Owners probably tried brushing him once his fur was already badly tangled and mats were forming, then he obviously didn't like it and they never bothered again. And sometimes dogs that are badly matted don't look like it, but this puppy... it hurts just looking at him.

@@sherralieberry-majeski5972 if you don't agree with her techniques you can leave 😃 she's fast efficient and gentle as possilbe.. Have you tried to cut a knot out of your own hair? Maybe a dread lock? If its right on the skin you HAVE to pull it a bit or you WILL cut the skin or burn it.. Rather some painful moments during the cut then blood and cuts that last for days or weeks bc she didn't want to hurt him during the trim.. she bonds with them off camera...in these situations it's not great for a dog to realize get when i act up... I am so upset and actually cried watching this poor Yorkie wiggle and cry. I had Afghans decades ago not thinking about how much care they would need. I was young then, and stupid. Now I have a short haired Chihuahua. Pinky doesn't need much grooming but she hates her nails getting clipped. It has to be done, so I get it done twice a month....by me, the mama. My Pinky was rescued from a kill room after her owner died. I'm blessed to have my fur baby and give her a forever home.

Coastal Coyote when it comes to a living creature that you are in charge of caring for, no ignorance isn’t an excuse.
Think if I told cps I didn’t know my kids needed bathes they’d believe it? Think they’d let my kids go with matted hair? Unbrushed teeth or let their basic hygiene lack?

@@tinaditrius5697 Actually, ignorance can be an excuse. The owners probably didn't know how to brush correctly, they didn't know how much a yorkie has to be groomed, nor did they know how mats work. You can't attack the owner all the time. Everybody makes mistakes. (I'm not defending the owner's actions)

I used to work at a grooming salon as an assistant/bather for a few years and this was a common thing with most new clients that bought long haired toy breeds. They claim the dog hates brushing but they most likely tried after the dog’s hair started matting, causing the puppy to scream and the owners to give up on brushing, believing that they’re hurting the puppy. These type of owners usually requested the longest haircut possible and would be upset when we would hit them with reality by telling them the only option was a complete shave down, then training them on brushing and how to use the comb, and to come in every 6-8 weeks for at least a trim if not a full groom. It is sad to see this puppy having to experience this due to the owner’s ignorance. Grooming should be painless and positive for little babies...

If the dog is severely matted (like this one) the groomers shave them first and then wash them.

This actually breaks my heart for the little dog. He's so scared of those clippers and his useless owners couldn't even be bothered to groom him or at the very least, inform themselves on HOW to groom him.
I have three dogs, a schnauzer poodle cross, a rescue mutt and a basset hound. Before I even bought my Schnauzer X Poodle I took a dog grooming course. I was 19 at the time and even I had the common sense to educate myself on proper grooming before purchasing my boy. As a result, all of my dogs are groomed daily, clipped every 6 weeks and have their nails done by me. They're not scared or snappy of brushes, and they handle clippers like a dream. My schnauzer actually enjoys the clippers on him and will sit patiently on his table while I groom him.
People really need to start educating themselves on high maintenance breeds before buying them!

The way your screaming at that dog yelling no is horrible it's in pain squealing and you don't even go softer on him imagine you were a dog covered in matts and giants came and started cutting your hair off and your matts and your in terrible pain but the giants just continue at least go softer when he is in pain your basically ripping his skin off would you be completely still and silent while somebody is ripping your skin off I know that is right to get rid of the matts butt don't torture the dog do it slowly and gently I mean tell me honestly would you be scared if a random giant came up to you chained you up and started cutting your hair and skin of. I can't believe how cruel you are in the way you speak to that dog it's in tremendous pain and you are just like STOP, NO, SHUT UP, STOP SQUEALING , this dog has problems feisty one he is in pain be gentle at least he is okay in the end

Dede is a wizard with those clippers...the pain is caused by owners with no knowledge of pet maintenance.

Why do people get these type of dogs when they don’t even have the time of day to care for these animals!!!

Why, oh why do people not train their dogs when they are small dogs? WALK YOUR DOG! This is not every small dog owner - but it breaks my heart to see an anxious little dog afraid of my super sweet 40 pound pup, then the owner scoops the dog up. You’re scared = I’ll pick you up - you NEED to be scared. Hopefully they will follow through with the tips given to them. And how ADORABLE was he in that bed?!?! 😍

Crystal Goodrich this is so sad because apart from the matting this dog looks so much like mine that I feel its pain

Pathetic! And I caught the owner saying they don't get to catch the stay at home actions of the pup. If they are leaving this breed home all day by himself they really do NOT need this a Yorky. Yorkies need a stay at home person with them!
Grrrrrr pisses me off to think about this sweet guy staying home alone all day!? People can be so selfish when it comes to pets!

That puppy was impressive as hell! I expected thrashing and crying and screaming but he was super good about everything! Hopefully the owners just keep him shaved.
