    Thank you so much, Michael. After seeing this video and practicing it for a couple of hours I was able to change my -14 degree outside in (over the top kill the lumber with an axe movement) to a +3 degree inside out and hit the first ever draw of my entire life! Club head speed increased without even trying and I now actually have a smash factor for the first time as well. Amazing that it took me 75 videos until I could finally link the concept to a motion that I knew. The entire key was I knew how to push the box to 1 O'Clock but I didn't know that was all the motion I needed to swing inside out. I feel like an entire new world has opened up for my golf game. I actually took a picture of the trackman output and I may get it framed because it means so much to me to be albe to join the inside out party. I literally cannot wait to experience the left side of all these golf courses for the first time ever, it will be so much fun! By the way, I spent two weeks watching "Shallow the club" videos and hit about 300 shots only lowering my swing path to -9. I could not make the link between shallowing and a motion (an actual swing) I was familiar with. What a simple exercise this was and after a couple of hours of doing this (remember I am only 2 hours removed from between -8 and -13 degree swing path) I hit 83 shots and got an average of -0.3 which is even misleading because my final 10 shots were all between +1.6 and +8.2. Let me know if I can buy you a cup of coffee or sing your praises in the streets. I am extremely humbled and grateful with an overflowing of excitement and optimism (a stark contrast to the usual 4 letter words associated with my golf game).

    Michael, you just saved me from giving the game up for good. I have been teetering on the edge and decided this would be my last attempt to salvage what little skill I have. I went to the driving range yesterday afternoon after watching this video and visualized the box exactly as you have presented. I couldn't hit a bad shot if I tried. All that resulted was a beautiful repeatable high baby draw. It was fantastic! I've never hit the ball this well in all my years playing the game. I may have found my love for golf again. Thank you!

    This is why I Love watching Michael Breed and adding some tips to my training. His tips and David Ledbetter on the old Golf Academy training segments years ago have helped me become a single digit handicap in tournament golf. Their tips work if you put the time into training you'll see the results on your scorecard.👍👍👍

    I've been watching a lot of your content and and have been getting a little better every time. I do have a question on this video though, particularly towards the end using the box to stop turning. Using the box definitely helps to stop turning early but seems to contradict being open with your hips at impact and instead they are closed or square at impact. Can you please elaborate a little about his?

  • @Mr.mallaer
    @Mr.mallaer 4 роки тому +4

    The reason people swing over the top is because they are right handed dominant and set up in golf is left handed dominant. Left hand on top of the club in the dominant position. In order to overcome over the top move one must make sure they are quieting down right side which is naturally trying to dominate the swing and making sure the initial move is made using left arm not right. Left must lead or else right will want to get ahead and cause over the top move.

    • @Mr.mallaer
      @Mr.mallaer 4 роки тому

      In baseball where we see similar set up, over the top move does not cause problems.

    • @jacobr4558
      @jacobr4558 4 роки тому +2

      That's not entirely true. It's HOW you use the right side/hand during the swing. If you learn to swing on a plane board its an easy fix and the right side can be dominant if you would like it to be. Generally people don't understand the plane so their right side is flinging the club everywhere. It's just knowledge, not a bunch of manipulation and band aids.
      As an example Breed in This video goes way above then below the plane. That is what you call"stuck" as he swings to right field he has to dramatically roll/flip that face which creates more variables to "learn" 😆. It's job security. In other words you may have solved OTT and created 5 other problems.

    My issue here, and it happens when I really try to drop the left shoulder and have that the right shoulder come up when hitting irons is it leads to a fat shot for me, since it promotes hitting up on the ball. Most people that drive their left shoulder down do it because they are trying to hit down on the ball. While these tips seem nice, they don't really explain how to hit down on the ball while essentially tilting back as you are demonstrating here.

  • @ra1der5

    Two things he doesn’t mention; 1) club face and 2) foot position.
    1) It looks like he’s hitting the box with an open club face. Practice this the way he is showing it and it creates a push to the right. The shaft club needs to swing on that 7:00 to 1:00 plane, but the face still needs to come in perpendicular to the target line in order to get that power draw.
    2) Notice his feet are not parallel to the target line. His right foot is back which creates a closed stance and helps promote that swing plane from 7:00 to 1:00.
    And I almost forgot, that 7:00 to 1:00 swing plane; is that a.m. or p.m.? 🥴

    I don't understand how bringing the club face in at an angle to the right, is not messing with the shot?
    Basically what is shown here is "hit ball with an open face". That produces a slice!
    Would that angle not just produce at minimum a push?
    Your missing some key element here. Like how your swinging to 1 o'clock but closing the face more with wrists just prior to contact maybe?

    Blah...Blah...BBah! Don't get me wrong, I like Michael Breed's passion for his craft but NOBODY has yet to fix my over the top because it is not physical - it's mental. I'm an above average athlete with the work ethic, mechanics and twitch to be a pretty golfer yet not one single lesson or drill has addressed the simple fact that at the very top of my backswing my first move is over then down and no matter what I do I cannot FEEL it or STOP it. I can do drills all day long and video a perfect inside out swing and repeat it but when I swing at a ball in front of me my brain takes over and relies on 30 years of bad muscle memory. I understand about changing the myelin in your brain and the 10,000 swings it takes to do that (see Tiger in his swing changes) but I have to start at one and nobody has given me one good swing where my club hits the ball from the inside.
