Well, lets see here. Had my Montana High Country for 1 year now. Warranty replaced the front door, it was completely missaligned. Warranty fixed the bedroom door. It broke. I fixed the closet shelves by reinforcing with 1x12's from the floor to the bottom of the shelves on each side of the wall, and a center support for the cloths bar. Warranty replaced two wheel hubs after a brake failure chewed up the inside of the hub. Had a tire blow out within the first 3 months of ownership. I changed all the tires myself. Winngard Razzor television antenna broke, replaced under warranty. City water connections leaked, replaced under warranty. Gas line quick disconnect was improperly installed. It was bent upwards, totally unusable as there was not enough clearance to connect anything to it. In an attempt to move it at a lower angle, it broke. Replaced with new pipe and connector myself. Slide cable broke, fixed under warranty. Underskiring that wraps around and under the trailer, every self-tapping screw broke out and the metal was flopping in the wind. I added the largest washers I could find through each self-tapping screw and re-installed myself. Bathroom door was replaced under warranty. Staples in the walls are popping out. Thomas Payne recliners were fastened to the floor with 2 small screws. The first time I sat down, they both popped out. I ended up drilling holes through the floor and running bolts through the chairs and under the floor so they won't tip any more. Gas line came loose from the wall inside the front cargo area. I fixed myself. Glass door over the entertainment falls open when traveling. I installed a catch so it won't fall any more. Cabinet doors popped open in transit, got caught in slide outs when extracting and broke off. I fixed myself. EVERY single pull down shade in this camper has come apart at the pull bar on the bottom of the shade. Warranty replaced 2 of then, I then started using clear silicone and ran a bead over ever one so they won't come off any more. All this in one year of ownership. Quality? oh yea! Some quality, not to mention some changes I made just because they were done shoddy or just plain stupid.

Damn you have had a lot of issues. I just a spare tire separate and it’s never even been driven on. It’s only 2 years old but that’s what you get with Chinese tires. So my next step is get the other Chinese tires off of mine. Mine had a sag in the roof in the front area from the factory and someone stapled the roof inside after the build near that area. All the other staples are filled but these aren’t so it was done at some point later. I also noticed one of the gutters is bent in a way that’s unlikely from tree limbs hitting it. The marker lights aren’t even mounted evenly spaced on both sides. If you remove a light you will also see where they just jabbed a hole and left sharp edges then ran the wire up against that. My interior lights are flickering 2 years in. I found a leak by the water fill and found a loose hose so I fixed that myself. The jacks are welded on but left untreated which will cause rust to the frame which is a serious issue. I can hear gurgling like bubbling coming from my shower hose right where it screws on by the turn knobs. I don’t see any leak but I hope it’s not leaking somewhere that I can’t see it. You shouldn’t be able to hear air right there. The woodwork inside has shredded edges . The floor creaks already. The quality is just junk honestly and I won’t buy another.

I have a 2018 Keystone Hideout 28BHS and love it. I’m smart enough to know any RV isn’t handcrafted by Norm Abrams in the New Yankee Workshop! Like most things these days, RV’s are assembled as quickly and cheaply as possible to be competitive and affordable! My shiny new Keystone had a few deficiencies when we got it home but I decided to fix it myself, no big deal!

Keystone has been vastly successful because they mastered quick assembly using cheap materials, sold a few thousand less than their competitors. Your "lite" trailer has prefab thin gauge aluminum trusses that a 5 year old can crush, a laminated foam floor, hollow thin aluminum framing, and a toy chassis with chinese tires and leaf springs. 'Merica!

I disagree Cameron. We owned a 1997 Fleetwood Bounder for 20 years and 162,000 miles and I could count on one hand of minor issues. The only major issue was we had to replace the cooling unit in the refrigerator. When we sold it in 2017 everything still worked well. Even the Onan generator had over 4000 hrs and still ran well. Our 2018 Keystone Laredo has had so many issues I've lost count. The water heater blows the door off nearly everytime it fires up. The Atwood furnace sail switch keeps failing. The thermostat switch keeps failing also. The list keeps going and going.

Oh that is sooo true. I bought a keystone Laredo and what a bunch of hacks, when you buy any rv go through it with a few friends and pick it apart. The bed frame wasn’t even square, the hinges were installed upside down and when opening the bed to access the storage the cross brace snapped. Oh and the struts for the bed was mixed up with the struts for the outside entertainment door. The under bed storage wouldn’t stay up and you couldn’t close the outside tv door without damaging the frame. The company should be called keystoners.

