Nice video instruction. Just thought I would throw in my experience here. My jeep came with the Ranger seats. Two problems I have with my 30 inch inseam. The tilt of the seat does make it harder to reach the pedals. Adjusting the seat forward causes the stock shifter to hit against the middle seat extension in 2nd, 4th and Reverse. That's the bigger problem. I'm thinking of altering the seat and take the middle section out and then bring the fabric down around the seat side and put a console in between the seats. It would give me a cup holder too, which I don't have with the flip down arm rest. I could also try putting spacers under the rear of the tracks to tilt the seat up more and create less of a seat angle. Other than that the seat fits within the confines of the YJ interior and all the seat brackets work like the stock seats do.
Pontiac Grand Prix Seats and the best swap for a YJ. Leather, nice bolsters and a simple install and you can even hook up the heat in them.

Overall,.. pretty good swap on those seats (wont work for me thugh on 2 counts...1: I'm 6ft. 1in. tall lol so my head be poking through the roof haha and 2: I don't own a YJ lol and my TJ seats are still perfect. Other thing peeps might do is go with TJ seats since the tubs are pretty much the same once you pull back their skirts and see whats underneath,Your thoughts on a center console reminded me that manual TJ consoles would fit no problem an some even had a subwoofer built in ( been looking off and on for a while myself on possibly getting a new center console for my TJ and making the ammo can console for my 47 Willys) any ways good stuff as always :D

I went to the junkyard on a 100 degree heat to pull 1997 ranger seats i came home don't have the bolts like the 96 ranger does😥
So needs to be 96 seats?
I wonder if the newer ranger seats would fit. They are way thinner than the obs ranger.
That's exactly what I wondering. I plan on a junkyard run soon to check it out. I really hope they are thinner in the seat area and have like a storage style center console. I'll be bringing one back if so, provided it's in good enough shape. Thanks for checking out the video! Have a great day!!
I picked up some newer ranger seats with center console storage, I haven't worked with them much yet but they have riveted tracks. According to a forum you have to cut through all of the rivets, I'm still trying to figure out exactly how to mount them...@@Poweraddicts

@@Poweraddicts yeah some models have the center console that you can flip up or down for a center seat. I would like to find a nice fitting permanent option for my wrangler
What about seats from a d dodge dakota.
I have no idea, ive never tried putting a set in or even measured the frame to check.

I just got some 1992s that are these same ones
You should probably note it can't be be over a 1996 ford ranger cuz1997 seat dont bolt on.. it doesn't fit

Those are 95 seats if I remember correctly. I think it was about 90 and older the YJ holes are a bit different. Also, I'm not sure what year but I've read the Ranger seat hole patterns changed a little as well.
@@Poweraddicts ok well i was looking for seat ideas ind i really like this idea because as of right now my jp yj i pulled the back seat out and biuld a custom wire tool cage around the rollbar that locks when i lock the back gate and works with my hard and soft top and it would be nice to have the option to be able to ride another passenger im actually heading to the junkyard tomorrow to look for one
