Bug screen, bug screen, bug screen!!!!!! People its a must have!!!!! If its not automatically part of the designs your doing it all wrong. Should be tent doors and bug screen on the tailgate, and side lower window, doors, yes i see there is bug screen in the upper pop top. It is one nice looking top!!!!
If I were to pull the trigger on t this,,, I would have to go with solid sides and possibly back instead of glass. With the extra width I see broken glass from trail trees at some point.
I respect that this is quality but these prices for what your getting are crazy! One of these for a tundra with the windows which are extra and nothing else extra is $16,000 And the extras I wanted put it over $22,000 Getting up in that range makes me look towards a capri camper you can live in one of them comfortably. Which is honestly what I want. Long term trips wherever I want.
1:51 seals won't matter a bit if you don't address the gaps in the the bed liner first and especially the rear wheel wells. 3rd gen taco is horrible for this.
That is one beautiful top. I really like the flared walls. I'm not a fan of the top. Id like to have a dark top to keep bright moonlight out. Over all a win too me.
dang, I love this a lot!! Currently full time living, driving around the world with up with a Bowen Camper Bed and FWC Fleet, I love all the upper and lower windows you were able to add!!! One of the biggest bummers of FWC, not being able to relax inside the home and enjoy the view. Couple of questions, 1. Are the windows able the be tinted with the tint that is black on the outside but allows you to look out normal. 2. Can you open the windows from the inside.
There's a Tuber tgat DIYed this almost exact camper, minus the flare side, out of 8020. I think he said his was 3k Theres a surplus metals yard hear me that sell Whatever buy the pound at a little over scrap price
Great video on the Tune. Looking for my install kid March. I noticed you had roof rack under the Tune. What rack wad that and do you feel it helps with wind resistance?
Great video, very informative. I’m stuck between this and the project M. Any insights? Also does it come with a jack to take it off or would you have to figure out a way to do so. Thanks!
Looks great and love the modern look compared to my Alucab camper. except for the continued use of the factory tailgate is a big no for me. Until then I’m sticking with my Alucab:)
Ouch that’s expensive and most Overland camper with tents are coming in at 300lbs so that’s about average if not above. lonepeak is less then half the price and GFC are about half. At that price probably go with alucab since it’s actually been trail tested.
Thanks for your M1 review. I’ve not heard this consideration addressed anywhere: Does the overhang, in its down position, interfere with satellite radio reception while traveling?
It'd be more agile than pulling a cargo trailer. The places I'm likely to go, I probably wouldn't want the flared-out sides. I'd for sure scrape them up at some/many point(s).
Solid idea but these campers and pretty much any truck bed camper topper need more windows that can be opened with a screen if dogs are ridding in the back.
@@cgatesgates6631 Sadly very true - I've looked extensively at this "lightweight truck camper" market before deciding to go with the Tune M1, and I was not very impressed with the FWC Project M. It seems great at first, but after seeing quite a few of them up close and reading about the quality and the install, it did not impress.
They're pretty nice, but they're a lot bulkier and more subject to high winds. It depends on how you drive and where you drive, too. I think the Kimbo is like 1,000 lbs. This is about 360 lbs. And it's got a lower profile. I was looking at this one because I like that it extends farther over the stupid 4--door cab that we all drive, thanks to the government. I think that means you have to modify your suspension on, say, a Tacoma. I'd rather have an extra cab with a long box, myself. They went to extra cabs because of the government, too. It technically could hold 4 passengers with those ridiculous jump seats, so the worse gas mileage was acceptable to the EPA. SMH. But the government got it right, because that extra space is handy, and it allows you to have bucket seats in front, which is a huge advantage over the older regular cabs, even though you're a foot or two longer.
There are cheaper options with a similar layout. The flared sides are unique. Others l have seen are around 9K. But they go as high as 20k. Within the market standard.
At the same price point, the 4Wheel Camper's Project M would be a better bet. About the same weight, but decades of experience and a stellar reputation. When this "overlander" fad is over, 4Wheel Campers will be the last company to go out of business.
If you listen closely, the price tag on this is whispering "DIY" at almost everyone watching this. Although I will say, there are some good DIY ideas and takeaways by watching this video.
Why is it that nobody builds an 8' bed model for these truck topper campers?!!!! Most people buy a truck to haul stuff, not drive around pretending you drive a truck! Disappointing!!!
Toys liek this aren't really for people that are counting their dollars. Worth it is relative. When $13k isn't much, the worth it threshold is pretty low.
Initially interesting.....then I looked at the ABSOLUTELY LUDICROUS "upgrade" prices that rapidly skyrocket the price tag far beyond the base price of $13K.

