Simler90 is truly the God of Sims 2 Fixes, right after Cyjon. Simler has e.g. a mod so that two sims can use a regular staircase at the same time! Amazing, isn't it? XD No more Elagandas

first i was like "No more .. what?" and then like aahahahahaha
simler90 is also the creator of Romantic Standards, a mod that completely changed the way I handled romance in the game. I love it, the only negative I can say is that simler90 has the habit of joining several different fixes and gameplay changes within the same mod when they should be different mods so you could pick and choose what you like.
The exercise bike is the pool ladder of Sims 2. I never noticed a problem with it until I played an asylum challenge and everyone dropped dead within a couple of days ☠️

I think that university lifetime wants are not in a game for a reason. Like, if an adult got one of that wants, it would be impossible to fulfill it (without mods or something).

You can always cycle the LTWs if you don't want them, although that requires the SimsModder that can be spawned via TCE or something like that...
The virus/medicine maker, a career reward, is also broken and does not work. I have this problem and someone told me there's a mod for that. Gotta love The Sims 2 community!

I was just searching my comment to add nopke! cyjon, pescado and two jeffs are part of the game development to me because they made this game, without them this game would be soooo broken that I don't even consider that they are modders (crying in NoUnlikOnDeath language).

There's a glitch in Open for Business where you can earn infinite money with the wholesale rewards; Enable wholesale mode, buy an item, then immediately sell it again. You buy it at a discount, sell it full price and pocket the difference. Rinse and repeat. You don't even have to leave buy mode. Easy to avoid, but don't know if anyone else ever noticed.
It's like The Sims 1 all over again.

Argh, they also broke so many features with the last few patches around Into the Future with Sims 3! For instance when you install ItF the rate of receiving opportunities severly drops. Toddlers no longer can talk to people after a certain patch regardless of the skill. Bonehilda used to be able to take care of babies, but that also got broken at some point. Some of the gigs in Ambitions really got buggy after around 2012. And there's a bunch more I could think of. It's a shame, really.

It honestly felt like ITF was The first red flag to what Sims 4 will be, when I look back. The gameplay is fun, but doesn't really fit into casual gameplay well, it is very goal-oriented, sometimes feels like a checklist (not As much As sims 4) and the cas is very niche (what will happen with Sims 4, I feel like mainly st the start, all sims were fashion icons, it was giving Disney movie fashion or ,,I have a stylist").
Fortunately, in the context of the pack, it worked decently. Unfortunately, in the context of Sims 4, it was underwhelming. I am still praying for Sims 5 to be a Sims 2, 3 combined with Sims 4 graphics, but add colorwheel.
Well...now I know why I can never talk to my toddlers and why gigs are so weird.

Didn't know about smart milk, explains why my toddlers were all little Einsteins lol. I stopped giving them skill building toys because of that.

Omg, i'm finally the 69th like.
the most annoying part for me was trying to put that shadow link on the wiki of sims 2, cause some idiot person was saying we could fix the issue changing the shadow to medium, i never hated someone so much on my life that don't know the difference of a workaround and a true fix........... disabling the shadows was never a fix.. never..... glad i could put that info on the wiki today but if i knew the person that was editing it out and saying to disable the shadows to medium i would swear alot... this was years ago.
Well this explains a lot. I saw the switching to medium advice, did that and nothing really changed. I was confused, thinking I did something wrong (not sure what, because changing shadows is easy), because it must have worked for others... Now I know. You were right to be upset, it prevents people from being able to fix the issue quickly, without searching all over the place for solution.
I'll just leave a note that bed ownership mods (like smart beds, or other mods like this) conflict with cc bunk beds, which will make sims randomly reset if any bunk bed is placed on the lot.

What about cc beddings? I mean if it’s a bed from Maxis but the bedding is cc?

OH MY GOD i always wondered why bunk beds are causing this to happen and I eventually deleted them from my game thinking they're broken/not updated to the newest expansion
I started playing the sims 2 ultimate collection again recently, and didn’t know about the smart milk bug! Was wondering why all my children learn lightning fast, didn’t remember that from when I was playing in 2005😅
I know of two events that are broken and they are very good, I hope that a mod will solve them, the first one when a teenager sneak out and the police catch him, in the base game the police give a reprimand to parents but at UC it does not happen the policeman just leaves. The second is also the same event when a teenager is discovered sneak out by his parents, they will give him a reprimand and tell him to go to bed, the only thing to do is enter the house, otherwise the father will slap the teenager, well even though the slap appears in the action queue, the parent does nothing
I remember something similar happened to me but with parties. My sim had a party that was still going after 11 pm, police arrived and then just left. I never had police stop the party before but I'm sure this isn't how it's supposed to go.
About fire safety, if you have the phone next to you, they actually will call the fireman... It works like that. I saw a lot of times my sims doing that.
I honestly love the physiology thing, if I want my sim to gain a full skill really fast i'll just make them read the book and then jump rope or something. Good for a mood boost or achieving a want.
The bed ownership mod will save me from so many annoyances! Yay
I actually like the smart milk error because it can fix itself anytime before a toddler grows into a child, at least with the setup that I have right now (idk if anything else interferes), so some of my child sims end up smarter than others, which I like.

