No one can see it the same way we did in the past. We were little kids watching toonami with no google or social media and no idea what a super saiyan was. I don't think any moment could ever be nearly as iconic because there are spoilers everywhere. Intros even spoil things in newer animes. I was 9 years old. I was so overrun with emotions for this moment. I cant even explain it, but its something I will never forget.

Actually I knew pretty much the whole DBZ story before the Frieza Saga came out in the 90s. Yeah Google didn't exist, but other search engines did. And I found tons of websites that revealed what happened in DBZ and DBGT.
No disrespect but you really gotta talk less bro. Especially during these big moments in dbz, cuz you low-key spoiled the transformation. This just my fair criticism.
I would advise having HER do the commentary. Or, just recap as non distractingly as possible, summarize what she is thinking/feeling. Just avoid s projecting forward. Honestly the entire intro was a spoil. Knowing it's one of the most iconic episodes itself tells anyone something significant is going to happen. Better to just go in cold. But, you do you :). I’ll never forget that helpless feeling at 9 years old after watching Piccolo fall first, then Krillin mere moments later. I wanted to reach through my tv and strangle Frieza with every fiber of my being! Then “it” happened, and I distinctly remember yelling out loud “he is gonna get his sh*t kicked in so hard now!” as if all the rage that built up inside me as the viewer transferred to Goku himself and manifested as the golden haired warrior we have all come to know so well.
What is so iconic about the Freeza fight is that it s emotional. You get invested in it. At first you feel hrlpless for Goku and friends, and then after the SSJ transformation you are happy to see Freeza get slapped, pushed around until he loses his shit so bad that ends up cutting himself in half :D
“The goat has arrived” couldn’t say it any better. The Goku Frieza fight was the most addictive tv watching until the Walter white /gus fring showdown . Epic stuff

The power had to be tapped into through pain and suffering, or the pain of loss. Which Frieza unexpectedly forced Goku to release. So technically, Frieza was the cause of his own downfall without even realizing it, lol.
