- Colorado band Elephant Revival performs “The Garden” during their very first time headlining the nationally infamous Red Rocks Amphitheatre in 2016. The band is thrilled to share this experience with the world-an experience that every Colorado band dreams of and only some have the very special opportunity to achieve. For this concert, Elephant Revival was pleased to bring Josh Ritter and Rising Appalachia on as support at the Morrison venue. Accompanying Elephant Revival in this performance are spectacular aerialists and fire dancers from Colorado-based theatrical circus group Fractal Tribe. Guest musicians include Leah Song and Chloe Smith of Rising Appalachia and Laurie Shook of the Shook Twins. “The Garden” was written by Daniel Rodriguez and has only previously been released as a live recording on Elephant Revival’s 2015 CD/DVD" Sands of Now."
Elephant Revival looks forward to their second year headlining Red Rocks, with support from The Oh Hellos and Mandolin Orange. Mark your calendars for Sunday, May 21st, 2017. Purchase tickets here: bit.ly/ERTGRR2017
“Lyrically, ‘The Garden’ is part of a larger poem that eventually become two songs. While ‘The Garden’ is upbeat and rocking, its counterpart, ‘Season Song’ off our album Petals, is soft and down-tempo.
Playing ‘The Garden’ live invites an exhilarating atmosphere, uninhibited, mysterious, with no looking back. And what a place to play it-at Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre.
‘The Garden’ beholds one of my favorite lyrics that has fallen upon the pages: ‘The leaves become the soil, and then become the garden. In death how men do toil, a flower for the departed.’
Thanks for listening!”
-Daniel Rodriguez

I have never been to an Elephant Revival show and this one looks the the cream of the crop with Rising Appalachia and probably some I don't recognize. So amazing.
This show must have been incredible. Shook Twins! Rising Appalachia! Elephant Revival! Wow. We can only hope to see this again. So much love*
This is my new favorite group. Their vibe reminds me of Caterwaul.
Fantastic show!
Red Rocks ❤

Great performance! Love to see rising appalachia there too!
killin it
New grass.
I can weigh your heart with a feather
Make blood from your bones
Watching words turn to leather and
Philosophize the stone
Heyeah heyeaha
The serpent circle slithers
His venom spitting riddles
He sheds his skin for hours
Whose own tail end devours
Heyeah heyeaha
The leaves become the soil
Then become the garden
and death how men do toil
a flower for the departed
Heyeah Heyeaha
From death comes life and so on
Please don't stop it goes on
Death comes life and so on
Please don't stop
You can weigh your heart with a feather
Make blood from your bones
Watching words turn to leather
and philosophize the stone
Heyeah Heyeaha
From death comes life and so on
please don't stop it goes on
from death comes life and so on
please don't stop
From death comes life and so on
Please don't stop it goes on
From death comes life and so on
Please don't stop
The description says that Red Rocks is nationally "infamous" but what scandal are they referring to? What has made it infamous?
I'd say that "famous" is more accurate.
"... nationally INFAMOUS Red Rocks Amphitheatre..." lol
Bye, Elephant Revival.....Sniffle.
Poor elephant.
The theatrical group is cool and all but personally I don't think they really add anything to the experience and at worst serve as a distraction. I'd rather just watch the band play.
Me to.
that's a wonderful opinion I sometimes share too but I love this band for how Family oriented and humble they are, they dont always have performance actors or painters, orchestra's lol but this was there first headlining show! I'm always delighted to see a band share the light with their close friends and family! you know how the band wants to perform and what type of Show their interested in. get to know the band a lil more personal something that's rare with music these years!
I thought it was absolutely perfect.
@@andylilyquist3151 Yep, agreed. I like it on that level. Kinda like the Dead used to bring in dancers etc at times. Artistically, would rather just focus on the music, but all good!
Music: Good. Maybe even VERY good. Theatrics: Silly.
Music's ok. The pole dancer's or whatever they are , are goofy.
