This is Barry Ryan with the truly wonderful song, a meaningful ballad which haunts me from time to time called ~All Thoughts Of Time ~ written by Barry Ryan with Willie McKeller (& the Verge) who was the guitarist of this band & to me this is a masterpiece & I wish we had more material from Barry with this band. This was taken of Barry's 4th solo album 'Red Man' released in 1971.
I will create videos for every song by Barry & the band, 2 others are almost ready. This video was created in loving memory of Barry & is shared under the terms of fair use, no copyright infringement is intended. Thank you to Stefan & Erhard for their hard work as the audio was remastered by them, 2 collectors from Germany, a big thank you to Stefan for sending me the audio. Now we do have the new digital expanded album versions which we can buy & download but I created this before these became available & love the mix & remaster by Stefan & Erhard.
I created a video by using edited footage of 2 black & white clips (to which I added soft colours) of 'Red Man' as these went well with the feel, I believe. I also added some brief footage of Barry from an interview (blink & you will miss it) as I love this.
I created this video by adding a backdrop of different sceneries to which I then added the edited footage of Barry I selected ( sadly there are no videos of the band) & also a photo I found online of The Verge , & then edited video footage with green screen onto the backdrop video. I also added some extra footage that I felt went with the song lyrics as well.
Sadly UA-cam does not allow me to add links here so I will just add the name of the Facebook page for you all. You can find the page under the name of 'The Verge 1967-1972 '.
UA-cam seems to be challenging small channels & removing the 'privileges' of pinning posts & adding links outside of your own channel & soon also community posts, I believe. If you are in the United States you can photo ID & get your 'privileges' back but you cannot do this when you are in Australia plus I am unsure of how safe I would feel giving out my private details, driving license etc.
I think UA-cam is making it harder & harder for smaller channels as they wish to make profit & of course this channel hardly has any views so there is no profit for them to be made.
Barry performed with this band in the UK, Germany even on TV like Top Of The Pops, sadly the videos were lost & there is still some hope (as Gordon wrote when they were touring all over the continent people with movie cameras took footage of the performances) I feel there must be someone who still has some old videos or footage of those days, perhaps lying in the box.
If you do have any footage please share it with the fans. ====================================================================
Paraphrasing some of what Barry said about working, writing with The Verge in his 2017 Interview with Strange Brew: Barry talked about the band members of The Verge
"They were Scottish guys. Really nice guys. I went up there & we wrote & we put a whole series of tracks together & we played them to Polydor who absolutely hated them & said ‘We’re never going to release this new thing.
This is far too progressive & heavy for you & it isn’t exactly what we want from you at all.’
I had total rows with them (Polydor).
Eventually they did release them in dribs & drabs.
It was a direction that I wanted to go in musically & I was very happy with that but the record company, as usual, didn’t really want to know. They wanted me to stick to a certain formula .They thought it was too risky to come out with tracks like this.
The thing is when you write, you don’t really have any sort of, I don’t know, it’s just something you do very naturally & those songs came very, very naturally.'
The interviewer asked 'I guess it’s also a risk staying with exactly the same sound anyway as the music scene changes?' 'Of course it is. Of course there has to be a sense of dynamism there. If there isn’t, of course everything becomes a bit stale.
You end up copying yourself & shooting the same photograph over & over again. I’ve seen it in photography as well where people just get a style & they stay with it.
That’s what I loved about The Beatles & Picasso & great talent, is that you take a risk & keep trying new stuff. Even if you fall flat on your bum, you at least go out there & try it.' ==========================================================================
I have created this channel to honour Barry & Paul, please subscribe or add a like (a thumbs up) & add a comment if you wish to.

This is so beautiful Tia. Wish we could go back to the 7O's. Especially those of us who are over 60. But I think it's the 70' vibe that keeps us young at heart. He was just so special wasnt he?

Dear Linda, Barry really was such a special wonderful man, singer, songwriter and such a bright soul heart ❤💖. I always loved this song but lately I realize just how brilliant it is and the words are so meaningful ⏳. I remember Barry saying he felt he was an old soul, or someone much older than he really was although he always knew how to have fun and enjoy life as well, but this song that he co wrote really shows his deep thinking aged 22 or so. And it is all so true about time ⏳🕰and what he wrote. I wish we all could go back one more time🕰💝 . I also believe we were blessed as we lived in a magical time , music was at its best, all these new styles of music appeared , everything seemed so new rather than recycled over and over. People were valued for being individual and the peer pressure that young people have today was not there. xx

Thank you so much dear Silvia, I always loved this song so very much and I realize now as I reached a certain age how true Barry's words are about the sands of time⏳. What an incredible gifted 22 year old man he was to write such wise words and co write this brilliant song and sing it with such incredible feel. He always said he was older in his heart and yet he knew how to have fun. I will be sharing more videos of Barry's songs with The Verge. Warmest regards to you in Mexico from sunny Tasmania 🌏🏖🦘🦜, Tia 🧡

Liebe Moni, Dankeschoen fuer deine Worte.
