that's a great intro to a subject I'm just dipping my toes into. I want to set up a new business process in Dataverse and looking to see if this approach will work. Looks like it will.
Think I don't understand though is what makes a record belong to a particular person? Is it that they created the record or can you assign ownership in some way? I'm sure this will become clear with digging

Thanks Brian. This is something that I was about to do using Sharepoint but I may go to Dataverse. I'm assuming that what you demonstrated was based on the person who created the row.? Is it possible to change the field on which the permission is based? I''m creating a table where I will create the records but I want to limit the user to data where they are listed in a field other than Created By.

Hi Brian, thanks for sharing this amazing video. I am wondering if it is possible to change the 'Owner' info of a record in a column? May be like 5 different owners for 5 records in a table. I would like to create a table to implement row level security and test it. Would really appreciate your comments. Thanks!

Sure, it's available now. It can be found under Advanced Settings in the gear cog in the upper-right.

How can user see only his records, if his full name is stored in single text column not a owner or ownedby. We have imported excel file in dataverse where employee full name column has user name in single text field

Hi Brian, Thank you foe this but Can we manage row level security in Teams Dataverse?

This looks great!! Is it possible that I have created a dashboard in Power BI using Dataverse as the datasource with few tables (Ex: Table 1 and Table2) and integrate it in Model driven app. If we gave access to the user for that dashboard who only has access to table1 in the Dataverse, can he able to see the complete report? Is it possible to hide the part of the dashboard for that user where the table2 data contains without using RLS in Power BI?

Hi, I want to ask about role management. What if we want to manage user profiles in and excel in onedrive?
How we will validate users thru excel data?
How can we change User() function to take values from excel data?
How we can validate Users using the SQL server data or any other data source?

hello, excellent video. I have a question. How can I define that a group of people marked in the record can modify that record. taking into account that it is only that group of people who can change the record in which they appear and not other records. for example in a projects table, I only want the project team (which is entered in the row level of the projects ) to be the only ones that can modify the project record and not other projects.

how can I show records to a group of users ( to a certain security role )

    • @PragmaticWorks

Ideally, you would place all those users into a business unit and do business unit level security (fill that bubble up half way).

I feel like you breezed over things that may have been important without explaining them. How is the user set as "low privileges"? What is this and how is it done and is it an important first step?
