When my wife and I first saw Star Trek IV and Chekov uttered those words to the San Francisco motorcycle cop "Can you direct me to the Naval Base in ALAMEDA?" we squeezed each others hands and said out loud to each other "THEY KNOW WHERE WE LIVE!!" We both grew up in the Island City of Alameda, CA just across the Bay from San Francisco. And yes, the Enterprise was berthed at the Alameda Naval Air Station for some time. A wonderful memory that we live over and over every time we watch ST:IV.!
To think the bridge crew we know and love started out as a bunch of random officers assigned to one ship, and by the end, they were all the closest of friends.
I could not stop and see the white house 5 years ago because I knew I would not be able to control my self asking a CIA looking individual To tell me where to find nuclear wessels, so to prevent a cavity search I left the white house visit off my tour.🖖
