Hi Brian, did you configure permissions for the two tables earlier? Once I added the list onto the portal page, I'm seeing "You don't have permissions to view these records." Or maybe MS has changed the default permission in later versions?

By default, it is not secure. But when you check "Enable Table Permissions" on the list, it will use the table permissions area to lock it down.

The Web API uses the same API the the UI uses so it would respect the user-level security.
