. He couldn't handle being sober and hung himself in his brothers backyard. He left behind a little girl that never got to know him. This song was on a CD he left in my car. This song definitely hits different now. R.I.P. Gary.

Damn that's hard I don't know what to say I have feelings similar to his but I don't know what to do I want to give up because life is nothing and this feeling of nothing is what I want to end I want to feel something again even just sadness which I got a little out of this so thank you but I don't know how much longer I can go on for I have been feeling like this forever and it keeps compounding on me and eventually I am gonna break because nobody cares or loves me

I miss when Adam was in the band! They were a favorite of mine in the 2000’s.
He had a very distinct voice and Matt's alright but I did enjoy the original sound better.

She was being molested and her parents had tape over their eyes so they never paid attention to her. When she grew up it was so bad she wanted to end her life. Then they put her in the hospital and if you pay attention to her legs and arms are being held down by the guy in the sweater, she can’t deal with it. Now to tell you, I was that girl! Got molested by my grandfather. My life as an adult has been pretty hard. I take it day by day. I wanted to let you know if you didn’t catch it. That you Billy for showing that video!!

That is truly heartbreaking to hear and I’m sorry you deal with that every day
The video is actually about Adam when he had to go to a rehab facility he was at the end of the road and after he got out he had a little concert for all the people in that hospital
The video is about the child being raped by her father and as an adult she is severely emotionally scared and no longer wants to live. Extremely sad and so scary because this does happen to some children and it could be any family member or a family friend and you may never even know it.
That actually probably happened to my best friend. She doesn't quite remember cuz she's traumatized but the evidence say that it probably happened
I don’t think it’s the father that raped her cause the father is shown with tape over his eyes with the wife meaning they either didn’t know about it, or purposely turned blind to it to continue living “perfectly”

Her dad was jumping up and down with him and his wife eyes are taped. There is a man on the bed with their daughter he gets close and you knew. Then they let it happen again. She is mentally unstable so in she had to be put away. Then that guy that molested her. She was being held down he would hold her hands. When she gets set free!
@@cr1s1s0ff41th unfortunately that happened to me too. It will never go away and it makes a difference who you can trust. I am damaged I know and it is my flashbacks, I hate myself because flashbacks will never go away in my life.

This song got me through my college days, esp as I was like that kid in the vid who was raped, from 5-8 yrs old and my parents were blissfully ignorant even tho I tried to tell them. It's such a motivational song for me as I often feel like it's too late and my lifes over and shit but it was a good reminder back then that no, I still have a chance.
I looooove this song. Yes the video is hard to watch but as someone who has experienced same kind of abuse as a child I can relate to it 100% and three days grace nailed it. I read somewhere that Matt wrote this song because his sister went through this.not sure if it's true but whatever the reason it's a really good song and at what stays with me is that it's never too late to let go and.live your life regardless of all the shit that's happened to you.

Different lead singer but yea I get why you would think he sounds like the lead singer of Hinder. Three Days Grace is the band that sings Animal I Have Become. They made great music and made multiple solid albums before this lead singer (Adam Gontier) decided to leave the band. They grabbed a new lead singer in 2013 and the band still makes music (While not the same vocally, I personally don't mind the current music) to this day. They even made a cover of Somebody That I Used to Know by Gotye.

Well the video is about some girl being molested as a child which causes a nervous breakdown and possible suicidal tendencies so it's not supposed to be pretty subject matter. You see the Soul Asylum video for Runaway Train about child abductions it's like that sort of it's real. It's not written just for SJW s crying because someone called them a racial slur it's for actual victims of serious trauma. It should make you uncomfortable.
