I've watched 100s of races on here. I was about to shut this off with 75 to go, then I saw your description and decided to see what happened with 50 to go. That was the BEST race I've everseen on UA-cam, hands down! If this happened today...man. Great stuff.
Broadcast started, race started right after. No wasting time. Car is off the pace another car spins out. Race stayed Green. This was when NASCAR was awesome!!
nascar needs to do this along with the networks, if the race may be in trouble with rain, they should cut out the prerace and interviews and just start it
It's funny that you mention that, B/C I don't think that either the Cup or Busch Series race from that track from that year is on here in full, which is funny considering that both races had interesting things happen in them, Obviously the Cup race with Steve Park first win in that series, and in the Busch race with Jimmie Johnson's unbelievable crash.

Fantastic race at Dover..I remember this race vaguely, but I'm more impressed with the crowd size back then! You won't see Dover or most tracks ever have a packed house like that again..

I've said before and I'll say it again, longer does not equal better. It's a misconception that "hardcore" fans seem to have, and though I agree that the racing was better back in the day, the racing is such these days that 500 miles at some tracks is not neccessary. Cars too easy to drive, tires last too long, etc. It's a bigger problem than just the race lengths, trust me.
Only if Dover stays as a single date but I wouldn't mind if they added back that extra 100 miles IF the racing is good with the next gen car. I know it's an unpopular opinion but shortening races isn't a good idea, if you want short races so bad watch IndyCar or Formula 1, those races work as shorter distances, for NASCAR it doesn't.

My first ever NASCAR race and Ricky Rudd was my favorite driver. What a day it was to be a 17 year old.

Because those races, when 500 miles, would last over 4 hours a lot of times. 500 times around Dover is simply too damn many.

I can agree with more road courses - the Montreal and Road America Nationwide races are epic!

500 miles at Texas, Charlotte, and Atlanta is too long plus the 500 laps of Martinsville.
I loved the racing from the mid 90s.

Even I would Concede that Dover 500 Lap Races Were Too Long for a Single Driver.
I think this race could be shortened to 325 laps/miles and be happy with that
