I created this video as Erhard worked on remastering this in April this year and sent it to me and I am very grateful as the mix and sound sounds incredible.
I used a few different sceneries as a backdrop video for this song as I felt they worked well.
This video was created and has been uploaded under the terms of Fair Use. No copyright infringement intended.
It was disappointing that this song did not do as well as I think it remains a masterpiece and I remember reading in more recent interview with Barry how pleased he was when he met a well respected record producer a few years back ( I think) from the US and he thanked Barry for this song as he loved it so very much. I must see if I am allowed to upload all the interviews I have and share them here with you all.
This is one of my favourite songs ever.
To me it really should have been a number 1 single.
Once again this song represents all that I love about Barry and Paul Ryan. The music, the trademark breaths and yells, the mischievous lyrics, slightly tongue in cheek and you can always see Barry smile at one part of performing this song, it warms my heart every time.
I created this video with footage from a couple of German TV performances and tried to ensure that it is in synch I added the audio & added a touch right to the end and start of a photo montage I created with a fire sunset shot I took. I challenged myself with this video as I never tried to add 2 videos in synch within one video.

I was blessed with getting to know Barry in the late 60's and early to mid 70's and I still believe he was one of the sunniest people I ever met and never held a grudge and seemed to get along with anyone and did not hold any grudges, he was a true one off.
In creating this video I wanted to honour Barry and Paul Ryan and remember them fondly and also continue enjoying their incredible music. I feel blessed having met this sunny talented singer and he and Paul will be remembered with love and affection by fans. RIP

I do not agree with any of the criticism at all.
"The Hunt" was Ryan's first single for Polydor. His previous few singles "Eloise" and "Love Is Love" had been very successful and like them "The Hunt" was written by Barry's brother Paul. However, Barry was "bitterly disappointed with the relative failure of "The Hunt" in Britain and could only really put it down to the fact that the number was too complicated", with Paul adding that it "was not an easy number for people to catch on to".
Peter Jones for Record Mirror wrote that "though there are signs of yet another massive production, in fact this is a much simpler sort of sound - and for me, it has hit written all over it. Barry is sometimes much-maligned, but fact is that Paul writes good stuff for him, and no expense is spared in making his singles "complete" productions. Once this gets over the first over-done bit, it's a jogging impacty piece".
Reviewing for Melody Maker, Carl Wayne of the Move described it as "a tremendous performance. The whole record, and the song, is just a stepping stone away from being a great record. But it tends to fall into a position of uncertainty. The production seems too light and not dramatic enough for what is going on".

Es war enttäuschend, dass dieses Lied nicht so gut lief, da ich denke, dass es ein Meisterwerk bleibt, und ich erinnere mich, in einem neueren Interview mit Barry gelesen zu haben, wie erfreut er war, als er vor ein paar Jahren (glaube ich) einen angesehenen Plattenproduzenten aus den USA traf, der Barry für dieses Lied dankte, da er es so sehr liebte. Ich muss sehen, ob ich alle Interviews, die ich habe, hochladen und sie hier mit euch allen teilen darf.
Das ist eines meiner Lieblingslieder aller Zeiten.
Für mich hätte es wirklich eine Nummer-1-Single werden sollen.
Wieder einmal repräsentiert dieser Song alles, was ich an Barry und Paul Ryan liebe. Die Musik, das typische Atmen und Schreien, der schelmische Text, ein wenig ironisch und man kann Barry immer an einer Stelle lächeln sehen, wenn er diesen Song singt, es erwärmt mir jedes Mal das Herz.
Ich habe dieses Video mit Filmmaterial von ein paar deutschen Fernsehauftritten erstellt und versucht, sicherzustellen, dass es synchron ist. Ich habe den Ton hinzugefügt und am Ende und Anfang einer Fotomontage, die ich mit einer Aufnahme eines Sonnenuntergangs erstellt habe, einen Touch hinzugefügt. Ich habe mich mit diesem Video selbst herausgefordert, da ich nie versucht habe, zwei Videos synchron in einem Video zusammenzufügen.
Ich hoffe, es gefällt euch.
Ich hatte das Glück, Barry in den späten 60ern und frühen bis mittleren 70ern kennenzulernen, und ich glaube immer noch, dass er einer der fröhlichsten Menschen war, (jemand der warm und vollkommen natuerlich war ) die ich je getroffen habe, und er war nie nachtragend und schien mit jedem auszukommen und keinen Groll zu hegen, er war wirklich einzigartig.
Mit diesem Video wollte ich Barry und Paul Ryan ehren, sie in guter Erinnerung behalten und auch weiterhin ihre unglaubliche Musik genießen. Ich fühle mich gesegnet, diesen heiteren, talentierten Sänger kennengelernt zu haben, und die Fans werden sich mit Liebe und Zuneigung an ihn und Paul erinnern. RIP

„The Hunt“ war Ryans erste Single für Polydor. Seine vorherigen Singles „Eloise“ und „Love Is Love“ waren sehr erfolgreich gewesen, und wie diese wurde „The Hunt“ von Barrys Bruder Paul geschrieben. Barry war jedoch „bitter enttäuscht über den relativen Misserfolg von „The Hunt“ in Großbritannien und konnte es eigentlich nur darauf zurückführen, dass die Nummer zu kompliziert war“, wobei Paul hinzufügte, dass es „keine Nummer war, die die Leute leicht verstehen konnten“.

Die Produktion scheint zu leicht und nicht dramatisch genug für das, was vor sich geht.“

He was the best
Barry will always be the best singer of that genre and others forever, he was such a beautiful human being , such a wonderful soul. Paul also was the best songwriter of that genre and of his style and was a truly wonderful soul. I will never forget them and continue, for as long as I am able to do so , create videos for their music so fans can enjoy the music.

Mit diesem Video habe ich es mal anders versucht, es war eine große Arbeit, denn ich nahm 2 Videos von diesem Lied und dann versuchte ich beide zu einem greenscreen Video mir Tasmanischen Landschaften und Wolken usw aufzuladen. 😘❤😻😘
