This episode in one word could have been called "RECEIPTS" - Loved this episode. Much respect to Prince Sam Mulinde Kaddu II for speaking his truth with such honesty and frankness. The resemblance to Mulinde IV is uncanny. Looking forward to Part 2.
hahahahaha Sukali Senior had receipts! Thank you for watching, Part 2 out on Tuesday!
It’s the way sukari was looking at his dad as he talks for me ❤
He really does love his dad right 😄
Yeah💯 but y’all teased us we need the whole episode y’all cut us off jus as it was getting interesting
He loves him yes But i see hurt and trauma, he needs to show sukali lots of love. Men never realise how hurtful their actions damage kids into their adulthood. I watched the episodes and Dad mentions Richard so many times. Clear to identify he formed a bond with him unlike sukali. May be am wrong but that is how i see it.
Dad really just went in with no chill. "Yes she is wrong!" 🤣.
He didn’t hold back 😂
Romantic.....poetic!!!! Even lake Victoria could dry out!!!! I love having Dad's presence in the show, and I love the way his son looks at him as he speaks.
Dad had that Midas touch 😂
I love hearing the older generation tell stories❤
Even though we may not agree with their thinking, its beautiful to hear their stories
@@IMOPODCAST true 😂
Im south African,i belong to the Setswana tribe and as long as i remember and know,no child of ours take the surname of the father unless his paid for the child to be accepted by his family and the child can take his surname otherwise the child take the mothers surname. If you dont love the mother anymore and you guys decide to break up,the elders will allow you to "Marry" the child which then the child can take your surname.
All these issues never happened in the past because before people made children they would be married first or even if they are not when the lady gets pregnant the guy would have been forced to marry the girl and have a proper family.
I have a daughter,13 years and father is "somewhere in the world" never did anything for the child, doesnt want the child and im sure none of his family even know he has a child with me,so why would i want to give my child his surname when his made it clear he doesnt want the child. When my daughter is over 18 she can go and change the surname herself if she wants to.
Thank you for this insight into your culture, very interesting. In your case, I totally understand why you didn’t give your daughter her father’s surname. I hope one day, he does the right thing and becomes a part of your daughters life. Thank you for watching and for your feedback 🙏🏾
I swear I can listen to uncle all day!!!! Such a great episode!!
Thank you! Be sure to watch all three parts 🙏🏾
Dad sounds so wise he definitely changed my perspective on a few things🫶🏾💕
Glad you've learnt a few things from him, please come back Tuesday for Part 2 🙏
3 hour lecture omg something my dad would do , no thanks 😭😭😭, side not the choice of guest as marvins dad was 10/10 , never got bored once , it’s acc a gift to be able to talk about such controversial topics and keep people interested and not piss them off either , up there with your best episodes deffo
Appreciate this feedback. Thank you for watching 🙏🏾
I’m blessed to listen to my boys and Mulinde’s father today, btw I like Uzoma’s insights 😂 all the time
Thank you for watching 🙏🏾
Can't wait for part 2 😂 what a great guest
Thank you for watching. Part 2 out Tuesday 🙏🏾
The way the guys are humble reminds me of when my dad or mum speaks to us kid's even our sitting style changes. Lol! When it comes to last names. I'm from the eastern part of Uganda. Only boys carry their fathers' last name and not the girls.
We must respect my elders 😂
The way am watching, enjoying and learning.
Alot to learn from our parents mistakes.
Thank you guys.
Thank you for watching 🙏🏾
Best episode yet! This is the most Ugandan dad ever! 😂 He looks at him the way I look at my dad, in awe!
African dads have a way of humbling you 😂
Murungu is Zimbabwe.🤣🤣 the way I shouted it out🙈 I couldn’t wait to shine 😅😅
Ahhh I wish you could've called in 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Next time I will keep an eye out. Lol
I’m half South African (from the batswana tribe) and half Ugandan, my Dad is from Uganda 🇺🇬 my parents never married so I carry my Mom’s surname, my dad is very much still in my life (literally the best❤️)
Ps: I have a lot of siblings from my dads side😂😂
…this was very interesting though🥹🥹
Thank you for this insight from South African Culture 🙏🏾
I’m from London but I’m of Ghanaian descent and I’m from the Ashanti tribe. In my tribe, we are given the names we are born and inherit comes from the mother. I enjoy listening to this topic about being African.
Thank you for sharing 🙏🏾
And your son is still on the veranda 😂😂😂😂 can’t wait for pt2
That part 😂 thanks for watching. Part 2 out Tuesday 🙏🏾
Wow 👌 great episode Snr. Mulinde aka sweet stick was great....love his authenticity.
To add to what Snr. Said on naming in Buganda you can't marry someone from same clan so names were also unique identifiers to avoid this. If you liked a gentleman and he was from the Mamba clan and he said his name you quickly retreat as he is considered a brother so you cannot proceed.
Thank you for this insight 🙏🏾
Lol easily one of your best episodes man. Plenty gems from the OG. He's a great story teller too. We know where Marvin gets it from now loool
Like father like son 😂 Thanks for watching bro 🙏🏾
I remember my grandmother saying ’’ children of a female is guaranteed but children of a male is not’’
It’s a cold world 🥶
Wisdom in real life!!1 Big up the fam
Thank you Bro🙏
My Guy Mulinde looked defeated 😂 …. The look he gave the dad
He was on the ropes 😂

