it’s so impressive that even when translated into english, not only did they keep the meaning of the song intact. but they did it whilst picking words with similar sounding phonetics to japanese. the emphasis of the words even seems to be in the same places (my favourite is the second chorus - ‘that emotion’ and ‘daremo’ (spelling might be wrong, sorry)). even the amount of syllables sound similar! it’s absolutely genius and flows so beautifully
OMG das my fav part as well! They sound so similar, so I quite literally mix up the English and Japanese 😅
They always try to play with phonetics whenever Konnie writes the english lyrics. You should listen to both version of Yoru ni Kakeru, it's even more noticeable there.
the only part about the english pronunciation compared to the japanese pronunciation are the r's and y's, they just sound way too american if that makes any sense

Yoasobi is so talented for keeping the charm of the original when singing in English, I sometimes didn't catch the language switch.
If you guys could spot it in most songs, that the two versions had different speed tempos. Japanese was a pinch faster than Eng but overall it really worked out in this video I will say that, well done
probably just more natural to speak at a faster pace in japanese but in english it is harder because it wouldnt be native for ikura

Her voice sounds so different in English that you would easily perfer it in Japanese, it's not that it sounds bad, but it just doesn’t hit as hard as the Japanese one.
I imagine if she’s a native Japanese speaker, pronunciation’s gotta be hard. With either language too! I bet if she were more fluent in English, the singer would sound much clearer and more powerful in the language :)
People have accents across different languages as well. Her Japanese voice is slightly higher, and she ends up punching higher notes in the Japanese edition

Ikura being bilingual is a blessing for Yoasobi as a whole. It bridges both the American and Japanese fanbases perfectly.

The reason both songs can be interchanged perfectly like this is because the song is matched perfectly straight down to the amount of syllables on each line. Its honestly incredible.

It's genuinely baffling how the songs are so perfectly similar that transitions from english and japanese are seamless, if you weren't paying attention to the lyrics you probably wouldn't even notice the switching

@@MrTheb97 magari non del tutto sbagliato ma ci sono alcune parti che suonano male se capisci alcune lingue ma più che altro è per l'ordine grammaticale delle parole in giapponese o in inglese per esempio a 2:35 che dice "nai" cioè no/mai successo che è ripetuto prima da quello inglese però questo video è molto bello se capisci entrambe le lingue visto che ci sono delle transizioni fatte molto bene, bel video comunque
