No way. First of all because Michael didn't need any evolution. Second - here you have one guy who makes 90% of work by himself and other one who makes a incredible beat box. And the best is that by moments it sound so damn real... You just can't hear Michael in this. Petatonix is nice but too modified or better "evoluted" and I just hate when somebody try to change his songs. But it's all about personal taste ;)
Sam has grown so much. I remember him when he was in my group, always hanging around me and I was his camp counselor at CTY. He was just in 8th grade and he played piano ABBA in the talent show, blew us away. We all knew he would be good someday. Proud of you Sam.
Still listening to this in 2020. In fact, this was the first ever video I saw featuring Sam Tsui and Kurt Hugo Schneider and I have been a fan ever since. Btw ... I do not believe that enough recognition is given to Kurt ... singer / songwriter / producer / director / musician!!!
I actually first saw this 6 years ago when it came out :') My favourite 5th grade teacher showed it to me and he passed away 3 months ago, this video reminded me of him. Rest in Peace Mr. Carol.
I think the important thing to remember is that Kurt is the composer of this music, but there's a lot of auto-tune going on in his work. It's great work, but it's completely polished with a computer ~
yeah. well not exactly..ive seen him live..not really a lot of auto tune at all..like it sounds like there is...but there isn't..just the sound of his voice.. its REALLY noticeable when there is auto tune.
Aaron Vigna I too have seen him and kurt LIVE... they have the Best Show I've seen in years.... They Really Enjoy Preforming, So natural, They were Born to do this!
Watching it again in January 2019 after a long time. Thanks for this great tribute.. it was so emotional and made me cry. What a legendary artist and a great human being he was.. and will always...❤️
Almost 10 years after first seeing this I just watched it back and realized that this is Sudler Hall at Yale... I have my CS class in that room! Still a great video after all this time.
I know this was posted a long while ago but I just now stumbled onto it. I have to say we'll done. I personally am a fan on MJ's music and I feel this did justice to him while still making it your own. Well done.
I have watched this over 20 times and it never leaves my mind. I think it is most incredible thing I have ever seen!!! Thank you for the great memories of Michael and giving us the good hearted Michael that I remember. I love your stuff!
I remember i used to watch this all the time when i was in junior high school and to make y'all even feel older than you already are, i am now chasing after my master degree
okay wow. so this was right at the beginning years of UA-cam, and a legendary cover video. the views, probably one of, if not the most, viewed covers ever, right? and a totaly tribute/honor to MIchael because it was almost exactly a month after he died. Thank you for honoring the Greatest to ever do it, Michael Jackson, in such a beautiful way. Kurt has always been and is still, SO talented and I remember my Kurt Hugo Schneider, Sam Tsui (who did WONDERFULLY and is soooo super talented and has a beautiful voice!), Christina Grimmie (RIP queen
my choir director played this for our acapella group and i was blown away! and then i looked it up… i was like ofc it’s kurt hugo schneider! dude i’ve been subscribed for so long and i can’t believe i’ve never seen this

I wanted to reminisce, jogged down memory lane. So been binge watching the videos that got me addicted to covers, and helped me discover even more talented people in the world. It is 2020, and I returned to this video of Sam and Kurt. I always thought their videos were awesome. I remember those days where I'd watch Sam & Kurt vids, then shift to other cover artists, and most of those artists I continue to revisit even today.
2014 and this is still the best MJ tribute I've ever seen.