My wife and I purchased a 2012 passport used in 2019. We are first time buyers. Several camping trips and have had No issues other than 30amp breaker that keep tripping, this was the parks issues and was quickly replaced. I have done several upgrades to the camper myself, no big deal. Remember screws come loose, air driven Brad's back out, crap happens going down the road. Maintenance is a MUST for ALL RVers. Our camper is under going delamination on the front nose cap, I knew this when buying, will be replacing front nose cap with .040 aluminium. The filon/luan in my opinion is junk but it is used to keep the ultralite campers that way. Everyone wants to camp, relax and have a good time, but it's like owning a home, maintenance is always gonna keep things GOOD!

I purchased a 2018 Outback in March and have been trying to get the roof fastened down since then. The work was approved in late July. Camping World did the repair on one side but not the other and now Keystone won't authorize the side they already authorized because it was already submitted for reimbursement! Are these people nuts? Thor and Keystone have so many issues they will go bankrupt. If you buy a Keystone product DO NOT remove it from the loft until you literally crawl all over it because they are more likely to deny repair than approve it... because they can.

As someone who has made extensive repairs to Keystone Sprinter, I can tell Keystone how to make a better product! Keystone Campers have a huge quality control problem. In fact I am beginning to think they don't have quality control. One big thing besides the cheap interior finish the slide outs are going to leak! Its not always the side seal either. To be fair I checked this defect on a brand new Jayco Camper at the dealership, BTW Jayco is supposed to better, they have the same problem with poor design. The problem is the side walls of the slide outs at the bottom only rely on caulking below the moulding to keep out water! Caulking fails after a few years and when it does the water is coming inside. It will rot out the floor and walls and bring mold into the interior finishes! If you own a camper DO NOT rely on caulking and moulding to keep water out. What I did was I flashed each slide out side wall with 2"x 2" aluminum flashing. The vertical is tucked up between the outside siding and the interior wall covering. This is done after the moulding is removed, cleaned and fresh Butyl tape under the moulding and screwed back in. The horizontal flashing goes underneath the floor. You must make sure that the flashing ends are tucked up under the slide out rubber seals. Caulk the bottom and the top of the moulding with GeoSeal ProFlex RV sealant. I leave the screws loose so the sealant get under the moulding a bit before I tighten them fully. Use new screws because they rot and break after a few years. Its sad that as consumers we have to fix and make our campers better than they were made at the factory new! I truly hope this helps someone. This is not my idea, I got it from another guy on you tube and I can provide the link if anyone wants it. Good Luck!

@user name Can you name some? I'd be interested in guiding potential buyers towards those models. Sadly there is no accountability or consumer protections anymore! Any that do exist are watered down to the point of uselessness. The agency who are supposed to manage consumer complaints basically ignore the complainant and side with the business. Even worse consumers seem to be oblivious or don't care about their own wallets-so sad!

    • @plasma3211

Yes I would agree to a point. Everything was documented in our experience with Keystone Campers. The first 2007 Camper purchased new leaked right away. The company took back the camper and made a 2008 model. Having an understanding of quality building procedures and the ability to pin point defects right away helps. Total ignorance along with apathy and deep po lets is even better!