Oh noo, got spoiled on a few things from the Riverblossom Hills series by watching this! Ah well, that's on me.
I've wondered about just how many instances of this are in TS2, it's amazing how such a good game has so many loose strings of code.
Not sure if this counts, but the in game CAS is missing a bunch of sliders which are in the bodyshop CAS. Again can't tell if this is an intended feature or a bug or what but there is a mod which ports the bodyshop sliders to the actual game. For me its very useful with fixing large cheekbones when you mix/match certain eyes, noses and mouths.
body shop has always been more 'detailed' in terms of sliders than normal cas, pretty sure it was intended that way. if you want to make more detailed sims then you can make them in bodyshop, export their appearance to the sim bin (or something like that) then load up sims, go into case and select them from the bin. they might not look perfect like they did in the body shop, but they'll look relatively the same
Yeah, I have that mod + some extra sliders. I think I'll put that in the annoyances video :D I always felt like it was intended for Body Shop to provide more possibilities.

don't be afraid to use piracy if the game is not sold anymore its you consumer RIGHT to preserve the game and get it, piracy is only bad if the dev stil sell the game.
@@gabrielandy9272 funnily enough its not the doing something that is technically illegal part that worries me...its the chance that...while oldgames hosts the version on the internet archive...which i just learned has a legal exception due to their archiving...its the possibility that SOMETHING slips through the cracks and i get a virus

Omg you can fix these??? I've never seen most of these in my game but I've got a couple. The physiology and marriage are defenitly some. Thankfuly my fire skill always worked. I've not noticed if I've got the career thing bug I should check it out!

The pizza! :o And I did always wonder why I'd heard there was pneumonia in the game but never actually witnessed it, and my sims were just getting sick and dying without showing any illness progression. It's just one of those 'eh, I'll live with it' things. Unlike the physiology glitch. Which is super annoying if I want a more realistic skill-building level/difficulty for some sims.

If sims in the ultimate collection don’t remember which bed is theirs, is the thing where ghosts remember if you delete their bed a thing in the ultimate collection? I play the mac version and my ghosts always get happy if I still have the bed they used to sleep on on the lot and upset if I don’t!

The community lot espresso machine that spawns an NPC has never worked for me in ultimate collection. If I tell a sim to buy themselves or someone else a coffee they just walk up and stand there and nothing happens and they walk away. Someone on reddit told me it was known to be bugged. Is there a fix for this? I miss having coffee shops :(

Update: I kept the disease mod in. However, a new problem has come to my attention. My game has been glitching and crashing more for the past few days. Previously, it rarely crashed, but now, it crashes pretty much every time I play. It may be due to the disease mod since that's the only mod I installed recently that isn't just a simple fix. What do you think? Should I remove it? Is there a definitive way to find out what's causing the increases glitching and crashing?
You can run HCDU and look if there are any mod conflicts!

@@Marticore Thanks! Apparently, my only conflict is 2 default replacement hairstyles replacing the same OG hairstyle. I'm still wondering if the disease mod is decreasing performance, though. It _does_ involve hourly background processes. Of course, those processes already take place in the unmodded game, but still...

I personally feel like the fact that you need a degree to be an artist, an actor or a psychic phone pal BUT not to be a lawyer or a doctor or a scientist is perhaps the most broken thing
It's only because those careers are in the base game or other packs, it would be hard to merge them with University for this one mechanic of them requiring a degree. That's what the Edukashun Iz Gud mod is for 😆

I have that weird thing, where when I call a Sim to smutsle with me, while they do come over, they stop dancing after literally clap their hands once and then just stop and leave.
I dunno if it has to do with their fun need being full or just a plain bug...

I have the UC and it does work, there must be a mod conflict. But 50 more lifetime wants from Lamare also includes the university wants.

Is there a mod to fix when children/teens receive good grades but there's an error because they don't have their parent living on the lot to cheer with? I used to get this a lot because I had the grandparents move out with the kids. It resolved when I invited the dad over for when the kids arrived home from school. But a fix would be nice...
First time I hear about this :O If the parent isn't on the lot, the kid will just wave the report card in the air and cheer by themselves!
@@Marticore That's not what happened to my child. I was playing and after a while I realized that this kid NEVER brought any homework with him, but the other child did (who had a mother living on the lot). I put in testingcheats and start receiving an error message when he walked off the bus. From my lackluster programming skills I could tell a a sim was missing for the target of the interaction.
After some trial and error I invited the Dad over, the action played out as it should, and voilà homework appeared.
I miss that baby bottle thing so BAD! I can't believe it isn't in Sims 3 or 4! I don't even play Sims 4 anymore. Sims 2 & 3 are so much betterrrrr
It's on my top 10 mods that doesn't exists yet for sims 3, I'm so happy that in the late months a good part of my all time wish mods for this game were made, and there is one that charges the diaper change and the bottles and there is another that makes you to buy from grocery store to be able to change it or feed the babies, but unfortunately no mod to make all the trash. It's strange that I want my sims to produce trash??

