"This is how the pros do it." 😂 you are hilarious. This video was full of so many great ideas. Even though you need more light in your house, & I can relate, it's really coming together so nicely. I'll have to try a good online workout! I live in a beautiful touristy place, so of course I don't want to go hiking because of all of the people. 🙃

love love love the drying rack. I adore these. They dry clothes so much quicker with being higher up :-) Love your design. So going to steal it ;-) Enjoying your creativity and ideas. (PS. yes! technology should work as soon as you plug it in. I can't stand when it doesn't. Who has time for that! 😀)

Nice job on the drying rack! I had one of those in an old house when I lived in the UK - it was on the kitchen ceiling. I left it up year round and had dried herbs hanging from it in summer.
I also had an old house that had just one wood stove in the kitchen to heat it and the best improvement I made was to cut a hole in the ceiling above it and installed a decorative grille in the floor of the bedroom above. The heated air travelled up into the bedroom and circulated on that floor before cooling and returning down the stairs to be heated again. It made a BIG difference to the heating of the house. The only downside was a slightly cooler stairs as the cooled air was always coming down there, but it wasn’t somewhere you spent a lot of time so it didn’t matter to me. 👍🏻

That‘s a really good idea - in Alpine regions heated by tiled stoves there is often a hatch in the (low) ceiling above for exactly this reason…!

I really like the crooked curtain rods. Goes with your home Marina. No sense taking down the drying rack as I doubt if anyone else will notice and complain.
How's the bike battery doing? Got it sorted or just keeping it charged?
Don't worry either about filming and you homes lighting. It's more natural to see it as you do, and if it bothers anyone they are too shallow.
You are the star of your channel, and so natural in front of the lens. You got this Marina, just be you and don't worry about lighting.

You are beautiful , you are intelligent, you make the most incredible things on your own, …you have a beautiful house in a great country, …Please do not read anything by Atwood or Hanya they’re great authors BUT depressing, not the best for winter or if you are living alone. Go for a bike ride? ( before the snow,)… visit a small town, talk to an artisan…..working out is good too. NEVER read Atwood when you are a bit down, ……never! Watch funny UA-cam instead ( no it’s not a waste of time) Make a grilled cheese sandwich?….you cannot swim in that lake but who says you cannot take a boat ride!….Isolation is good but mix it with a little social time. You are only young once. Lol

Marina, I bet the lack of light and warm temperatures might be affecting your mood. I have difficulty in the winter months for the same reason. My highly sensitive soul needs extra TLC during this time of year. Presently I’m in between homes, camping on the southern Oregon coast with my dogs and one cat. I’m collecting drift wood small pieces for decor, thanks for idea! Love Native, thanks for introducing to me. I’m also crocheting a fan lace scarf!

Seasonal Depression is common. Low light does make it worse. I use daylight bulbs and light colors for decor to keep things cheery during winter. It does not hurt to exercise, go to bed early, drink plenty of water, and spend time socializing a bit daily. Never feel ashamed to ask for a little medication to get you through the winter or other times of sadness. Stay warm and positive!

“This is how the pro’s do it!” Perfection! I am so inspired by the way you handled your down day, I often forget how great physical exercise is for our minds. I too have been low lately. A little lonely, a little sad (lol ‘a little’) at the state of global affairs…
I am in UK but have a yearning to be somewhere a little warmer, somewhere similar to your chosen sanctuary. I love watching you create your home. I try to get out into the garden each day, hands in soil is another natural antidepressant. Nature in general.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your energy and spirit and creative contributions. It really goes a long way ❤️

You might want to consider two things:
1: Keep the wood from having rain/snow fall on it - seriously.
2: Make yourself a small passive radiator metal collar for your stoves, maybe even having a very small blower of some style to circulate the heat!

Firstly the curved curtain rails are charming! Do not change these. The drying rack wow to making your own! I've had one for years (that I bought ready made). Top tip, when putting it up and down I have two knots in the rope that lowers the rack. One knot keeps it at a working height so you can use two hands to put heavy wet laundry on it (you will need a knob or a cleat (I have a cleat) for that, at about shoulder height, then the other knot is higher up and is the resting height. I don't work well with grey skies either.

very well done with the rack Marina - I think those are better too. In the summer you could hang some pretty things on it instead of taking it down. ... and you did the curtains beautifully too!

Another answer to feeling down is music. Must be the right stuff, though. Boogie Woogie, Mendelssohn, America do it for me, but lots of others.
Nice job on the clothes dryer.

that pully system thingy is pretty neat. if you changed the ring part for something that was detachable you could take it off and hang it outside any of the days the weather was nice enough. ive been trying to think up some system like that myself

That pumpkin dish looks so yummy. I actually have a few pumpkin and squash and I was wondering what I would make with them going to look up a risotto recipe 😋 Oh I love those curtains. I love to collect driftwood at the river and never thought of making them curtain rods.