As an Elkhart Indiana native born and raised still living here I'd like to say it's shocking to see nobody talks about the truth about how these rate shops work. Everybody locally knows this and it isn't argued at all. For those who don't know we call em rate shops cause the pay for employees is based on units produced. Not hourly or salary. I promise you. People will be and are fired for moving as slow as they do in videos like this one. I've known many to quit because they were tired of the verbal abuse and being pushed. I've worked with many local companies myself. If bright lights and moving scaffolds are state of the art I need to consider my definition of the phrase "state of the art" lol. Moving scaffolds aren't uncommon. RV companies are known for not embracing technology and automation. RV enthusiasts on youtube often say "RV's often have errors cause they are still hand made." This is an outright lie. It's totally possible to build something by hand with good craftsmanship. But they're paid to be fast, not good. Remember, these are rate shops. Way too many of them openly use methamphetamine and cocaine on the job. Your coworkers will even offer these hard drugs to people who've never considered drugs because they aren't keeping up with them. They've got a saying in these rate shops about mistakes in their build that they don't want to take the time to fix cause money. They say "It looks good from my house." or "I can't see it from my house."
I've seen co workers pull out meth pipes in front of people they didn't know like it was nothing. Some shops workers even have lines of cocaine laid out on their work bench. Groups of people do this. Depending on the shop management is often known for turning their head the other way. I promise you they aren't ignorant to how their own shops work. Until employers actually learn about mental health. Actually crack down on on the job stimulant usage. And stop paying a rate, or at least start docking the rate for quality issues then this will not change. They will continue pushing your product out based on numbers and not craftsmanship.
Nobody really makes RV's differently. They're just playing word games with you. RV workers hop job to job and they do it the exact same way at every job. If you want a quality RV I once read about a company in California who only built class c models cause of the poor builds and they felt that was the strongest and safest foundation. I would look up if there are other RV makers that AREN'T in northern indiana and who do STRIVE to be different from the broken irreparable Elkhart County mindset.
Those roof trusses sure look better than the welded ones I've seen at other companies. But then again bad roof welds are probably among the least of your concern when boy. Sometimes these units start falling apart before even being delivered lol. As a welder of 12 years who went to school for it and reads on it regularly, I promise you my welding co-workers don't know the difference between a good weld and a bad weld! My bosses don't know, and the owners don't know. In fact a welding education around here is commonly frowned upon lol. These people I swear.
I once heard a trucker at a local truck stop ask for a tow for a trailer whos axle fell off. He said he was delivering a brand new towable rv and before even leaving town an axle fell off lol. I'm not going to say the brand even though I know cause these folks might wanna sue me for being honest or in their eyes defamation. It also doesn't matter to the customer much which company cause most companies buy frames from the same place, or others who weld the same way. The worst welding I've EVER seen in my life was specifically in RV frame factories. I could be wrong on this last part but I don't think there even if a single RV company that manufactures the whole RV. They're all dependant upon each other for parts and supplies. So between brands you won't find much varriance in quality or work environments. Same parts same supplies same workers different sticker on outside. That's all it is.
The RV industry ins't the only local industry but it has unarguably the worst reputation. They've earned it though

My Keystone Passport GT is a piece of junk. It is a 2021 and is a 2400 RB. Nothing but problems out of it and horrible management and Keystone could care less. This is based on my own personal opinion and experience. I also climbed the back ladder and it broke and they claim I told them it was cracked and then I did it. Not true ! It cracked because of me climbing it and no sticker on it telling the weight limit. I had a warped refrigerator door, warped cabinet door. Both sliding doors coming off the tract. Top of shower coming apart. Sharp edges on some of the wood. The bed was not the original bed. Someone switched it out and the whole bottom of it was ripped. The wood on the right side of the bed was all chewed up. Sawdust still coming out everywhere. Light covers come of everywhere in the camper after you have been on the road. The GE A/C is so loud that you can barely hear the TV. Lot more stuff I found. I find the Director Of Operations rude and unprofessional for Keystone RV. Please buy a Forest River or something else but I would stay away from Keystone RV.

They are pretty much all built the same. Built fast with cheapest materials you can find. I worked at an RV service center for a couple of years. I repaired trailers that had water damage from leaks. If you buy a trailer, avoid units with slide outs. They will all leak. When they do, it does alot of damage to walls and floors.

I've heard lots of bad things about Keystone...
They're basically a box with running gear bolted on underneath...
I suppose if you bought one that has an aluminum frame with bonded sidewalls you might be okay.
You're still going to have to do a lot of work to correct the shoddy construction...

I just retired on Jan 1st 2018 after 40 years in manufacturing water treatment equipment for electric plants. And to have a great rebuilding project, I bought an 2005 Keystone Zeppelin at an auction. Knowing it was in bad shape. However, in disassembling it I cannot believe the terrible workmanship I uncovered. I realize that there are good hard working people at Keystone, and probably have more conscientious folks today. Therefor I can only guess that it was entirely the fault of the management for the poor workmanship and or engineering I found. Note that Everything worked in the trailer, A/C, furnace, refer, radio, electric, microwave & oven. Everything worked that Keystone bought out from another manufacturer and installed..This trailer was severely damaged by water leaks. I completely gutted the trailer disclosing the ceiling & wall leaks, disclosed 8" circles cut out of the ceiling to allow a 1/2" bunch of wires access? Found that none of the frame wood "sticks" in any the cabinets connected to each other?? Not one cabinet frame had a solid frame support system. Like the shelf the refrigerator was on was broke, the microwave shelf was an inch from falling onto the floor. Outside the front fiberglass cap was secured and screwed not to an aluminum cross channel but missed it completely by a 1/4" and was screwed only to 3/16" plywood, and absolutely NO insulation in the front cap?? I like my project on this 2005 and have decided to decal it with my last name as a "BrownStone" instead of Keystone. And in the future.. if I should ever decide to buy a RV / Camper trailer new.. I would have to buy from some other manufacturer for sure

I purchased a 2021 Passport GT and the quality is horrible. I contacted Keystone to get a overview of where wiring, ducts, supports are and was told it is propriety information 😡 It’s a RV, get real. As a owner I’m entitled to the information! I worked commercial aviation for 25 years so I have a idea on quality and actual proprietary information. The only reason I bought this unit because it was available in my time frame and had features I wanted but I never expected the build quality to be so bad as confirmed by comments below. And being refused access to the manuals I need as a owner is a major issue that I will be pursuing by whatever mean's available and I urge all owners to do the same!

