As usual complete review! Always love the history! I have had the regular one a few times and I bought the 10yr at Costco for 32.00 and I enjoy it from time to time!
Great channel, honest opinion i trust. This bottle is 48 bucks in Jersey, Rare Breed is now 65 OF 1920 is 60-65 and knob creek single barrel reserve is 55. Stuff is getting pricey.
Picked up the Blenders Select over the Barrel Strength only cause it was the last one on the shelf 😆 they probably get another case on Monday smh anyways I enjoyed it, little more rough around the edges then the straight Bulleit but still solid drink neat or blended. Bulleit has a special place in my heart for it was the last whiskey I had with my uncle who recently passed. Heart warming memories shared around a bottle and family I'll always cherish. Cheers 🥃
I finally bit the Bulleit (see what I did there? Huh? Huh?) and broke down for the Bulleit Barrel Strength. I'm my second glass in and it's...good. Not great because Bulleit doesn't make great bourbon, but their good bourbon is pretty good. I'm enjoying it. That's about all I have to say about it.
Love the way you blend the history and the tasting of the whiskey your sampling. Keep up these comparison review inside the different distilleries. Great job!
Great review as usual! I passed on the barrel select at $65 (big chain stores)in my area. At that price point I’ll grab another 1920, ECBP or JDSBBP all day. I’ll have to try it at a bar first if they ever re-open before pulling the trigger. Keep up the great work man!!
Haven't had the 10Y or barrel strength yet. I always skip over them at $50 and $60 for other items. Considering you get them cheaper and still don't think they're a great value, I'll probably try them at a bar first.
Gonna have to search for the Blenders Select. I have an unopened cask strength that I found super cheap (local grocery store always has them for under 50). Almost stopped by the distillery on our trip but ran out of time and energy. Thanks for reviewing all of them!
Another great review. I really appreciate the summary and honest recommendations you make at the end. I also appreciate reviews of what we can actually get on the shelf most of the time.
I'm late to this video but I, on a whim today, bought the Barrel Strength (batch 6) and I think it's really good. I don't have a very sophisticated pallet and I'm getting some "dust" on the nose. I can't tell if it is sawdust to corn dust. Overall I'm happy that I bought it. Love the high proof!
I just picked up your top 3 value bourbons Wild Turkey 101, Old Grandad 114 and Knob Creek 9 year small batch all of them are very good and compared to Bulleit and the 10 year, I prefer your value picks.
Thanks for the review, nice to know it's a pass.. This just showed up in Oregon, they are asking $50 at all Oregon liquor stores, same price as Stagg Jr and Larceny Barrel Proof! At that price there many better choices. Cheers!
Jason, how would you say the Bulleit stacks up against say Wild Turkey? Also, did I hear you correctly (sorry watching while I cook), Bulleit doesn't sources their whisky? They have sourced from different distillers? If so, this would lead to an flavor profile which may vary and not stay consistent, correct?
Also, are they actually starting to create their own whisky rather than sourcing product? Just speculation but, if so, it may be better to see what the result is once the whisky is their own.
@@JamesWilson-hw9bv so yes. Bulleit does source still. There picks are four roses distillate. They are close to there own stuff being ready and available for both their bourbon and rye. I was just there on a tour. The barrel strength definitely works in a cocktail. It just depends how much of the bourbon you want to taste.
Your reviews are so in-depth and so great. I love how you compare all of the brands own Bourbon against itself. I myself have pick up the blender select but have not tried it. My favorite of the Bulliet lineup is the Cask Strength.
I just left a comment about this bourbon saying I was surprised Bulleit was not on the list and then saw this video. I have only tried the regular one so far.
I started drinking Bulleit about 10 years ago. I thought it was MGP then. I really learned to love high rye bourbons, they stand up to ice like nothing else. Cheers!
I do enjoy the Bulleit Rye! Those two gave me a push into the Bourbon World! I really love the Barrel am anStrength--but often overlook going back to it. The 12 year definitely outshines the 10 year. I am anxious to try the Blender's Select! Nice informative honest review Jason!
There was a r/Bourbon post recently about the most quintessential bourbon; Which Bourbon is the Most Bourbon? And the most common answer was Bulleit. I picked up the Barrel Strength after high scores from Fred Minnick and was surprised how enjoyable it was.
