Robert Lamm wrote the song but Peter Cetera sings lead. This is actually the 4th or 5th song of the set but Danny is such a madman on the drums he kind of knocked his high hat off on the previous number.
...great introduction to this band, that has so much more to offer...highly recommended to follow them more. PS. their very first song of their very first album is called 'Introduction', and its mind blowing!! Don't know a live version of it, but recommend anyway the studio one - fab-tastic!!
I saw Chicago when they toured with the JimiHendrix' Experience; amazing! Jimi was quoted saying that TerryKath is THE best guitarist in the universe. Gotta agree!
Still can't come to terms with how he needlessly died, I just will never understand what a mistake he made. Loved his immense talent so much. God the music he had yet to make. RIP my hero.
These guys were Musicians, and you could tell they loved making music with each other. Thanks for sharing this one. Have you heard anything yet by Blood, Sweat And Tears? Same era, similar brassy, bluesy sound. I think you might enjoy them too.
Terry Guitar. Robert Keyboards, and Peter Bass are the 3 lead singers. Peter was recruited for his voice and was considered the best although they each had their own styles and sound that would work for a particular song.
Great reaction, Blessing. That's definitely one of the more legendary live guitar solos that you'll ever get to enjoy. Vocalist Peter Cetera is legendary as well. He eventually went solo, and deservedly so. A great sample from his solo period would be "Glory of Love." ❤️
Go dig up their debut album when they were known as The Chicago Transit Authority and play these two tracks: "Introduction" and "Poem 58". Guitar player Terry Kath wrote "Introduction" and sang lead vocals. He was called "The White Ray Charles" by his bandmates. Soulful baritone voice! "Poem 58" is nine minutes of PURE FUNK led by Terry Kath on guitar, Danny Seraphine on drums, and Peter Cetera on bass. Kath's guitar will make you want an ice pack for your jaw after you pick it up from the floor! ua-cam.com/video/j8aJiLUaWGI/v-deo.html When they were "The Chicago Transit Authority", they were the house band at the Whisky a Go Go in LA. One night between sets, Jimi Hendrix, who was in the audience, went to their dressing room after catching their first set. He approached their sax player Walt Parazaider and said, "You guys have a horn section that sounds like one set of lungs AND A GUITAR PLAYER THAT'S BETTER THAN ME! You wanna go on the road?" They said "YEAH!". And that's how they became Hendrix's opening act on a national arena tour.
Great Show. Try Rare Earth "I'm losing you." on Ed Sullivan IN 1970 . 20 gals in afros ice skating and dancing to a fantastic song. Most variety shows in that era had live vocals only for a performance. But something is missing in the group of skaters. Watch the video of David Bowie confronting MTV about the lack of diversity of artists music on MTV. MTV was gigantic then.
Chicago - 25 or 6 to 4... Tanglewood !!!! Terry was on FIRE !!! 🔥Also do ... Ballet For A Girl In Buchannon Tanglewood ... The whole 14 minutes and not the cutouts. Terry is the lead singer with the same energy and FIRE.
You might want to check out the Blues Brothers. If you need more from a show band. Also this song launched Leonid and Friends. Which is a Russian/Ukranian tribute band.
Hi Mrs PenPal ! I love your reaction and your opinión about this great band, if you let me give a recomendation of other song of this band look for I'm a man, live too in this concert.Thank you very much ❤ 😀 👍
@@MrsPenPal besides being beautiful you just stepped into an amazing band so keep digging deeper into Chicago. Especially when they starter as Chicago Transit Authority. Amazing music. And you are very welcome 🤗
Three lead singers in Chicago. The Bassist Peter Cetera, Guitarist Terry Kath & keyboardist Robert Lamm all sing different iconic hits from this band. This is just the beginning of the rabbit hole you will need to go down on this iconic band. Stick to the 70s Chicago. Unfortunately, the band didn't really survive the accidental gunshot death of guitarist Terry Kath. In the 80s, producer David Foster ruined the band by phasing out the horns and focusing only on the voice of bassist Cetera and putting out commercial ballads totally stripping the soul of this band. BTW, Jimi Hendrix said that Kath was his favorite guitarist and that he was a better guitarist than himself.
The amazing, indescribable, irreplaceable Terry Kath. One of the greatest solos in all of rock music. RIP.
I've heard that no less than Jimi Hendrix said this was the best guitar solo he had ever heard.
Robert Lamm wrote the song but Peter Cetera sings lead. This is actually the 4th or 5th song of the set but Danny is such a madman on the drums he kind of knocked his high hat off on the previous number.
😂😂😂
Peter Cetera on lead vocals. The great Terry Kath on lead guitar!! 😅

There's actually a live version of "Introduction" from the Tanglewood concert.

Those guitar skills 🤯
Terry Kath RIP was one of Jimi Hendrix’s favourite Guitarists!
Still can't come to terms with how he needlessly died, I just will never understand what a mistake he made. Loved his immense talent so much. God the music he had yet to make. RIP my hero.

One of my favorite bands!! 😅
Great taste
There's a great tribute band that tours the jazz festivals. Still great to hear it live.
I would love to see that!!
Leonid and Friends are a Russian band that tours and perform covers of Chicago. EARTH, Wind and Fire, Steely Dan. They are 🔥
Please do MAKE ME SMILE and BEGINNINGS by CHICAGO seen them 3x ! they are great
RIP Terry. He was a beast on the guitar. To die the way he did was sad. Jimi Hendrix loved his playing. That's a hell of a compliment
fantastic
You can say that again 🔔

Jimi Hendrix once said that Terry Kath is "better than I am."
Not at dressing 😂
I dig U
Thanks
The singer was Peter Cetera