Have to second that opinion. Bought one that did not have a secure outer siding...made multiple calls and they would not stand behind their product even though when it was installed you can see where it is missing 14 screw holes that were only half screwed in. I called for several managers and they just say it could not happen. I verified with the previous owner and the company that has done all repairs on the RV and both state this panel was not installed. I would not buy anything from this company they do not product a quality product and they do not stand behind their poorly made produce. I just paid almost $3000 for a repair I should not have been responsible in my opinion.

Disappointed with our Keystone 2019 Outback.
    - Stairs broke, my husband removed the back door stairs an put them in the front door entrance. Those stairs broke too and we purchased new stable stairs.
    - My knees were messed up going in and out through the wobbly stairs.
    - Now the FLOOR Is sagging in the kitchen /living space area.
@Waited 3 months for warranty Service at Lazy Days
@Keystone wants a big hole cut through the floor to take pictures to see IF they are covering the warranty
@ a few months ago service warranty cut a hole in the underbelly and then messed up job slapped it together and got rid of us. Later my husband looked under the RV, the work they did was falling apart!

The strips on both slides have come off.
The window screen plastic strip broke, cannot leave window open due to bugs. All within the 1st month. Purchased new!
Needless to say 1 year 9 months floor is sagging feels like we’re going to fall through the floor,
Had to buy new stairs, both original stairs are trash
    The oven did not work
@warranty is a joke. They messed up more than fixing.

I had to sell my $54,000.00 for $20,000.00 it leaked from front to back the sky lights dry rotted and leaked, cheep Chinese tires 3 blowouts on the same trip the fifth wheel tung bent, fire place quit heating. a/c wouldn't cool the camper but down to 80 degrees.
It was only left out for 4 months the rest of its life was under a new carport I got the day I pulled my camper off the lot brand new.
the 4 slides never worked properly they would bind and have to reset the breaker and start again. I have camped all my life and even as a child with my mom and dad and have NEVER had a camper this bad and sorry built. STAY AWAY FROM keystone.

Are you tiered of caulking your roof ? we'll look no further, I do roofing work on campers. I've been doing it for 5 years now with the same company. We offer a lifetime spray on roof for rv's and and motorhomes, Pro-tek LLC is located in houma Louisiana. We offer a lifetime spray on roof, you'll never have to caulk or seal your roof again. We take your rubber roof off completely to get down to the plywood because you need a good foundation to start from, if you have any soft spots or water damage we change out the whole sheet of plwood, then we prep the camper for spraying and after its sprayed the roof is completely seem less and uv protected. We all so spray your a/c cover and install new plumbing vents which are also sprayed in, for extra protection we install camco vent covers even if you dont have them and the sun won't Deteriorate it like it does to a rubber roof with brittle fixtures. Oh did i also mention we are insurance approved ? the insurance companys would pay to have our roof put on compared to another rubber roof because its cheaper with a lifetime warranty you have any more questions you can call for more in depth details look us up on Facebook and youtube also if you have any further more questions give us a call at +1 985-262-8757, we do everything camper related also, thank you for your time and we always say either its leaking or its going to leak don't wait till its to late 👍 p.s. tell them terel sent you lol.

There are zero industry manufacturing standards in RV’s. Therefore in order for an RV company wants to build a quality product cant stay competitive because most other others are building junk and selling them. We good bucks for these units and feel ripped off after a few years use things break or start leaking.

Matt Zimmerman is just another salesman.....I don't care which RV manufacturer it is, they are all making these things as fast and cheap as possible like Kevin said above. Faster and cheaper = more profits. These manufacturers just throw them together and the attitude is "let the dealers handle the details of repair."
If these manufacturers really cared about making a lighter and quality product, they wouldn't be using MDF throughout the unit. MDF is garbage and it's heavier than real wood. It doesn't hold up to the elements. It all starts at the top.....do you hear us Matt Zimmerman?

They don't stand behind their product, cause they know it's crap, and they do not care about your problems.