I really enjoyed this episode I liked Mr Mulinde’s point of view as an elder. The way way Sukali was looking as his dad so intently too, oh my 🤎🖤. A few laughs as well as always. Can’t wait for Part 2 it was just getting juicy when it cut off 😂🤣
This was fun to watch . Can’t wait for the rest of it
Thank you for watching. Part 2 out Tuesday 🙏🏾
Bring sukali senior back in the future ❤️. We love him

Iam Ugandan and I have man. I resonate with the whole story.. I watched your podcast for the first time and this was really awesome. I totally relate..
Thank you so much for watching and supporting us 🙏🏾
I find the scenario posted very interesting because with such deep rooted traditions, would you not be more careful about who you choose to have a kid with? If the woman you have a kid with is not from your culture, it is not a guarantee they will be okay with certain cultural practices (which I think is in their own right). You would need to discuss this first and make sure they are okay with it, if not, how can you forcably impose it on her? I dont think that is fair. She is right to think, if we are not married, how can I give my child a name someone else chose if the chances of breaking up are higher since the man has not committed to me? I think the man and woman need to discuss and see if some comprise can be made with the name but otherwise the guy may have to yield since he did not choose a woman aligning with his cultural values 🤔🤔
Totally agree with you, all that’s needed here is communication, to find the best way forward 🙏🏾
Proud African Caribbean girl here 💚
👊🏿👊🏿
the part where Prince Mulinde speaks of identity speaks volume....
That part 💯
What a guy! Thoroughly enjoyed this episode..
Thank you for watching 🙏🏾
I totally agree put effort for your kids fight for them even if the mother is standing in the way. Unfortunately the generation of kids today will stand with present parent no closure nothing and we are okay with that. Then that father will ask for the kids when it benefits him or on his deathbed.
Dad came correct in the kanzu! 👏
Crazy right 😩
Thoroughly enjoyed this … hurry and post part 2 plz
Thank you for watching, Part 2 posted 🙏🏾
In my Igbo Nigerian culture, if you do not marry the woman who gave birth to your child then that child will not carry your surname
That’s fair enough
Such great wisdom lesson can't wait for part 2
Thank you for watching. Part 2 posted 🙏🏾
Can't wait to watch, l saw the reel on Instagram
Thank you for supporting let us know what you think and be sure to come back Tuesday for Part 2 🙏