You had me right up to the $13k price tag.
Me too. Maybe the big cost is the glass ?
Dude....if you aren't willing to spend at least $50k do you even overland? 🤣🤪🤡
What's the more affordable option?
That's exactly it. They complain as if other options are far less but that is just not the case. @@Frindleeguy
I was expecting 20K or more.
Wow, that looks great! Room for family, pet, and fishing rods.
That is sweet! Really like the way it flares out to offer east/west sleeping 👌
I wonder if that glass is San Francisco proof?
If I were to pull the trigger on t this,,, I would have to go with solid sides and possibly back instead of glass. With the extra width I see broken glass from trail trees at some point.
All of America is a dumpster.
Lol...not likely

Appreciate you bro! Im down to 3 choices for my Tundra. Ovrlnd, Project M, and this.
Next time I’m in Colorado, I’ll have to take a look at one!
Dang wish these were out before I bought my Super Pacific

$12k…🤯
13K excluding glasses which are an extra 1500.

Do the side windows on the bottom come with bug screens or clear vinyl options??
I hope they make this camper for the Ford maverick!
$12k!?! This shit is getting outta hand.
Biden Omics, our salary is sure to catch up. It's almost election time 😂
Well it’s not made in china and a knock off version is not available on eBay .
14.5K with windows

Aren't they all at least that much?
Super nice design.
Love this camper.. And in comparison to everything else on the market I think its a good value
This is super slick!
360 lbs is amazing! Wish this was available in Europe.
Really good video, thank you!
Great video on the Tune. Looking for my install kid March. I noticed you had roof rack under the Tune. What rack wad that and do you feel it helps with wind resistance?
What's the status on the 3rd Gen turbo kit? Haven't heard anything in a while
Basically a tent on a frame, to mount on a truck bed!

Same. I just looked on their website, and it looks like they don't make one for the 8 ft bed
Great looking unit, but sadly the distribution is extremely limited. I can get to Seattle for a 4 wheel camper M install, I can't get to Colorado.
Looks great and love the modern look compared to my Alucab camper. except for the continued use of the factory tailgate is a big no for me. Until then I’m sticking with my Alucab:)
That's fair! It would be nice to have a full door like Alucab
Ouch that’s expensive and most Overland camper with tents are coming in at 300lbs so that’s about average if not above. lonepeak is less then half the price and GFC are about half. At that price probably go with alucab since it’s actually been trail tested.
Gfcs are $10K now, and speaking as a previous owner, they're trash tents.
Definitely go Alucab. Great resale value. This one would depreciate alot.
Great video you guys 🔥
Is that a roof rack on the Tacoma? Which one? Does it interfere with the camper?
Noticed it uses the same panel latches as the GFC…Southco.
Thanks for your M1 review. I’ve not heard this consideration addressed anywhere: Does the overhang, in its down position, interfere with satellite radio reception while traveling?
This is like the cheapest possible camper. The upside is you can still use your truck. The downside is, it's not outfitted with anything
I’m pitching a Hennessy fly tarp and dropping the tailgate or pulling a 6x10 cargo camper. Looks interesting
It'd be more agile than pulling a cargo trailer. The places I'm likely to go, I probably wouldn't want the flared-out sides. I'd for sure scrape them up at some/many point(s).
Will this camper fit on a Jeep gladiator?
Yes - getting mine this month!
@@joeroot8193 can you show me a picture when it is on? What is the price? I have to import it to the Netherlands (Europe)
Everyone complaining about price has obviously not checked the market. I think it’s a good option that fits right in.
Most of em ain't that quick.
The market is crazy and consumers just keep paying. Madness.
Wake up and smell the roses, the whole market is going, crazy, that doesn’t mean it’s right. Ridiculous prices.
how well does this stay insulted or retain heat or keep you cool in the summer?
So on top of $11k I need to rent a forklift to remove the camper in the event I need to transport tall items on the bed?
No buy a trailer.
@@sweatysmegma pretty sure I'm better off spending $11K towards a toyhauler which has 5x more creature comfort than this. NEXT!!!!

I bet you'll be just fine in a 4-runner.

@@chrisridebike8 grass is always greener is my problem😂 keep it wanting different cars and watching endless car reviews.
What is the width of the bed east to west? Maybe I missed it.
72" for a Tacoma, it all depends on the width of the rails of your truck
Solid idea but these campers and pretty much any truck bed camper topper need more windows that can be opened with a screen if dogs are ridding in the back.
I like the products from R4T but have received zero response, after contacting them several times, regarding an incomplete order. Very frustrating!
No insulation in the roof/walls or blackout option?
I like it
Ok but what happens when you bang the edge of the glass on accident 💥. Price isn’t bad compared to some so some of the other campers out there
Too much light let in, will be very cold because of the construction as well.
FWC project M is the better buy still.
Absolutely not. Project m has absolute terrible quality for the price you pay
