the beginning is always the hardest, and the gym is one of the only things where you actually get this brief glimpse into where you’ll be if you keep going, everything else you have to have faith in the process and befriend uncertainty ❤️ it’ll always be difficult, but you can only ever be exceptional if you are the exception
So, Im going to school for Computer Science. My reasoning for this was: 1) Math is one of the things I can sit and do for a long time and I should take advantage of it. 2) Money Now, Computer Science has started to become a rather over saturated field and I think the reality is that you're not going to find that kind of success in computer science unless you have a passion for it and the reality I'm being confronted with currently is that, despite the fact that I quite like physics and calculus, I don't really have that much passion for compsci. As a result, I'm looking to change majors. Anyway, I got a little carried away, but my point is that root of what drives you doing youtube shouldn't necessarily be succeeding, but a clear passion for offering advice or for entertaining or for helping people or whatever you want to do with this. If you're pursuing goals in the form of "When I get x amount of subscribers, I'll be consistently motivated to create," you're going to get burnt out at some point because the reality is that there are several people with that number of subscribers who are no more motivated than they were before they had them. My advice is to look inward (which I'm sure you've done some form of since it seems like you've done a lot introspection in your life) and to ask yourself if what you want is a successful youtube channel or the ability to create videos successfully.
Basically, do what you love because you love doing it. If you're not sure what you love doing, that's fine. You have your entire life to figure it out and I'm sure you will lol.
Thank you for sharing your story and I’m glad you are looking into pivoting into something you’re more interested in. This was very sound advice. I think I’ve adopted this toxic mentality of doing work for the results over the course of my high school career. It’s weird bc during my minecraft UA-cam it was so easy to love the game of creating videos (for fun). I think turning into an adult and going to college I’ve lost the “fun” mindset in my life, now it’s like everything should be done for the purpose of my career advancement. UA-cam has def been a part of that too. It sucks though bc I want to love it as a hobby but the pressure to succeed is real. I think I might go back to making more edited videos again cause I do love editing. But I’ve been creating these vids to stay consistent somehow while I figure life out. Anyway thanks for the two way yap session. I really appreciate your advice always❤️
