As a long time gardener, I would let the land i grew the potatoes in go fallow for a few years and grow my potatoes in a different area for awhile. That way I could have a good crop next year( hopefully) and let the land recuperate. It’s possible this won’t make a difference, but at least you will have eliminated something.🤗❤️🐝 btw… I get up at 10am and go to bed between 2and4 am

Another night owl yeees 🤗 thank you for the tip! I was really hoping to plant the potatoes on the same patch next year cause I only have two patches cleared (the rest is still untouched field and it's less flat). I wanted to plant them further from the house cause they need less maintenance and no water but I think I might need to rethink this!

I'm no expert gardener but I always read that it's suggested to rotate crops so bugs and issues in the soil can't flourish on one crop year after year.
I see this as especially important for those of us who don't want to use poisons as a means of control.

What a great addition to the bike...a Trailer! Dog carrying, grocery shopping, Camping maybe? I think that jumper fitted perfectly and a great job done after 6mths! Sorry to hear about the potato crisis.. such a shame after all your hard work to care for them and harvest them, hope you find a solution or the community comes up with one! Until next time thanks again for a great relaxing entertaining video and Health@Happiness to you all.

Potatoes, dehydrated in thin circles then bag them in mylar. When ready to use, add them to milk, butter, salt and pepper. They make wonderful scalloped potatoes, you can also add cheese for cheese a gratin. There are recipes on line for bottle potatoe soups, leek and potatoe are my favourite.
Now as where to plant potatoes next year, try doing them in thick industrial garbage bags, again lots of instructions online. Most times you get a better yield and because you choose the soil, it can be disease free. As for the ground where you had potatoes, rake up all the straw, place in garbage bags and deposit it in a dump, so it does not spread to other plants. Wash the area with soap and water mixture and leave it for a year. Vinegar and water mixture is another option to spray it with. You should invest in both a dehydrator and pressure cooker and then you can do so much to store for the winter. These are just a few suggestions I hope they help. One more thing, potatoes need to be stored flat not on top of each other, in a cool dry place but also in the dark so they don't turn green, dry dirt can be used to cover them but it isn't necessary if they are stored properly. You can wash some of the potatoes that look good in grapefruit and water wash, dry so they have no moisture on them and try storing like I said and see if they last, you might be surprised. Grapefruit mixture acts as a bacteria fighter. IT CAN BE USE TO WASH ALL FRUITS AND VEGETABLES, and know that you have peace of mind that your produce is clean from people handling it, remember when being picked not everyone washes their hands. Well that's all from this 65 year old country Canadian who has done alot of perserving and worked at a greenhouse and learned alot from the lady I worked for, now I will shy away from commenting and thank you for your content it is so pleasant and heart felt. ❤👵🇨🇦

With regards to the potatoes, I'm not sure if the weather has been wet and humid where you are, but potatoes really don't like that kind of weather. Here in the UK we have had a very wet and humid summer and lots of potatoes and tomatoes have suffered from blight.
I would consider moving them to a different area and making sure that they get good airflow and/or are under a bit of cover so they don't get too wet. Hay can be a good mulch so I don't know if perhaps it is holding too much moisture?
Also, there might be varieties of potato that are resistant to blight/bacterial infection that you could try?
If I were you, I'd make and freeze lots of gnocchi using the potatoes!

    • @WildSheGoes

Marina, I am so impressed by how you go through a cookbook!! When I get a new one, I go through it and stick post-it s on the ones I would like to make, but of course your way is a lot braver. 😁 I like your fringe, as it adds wonderful definition to your face. ❤

Marina, I thoroughly enjoyed watching you relax! Since you are so talented and ambitious,I often feel like I am a slug. So I could relate to you better knowing you also do a fabulous job of relaxing! The sweater color is lovely, nicely done. My crocheting is limited to beanies for school children, scarves and afghans. O and I want to make pray shawls (Tallis) for cancer victims. Good luck with 🥔! Rest, relax and refresh!

Marina, I have great joy watching your videos. I’m an American (ugh) and your choice of lifestyle is enviable to most of us (I think.) I’ve seen a lot of acquaintances try “van life” and fail…but you’ve got the right mix of knowledge and determination that makes the whole thing work. Having a demanding job in healthcare, I can’t do what you’re doing, but watching your videos is an escape… Anyway good luck with your travels and with your skills I’ve no doubt you will be *quite* sussessful. Bravo, I look forward to your future posts! You’ve great talent and intuition so you’ll go far literally and figuratively. Thank you!

This is a time of plenty, stress comes from planing for the winter. You live how everyone should. By the way, move next years crop of potatoes as far away as possible and plant a different variety. Either leave the existing potato plot fallow for a year or plant a non root vegetable like beans or marrows

1st off you are very much you & who you have come across as for ..many years, your most normal and unfortunately stress gets the better of so many of us,myself included! Since i lost Charlie in January, ive spiralled into severe anxiety and consistently being overwhelmed with everything!
I shall definitely check out Aura. Thank you.
As for the potatoes, what a shame 😢,i would be looking at the hay for causing it as it stays wet for a long time after its watered and im guessing its that what has rotted the potatoes.
I would try planting them next year and see what happens, i know its a huge task and backbreaking but i really think its the hay holding so much moisture on the potatoes & its rotted them.
Your dancing is incredible! Well done for keeping going with it,dancing is good for the whole body & mind 💃.
Take care of you & pumpkin and safe travels to Charlie on his life adventure ❤