What a good idea! 💡 I actually don't play with mods, but I saw this AMAZING video on how to make the Sims 3 game work better, and there was a few mods suggested to help the gameplay, so I'm thinking about getting them!! I don’t know if this is a glitch, but I thought I’d ask anyway! Is there a way to randomise who kids and teens can bring home from school more? In my game the same few sims are always brought home and it annoys me somewhat, especially for matchmaking purposes
Haven't heard of that unfortunately, but a fantastic way for kids to meet other kids is to go on computer chat! They can only chat with their peers there, no teens or adults :D
this is a common issue in the sims 2, due to the RNG always being the same, its the same reason the neighrborhoods in apartments tend to always be the same ones no mattter how much time you retry the lot even tho theres lot of sims for the game to choose from.
Disappointing, the mod to add the Uni LTWs isn't compatible with Mansion and Garden Stuff. Is there one that is compatible with that stuff pack?

Sometimes beds or toilets will be "stuck" : you can't make the bed, or use one or both sides, same for the toilet. You also can't delete them, because the game thinks someone is using them. Does anyone know how to fix that?
how to put the code/mods? on download folder? or certain folder? because I'm scared if the game got corrupted
Mods go into the Downloads folder. Codes are typed in game via Shift+Ctrl+C.
I spent an ungodly amount of time teaching my characters how to act reasonably on the FreeTime gameversion, and now I am stuck with it because none of my mods work in Mansion because of fundamental changes like expansion flags, greet status, and special handling of apartment zone. There are a lot of sports, fitness and music objects in FreeTime that people will exit too quickly as a Fun Object, and can't practically use them to skill up if one of their other motives is half-full.
Or how about eating in Downtown. People are attracted to the restaurant podium by the Shopping motive and will keep eating repeatedly until the whole neighborhood is fat. Or keep drinking espresso over and over again, which only serves to make the working person money. Or walk very far upstairs to put down an espresso cup or plate. Or how the Iconic Hobbyist calls in the middle of the night, or goes through locked doors to deliver the membership card.
The authors seem to enjoy creating mayhem, and to make newly added features obnoxiously obvious.
The smart milk works well, and saves time going to the fridge and cleaning up the bottle. Yeah, I had my teens learning skill super fast. I had to justify it in the story.
Do you have the fix for mannequin skin? I remember a mod that links the baby texture for it so the game doesn't crash when you have a baby with a sim using that skintone.

I think since they are usually not able to be added to the household, the devs maybe just didn't bother completing their data.

If you ever get to move that townie in, you can give them an aspiration using testingcheats or a mod like Sim Blender

Yes, but you still shouldn't interact with them outside their purpose cause they can corrupt your game.
Yes, social workers have incomplete data. Bus and carpool drivers too, and there are plenty in one neighborhood as well.

I got the disease mod, but now, my sims keep dropping dead due to the flu and even food poisoning. Roaches have become the equivalent to poison. Prior to that, I had gone several generations without a single sickness death. It's starting to frustrate me; I play The Sims for escapism, not a challenge. I wish you had disclosed that by "trickier" you meant deadlier. I got this mod as a precaution should a sim ever reach pneumonia level and it ended up killing off my sims. At this point, I'm considering reverting to a backup and removing the mod.
I really need your help with this; I'm pretty sure you've been playing this game since I was a baby. Please take your knowledge of the game's formulas into consideration to help me weigh the pros and cons. Should I...
A) Remove the mod and keep playing.
B) Keep the mod in and keep playing.
C) Remove the mod and go to the most recent backup.
D) Remove the mod and go to the backup made the day before the first sim died of sickness.
E) None of the above.
I don't find the Disease Mod that challenging, sometimes it actually makes the sickness easier. Are you sure you don't mean the Realistic Sickness mod? That one is way too much!
@@Marticore I'm absolutely certain. I know how infamous that mod is. I followed the link in your description. Maybe, I just wasn't careful enough. One victim was at college, another had twin toddlers, etc. I was always distracted. In fact, the most recent victim skipped work 2 days in a row, thus getting fired, which should've been a red flag, but I thought he was just being incompetent. What do you think?
I think trying to give Sims a more regular lifestyle might help with these situations. You know, getting them to bed at a certain time every night and a general routine, taking care of their needs faster etc. Maybe that's why my Sims almost never die of sickness 🤔
@@Marticore I suppose the problem I have is that I typically play larger households of free-ranged sims. I frequently focus on just one sim at a time (for example, a sim who's on a date) and let the other sims do whatever they want to.