Enjoyed this as always , I really liked listening to your dad talk 🎉, even though I don’t agree with most of what is being said
Yeah we may not agree with everything he says but it’s insightful to hear elders speak 🙏🏾
this is live loved it
Thank you for the feedback 🙏🏾
This was jokes 😂😂😂 “your son is still on the veranda “🤣🤣🤣
That part 😂😂😂
I mean you can still have the African surename and the African American surename. Dads side of the family calls the child the African surename , I know many people who get called names which aren’t on the birth certificate as it is a western practice to have such. The names Nigerians use for the baby at naming ceremonies aren’t always on the birth certificate
This was quite informative
Thank you for supporting, come back Tuesday for Part 2 🙏
It so funny how Prince Mulinde says the funny things and doesn't laugh😭😭😭😭😭😭😭here for like the 3 time💀💀
A true comedian 😂😂😂
I love this
Thank you for supporting let us know what you think and be sure to come back Tuesday for Part 2 🙏
Murungu (white person) is Shona spoken in Zimbabwe 😊
Thank you🙏🏾
So educative
Thank you for watching 🙏🏾
Nah cause why was i laughing at Richard saying he denied him and it came to an abrupt ending😢 moooore 🥹
Check out part 2 😂
they ask you to sign the birth certificate coz you have to, not coz you are more relevant than the mom, both parents have to sign it anyway.
You know sometimes Ugandans can be poetic when making a point
Pops has a good point re: names. Didn't ever think of it this way!
Very eye opening 🙏🏾
Murungu is Shona (Zimbabwe)
Ahh thank you 🙏🏾
Man said I only had two girlfriends, bruhhhh!😅😅😅
Could’ve been worse, could have had 4 😂
Lowkey ol man is petty, he took the kid back at night! lol.... His wisdom come from experience and life lessons.
It was a good insight 😂

Part 2 posted. Thanks for watching 🙏🏾
Bro bring part 2 asap

Some of the words are so similar with Xhosa words
I think it’s because we’re all Bantu speaking people
Murungu we say in zim 1:20
Bantu people have similar language right? 😅
Son: you’re my father who denied me
Father: that’s a lie 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That part 😂😂😂
Now they lost me…What kind of mess is that…if you plant the seed the KID IS your child. What on earth is happening here….knowing you fathered and a child and say you wont take care of the child is shameful
Yeah it quite wild that they’re justifying it. Ultimately the child is theirs irrespective of names. Children shouldn’t be penalised over something like that
Zimbabwe calls them murungu
Thank you for sharing 🙏🏾
Murungu is Zimbabweans
❤❤❤
🤎🤎
Uzi adding his "by the way"'s 🤣🤣🤣
Real cheerleader 😂
The selective male brain who denies his child and the full female brain that ensure the child knows his father denied him🤦🏽
This madness goes on and it needs to stop because only the child suffers 🤦🏽🤦🏽🤦🏽
Child Best interest first always 🙏🏾
🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬
Didn’t this American woman know that it’s how things are in that African culture???? My akata people surprise me sometimes.
Some couples don't have these conversations beforehand, which is a recipe for disaster
I am always amazed at how folks take relationships to such levels without asking the right questions. But I guess am too Nosey not to ask.
I am Zimbabwean and I hate the use of the word Akata, don’t know what it means or what language but I know African Americans/Black Americans do not like being called that. I have heard West and East Africans claim it’s not a pejorative but actually positive. Look if African Americans called Africans “sunshine” would we not feel some way about, they could say oh but it mean this or that and we would say why not identify me as I am. If it’s such a positive word stop using it online and say it to their face.😡
Maybe he Should of married her so they can all have his last name. And as they are from the USA, traditions have obviously weakened so I do believe that until they are married the child Should carry both names as they are not married. I do agree with the weight that the last name holds but marry the women before you decide to put a baby in her.
@@thewolfofgod3908 calm down, I will do my best to say it to my friends face when I see her.
I am Zambian/Congolese and I have been called worse by the akata people since high school, I am only returning the favor. I know how ignat they can be at times. And I won’t apologize so you can calm down. Have a good day!
I can’t believe I sat here and almost became convinced that my son can carry the same name as his father 😭
Lmfao😂😂😂 what's your ethnicity??
At what point we’re you convinced otherwise 😂
Murungu = White in Zimbabwe 😩😅
Thank you for this 🙏🏾