After passing on the Blender's Select a year ago, I finally found it again and did not hesitate this time around. can't wait to crack it! I still enjoy the 10yr and find it to a very nice sipper, would like the price to be brought down a bit. With Bulleit's level of popularity these days, maybe they can bring some of these other options price down $5.
Recently just saw the Blender’s Select on the shelf in Jersey. Intrigued by it! Cool history and story as usual with bourbon! Cheers Jason! Great job 🥃
The Mash and Drum with Four Roses Single Barrel and Small Batch Select right around the same price point, it’s hard to take it over those two. Interesting to see where Bulliet goes when they start switching over to their own distillate.
Well done Jason, another great review and very timely i was literally just thinking about ordering a bottle of the barrel strenght.never tried it before just the regular and the10. Sounds like it would be something i would probably enjoy because i prefer barrel strenght bourbon in general. Also i appreciate the fact you usually provide some of the history behind the bottles you review. there seems to be a lot of women in the bourbon industry nowadays which i find fascinating because it was once a male dominated industry. Personally i am happy to see the bourbon industry seems to be a equal opportunity work environment and i would say in general they do a fantastic job.
I like the 10 year and I don't like the standard, entry $30.00 version. The single barrel is middle of the pack between the standard and 10 year. I like the Bulleit Rye. I haven't had the Barrel strength or the Blender's Select.
Thanks for doing this lineup. I had no idea the thought is the juice is sourced 4 roses. I picked up the 10 and Barrel Strength a couple months ago but wasn't impressed by either but preferred the 10 (maybe b/c I'm a 4 roses fan). The Barrel was way too hot for me and I had to proof it down to finish off my glass. The Blenders Select has been in my face every time I go into a store right now as if I'm supposed to buy this one...and maybe I will since we're thinking it's also 4 roses. I just don't know about Bulleit overall... Cool bottle/labels, I just feel like these extended offerings are not worth the prices for these. The 4 Roses small batch select, however, is.
Loved this review, I’m a Wild Turkey fan, so you clearly pointed out; nothing here to see (in Bulleit bourbon of course, always something exciting in your vids), I’ll just move on... 😜
Cheers Jason a concise review, I really like the regular bulleit shame it's the only one I've had since the 10 is expensive over here interested in trying the others you reviewed. Hows the rye?
@@TheMashandDrum cheers jason hopefully catch you on the live stream later as I'm already 4 deep and back at the tunes so the drinks will only go down quicker 🤘😂
Great job man. I really enjoy the Barrel Strength (45 here well worth) but found the 10 to be lacking as well.. The 10 just doesn't equal the price point in flavor and will gladly buy the Regular Rye over the 10 and regular bourbon.
What's funny about the "Bulleit Story," assuming it's true, is that to people that know their American history, Mr. Bulleit was an illegal moonshiner that went legit. An "old family bourbon recipe?" Yeah, anyone paying attention knows that that means.
As usual complete review! Always love the history! I have had the regular one a few times and I bought the 10yr at Costco for 32.00 and I enjoy it from time to time!

A store owner told me that his bulleit single barrel picks were from Early Times and Barton. He said they didn't sand the side of the barrel heads.

Great review! Curious about these…watching in may 2024 lol.
For such a "man forward" hobby as bourbon seems to be, there sure are a number of high ranking and successful women in the industry. It's nice to see.
The regular bulleit is My first and my fav borubon is 31$ here
I have a Barrel Strength pick from Binny's and it's amazing. Well done. Thanks
I've pulled the trigger on Bulliet more than once.
Haven't had a buillet bourbon yet. I do like their Rye
Just uncorked my first bottle of Bulleit. The $23 Orange label. I like it on a cube of ice! I would take this to the lake, or cookouts! Cheer's
Love your WoW series, much more relevant to daily living . I see . . . "4Roses Light" thus.

Jason, all, has anyone tried a recent Single Barrel (store pick)? My local guy just got a batch at 104pr for $60. Good gamble? thx!
Any idea if we can expect to see new Blenders Select in 2022?

Having trouble even finding Stagg Jr and Larceny Proof around Ohio I'd definitely pay $50 all week and twice on Sunday 😆
