I finally got around to doing this on my 93 YJ.
Great video. The LED lights look so much better. The only thing that was a pain in the butt was getting those flashers in place underneath that dashboard.

Hey, Chuck. Thank you so much man. This video helped me fix my flashers and turn signals, a problem I'd been trying to figure out for months! The electronic modules with the ground wires did the trick. Thank you!

I did a similar job on my 94 yj , tip: I took the plastic housing and gave it a thorough inside wash (a small paint brush works). THAT made a huge difference, made the leds even brighter. thanks for the flasher tip

I just had the same problem and figured out that if you do not change your 194 side markers over to LED also they will give you that problem. You can test it by just removing the 194 bulbs and then turn on the lights and try the turn signals. It solved my problem!

    Thanks man. 1994 Jeep YJ
I always appreciate your videos and the time you take to go through the details. I have all LED lights and upgraded the flashers. Everything works but now I have a new problem. My LED headlights also function as a turn signal. They come on fine but once the turn signal is engaged, it stays Amber and will not turn off. Worked before. Anyway, I simply disconnected the flasher from the headlamp and I am fine without that feature. I love the brightness of the LEDs and the sleek look. Also I had no issues with the dash turn signal lights.
    Thank you!

Thanks, great video! Just finished upgrading my '93 YJ to all LEDs. I didn't have to replace the flasher two years ago when I replaced my fender flares that came with LEDs, but knew I would have to when upgrading my tail lights. That said, I attempted to upgrade my front turn signals/markers first (to 1157 amber LEDs) and this also would require the flasher upgrade - the brightness is well worth this upgrade! All that said, for complete LED replacement (front side markers, front marker/turn signals, and rear tail lights), you will need to replace both the Turn Signal flasher AND the 4-Way/Hazzards flasher to the EF32RL with ground wire for the lights to work properly. And for some reason the flashers are clocked with the two prongs toward the bottom like a "V" - no biggie (once I figured it out).

I have a 1995 Wrangler, it has a 5.3 liter Chevy motor in it, its awesome and I love it. When I bought it and when the headlights were on one of the indicator lights would show up on dash how you described is your Jeep. My jeep already had LED tail lights and Headlights. I figured it was a bad indicator bulb, I tinkered with it and it seemed like a bad connection because then it tuned on. I went and bought LED to replace both anyways. And then I had two indicator lights on my dash and they would not flash with the headlights on, with lights off they worked fine from the start. This has totally been kicking my butt, I have read everything and so many people have said check your grounds. NOT ONE person has mentioned the Electronic Flasher Module variants. WOW, I unfortunately am away right now for a few months but when I get back im going to try that, that has to be the problem considering everything is LED. Actually my side markers are not LED but they will be. Thank you so much for the video, I will owe you a case of beer if it works.. Thank You!!

Having the exact same issue with my LED upgrade once headlamps are turned on. Yet, for me when headlamps are in my signals go wonky and won't functions at all to include rear. I've upgraded my 91 YJ to LED all the way around the Jeep to include adding LED's to the side and back of the hard top. Even installed the flasher upgrade with ground wire. My research indicates the front turn signal/marker lights have a "floating" ground when using the turn signal with the headlamps in the on position. The supposed fix is as you indicated the addition of a resistor in the front turn signal wiring. I've yet to give this a go. I took the easy out and just replaced the old bulbs for the moment. Looking forward to seeing your fix!

I haven't messed with it yet. I'm about convinced it's a bad ground connection somewhere. I say that because some times when I hit a bump the dash lights work like they should. Then I hit another bump and they act crazy again.

Question, I did the upgrade on my driverside tail light so far on my 91 YJ. However, when I turn headlights, the running lights turn on, except when I press on the brake the talight does not brighten. Everything else seems to operate fine, left blinker, hazard, and works as expected when headlights/running lights are off. Could it be a ground issue? Or maybe is it b/c passenger taillight hasn't been installed yet?

hey, I have a 1990 Jeep yj Laredo and 1 of my Turn signals cant fully fit inside. It ends up looking goofy and hangs out further than the other one because its just a tad bit too big to fully put in so either the top or bottom of the light sticks out a bit. I'm not sure what the issue could be.

Hi all. I added the LED lights to the front turn signals and both side markers. Additionally, I added the same 2 LED flashers. All works great less the following. Now, the only time the side markers blink is if the running or head lights are on. Same situation with incandescent bulbs too. That sucks.

How often do you change the fluids in the transfer case differential and clutch on a 99 Jeep TJ

    • @Poweraddicts
      @Poweraddicts  Рік тому

For the transfer case, there is no direct answer for that. It depends on how the rig is treated. If it is wheeled off road on a regular basis vs just highway driven it will need changed more often. If the rig gets wheeled in deep water it may need changed more often. As for the clutch .. I bleed it and forget it until it starts acting up. That is a sealed system it shouldn't get any contaminates in the clutch fluid system. If it does, then there is a faulty component that needs replaced.

I have an 87 yj with similar brake problem. I reached out to Chrysler and basically told to me to pound sand...ha ha. I removed it then cleaned and oiled the old park brake pedal. It has been working perfect now. However It had gotten serious after I got Home from work one day and found my YJ at the end of property. The brake had popped loose. The YJ had rolled down hill and a small and only mesquite tree had stopped it from going over and down a cliff. The yj would have been desert art forever had it gone over :)

The 1 for the front axle is really small and it runs from the driver's side along the firewall over to the passenger side along the firewall and down to the axle. It has a check valve in it right before it goes down on the passenger side. They usually crack and you can temporarily cut that piece out and slide a normal vacuum line over the hard stuff to see if it fixes your problem. I hope this helps!
