Danny deserves so much credit for Draftinng the jays. I mean so many guys strike out on those picks. But when Danny had a chance he def made the best of em.
'85-86 Team's toughest matchup? NO ONE. They were NEVER challenged, for one minute, that entire season. The Lakers ducked them too--we all know it.
Don't forget Danny whiffed on a ton of picks too.
Havlicek in jan 1985 said the bird celtics of 84 were much better than his 74 and 76 champions....hondo also said in that interview that he did not know if the bird Celtics were better the best bill russell teams, it was sounding like a tossup.

This was a ridiculous argument. I watched 90% of their games that year, and the 85-86 Celtics Team had 5 Hall of Famers, and Scott Wedman and Danny Ainge were All-Stars in their careers. Their Toughest matchup was NOBODY.
Sichting wasn't a slouch either. A complete 8 man roster.
@@martinbakal1503 My apologies as you are 100% correct. Jerry was captain of the Indiana Pacers before joining the Celtics and was highly regarded. He was a dead eye shooter. That team was a joy to watch every single time.
@@mahmoudshahnazi8374 No apologies needed. Jerry never was an all-star so what you said was completely accurate. That team was amazing to watch. This one also is a lot of fun. Not exactly the same level but given its youth/health it could have a longer run.
