That's cuz these animations were meant to play during a gunfight (assuming you're in one) since the weapons only jam while you fire them, hence why the protagonist goes into a bit of a panic.
@@SpectrumRenBM it's really fun to look at these in a controlled environment and think about how they were designed to get the player panicking during fights. like maybe you only had one guy left and were feeling confident, then suddenly they turn into the most threatening enemy in the whole encounter cause your damn gun is fucked up

@Conor Driscoll Because gun jamming only meshes well with certain types of shooters. If my scattergun jammed in TF2, or my FAL in COD, I wouldn't be a happy camper. Games like far cry 2, the older fallout games, and Metro aren't made much anymore, so gun jamming doesn't really show up either.
The new Reciever 2 game has got just about the most accurate jamming ('malfunctions' if you're an intellectual) in video games to date, well just accurate firearm mechanics in general. Not to mention that the game requires you to actually do the 'un-jamming' yourself and not just watch an animation. Though that game does only have handguns.
I remember one playthrough of mine, I was towards the beginning of the game. One of my extra assignments I got was to ambush and destroy a convoy traveling along the road. I had picked up a worn-out RPG from somewhere, and figured I had everything I needed to take out the truck I was supposed to. So I went and hid along the convoy path for them to pass by. I fired a rocket at them, but it misfired, spun around, and came back at me. I think I came within 3 feet of dodging it. And all the while, the enemy I shot at completely ignored me and kept moving.

I love how the reason they jam so quickly is explained in the lore cause the jackal explains that he bought them second hand from countries during an end to a war or cease fire to resell them later.
that, and that the guns slowly degrade over time. if you buy a gun from the black market, it's good as new. over time it'll wear down until it jams more and more often and eventually goes fubar. picking up enemy weapons, they're already worn and are already entering the jamming process.
Also you're in a wartorn country, where weapons are likely poorly maintained because the warring sides can't afford proper maintenance and replacement parts.
Wish more games would utilize jamming in the gameplay loop, It's so cool and awesome watching him unjam the weapons! Farcry 2 sure was something back in the day!
Imagine slapping a grenade launcher in your hands that can probably detonate (due to condition of all weapons in this game I'm surprised this never happened). Or even better. A GOD DAMN FLAMETHROWER.
2:04 That looks stupid to me, i'd have one hand on the pump and other trying to get the shell out with my finger by pushing it out, the reason I would have my hand on the pump is to keep it from flying forward when the shell comes out. already 2 years, anyway what i just came back to say is why the hell is the ak bolt on the left side. what kind of buffoonery is that, and why is the ar-16 forward assist on the left side, is the ar16 even supposed to have a forward assist??? 3 years?? anyway back then i didnt know the spas was kinda different and unique from other shotguns. no idea why i made this comment not knowing shit about it
You can lock the bolt back on the Spas-12, since that's what it does after it's final round. It's possible to do so manually. So, no reason to hold the bolt back from flying forward when all you'd need to do is shift the pump back a slight further, then forward. Or just hit the bolt catch.
But then again the SPAS-12 is duel mode and is shown to be in it's semi-auto mode, when in semi-auto the grip is locked forward (this game obviously did not portrayed the gun 1:1 as they do rack it slightly) so the best alternative is to grab the tab on the eject hatch. Although I like your thinking.
Squad leader: "Alright squad let's hea- hey recruit what do your think your doing!?!" Recruit: "This guy is unloading his entire arsenal, and uh all of his guns are getting jammed." Squad leader: "Can I watch with you?"
There were times when the RPG would just misfire. The rockets would fall out right in front of your toes, start spinning on the ground and explode. Love this game.
the weridest part isnt hje tries to re seat the mag or cock athe charging halnde but just goes monke mode and beath the ever loving shit out of everything
I wish theyd kept these weapon functionalities in the later games. Especially in 5. Would be funny to see myself and a cultist's weapons jam and it would have to be a fist fight afterward. Not before throwing my gun at him.
The best part with the AK jam is that when the unjam animation is about to start, the charging handle goes down and then returns to its orginal position once the animation is Done.
Started playing this after playing through far cry 1 and instinct predator, I was pretty surprised by how much more enjoyable it was. So fun and interesting despite being a fairly simplistic game.
This was honestly such a cool mechanic. It just wasn't implemented too well. Like maybe if they had a way to clean and maintain the weapons when they get dirty like they do in the metro games. Then you have the option of maintaining it and if you let it go too long and it jams you might have to ditch it and grab a new weapon mid fight. With a little more work and balancing they could have brought this back in the newer far cry games.
All these animations have character and passion put into them. Makes me wish that the next FarCry game will go back to the roots and take the best elements of 2 & 3 and make a proper FarCry sequel

Wish more games would utilize jamming in the gameplay loop, It's so cool and awesome watching him unjam the weapons! Farcry 2 sure was something back in the day!
Hell no, games are meant to be an escape
That damned AK jamming anim has scarred me
Imagine slapping a grenade launcher in your hands that can probably detonate (due to condition of all weapons in this game I'm surprised this never happened).
Or even better. A GOD DAMN FLAMETHROWER.

That looks stupid to me, i'd have one hand on the pump and other trying to get the shell out with my finger by pushing it out, the reason I would have my hand on the pump is to keep it from flying forward when the shell comes out.
already 2 years, anyway what i just came back to say is why the hell is the ak bolt on the left side. what kind of buffoonery is that, and why is the ar-16 forward assist on the left side, is the ar16 even supposed to have a forward assist???
3 years??
anyway back then i didnt know the spas was kinda different and unique from other shotguns. no idea why i made this comment not knowing shit about it
You can lock the bolt back on the Spas-12, since that's what it does after it's final round. It's possible to do so manually. So, no reason to hold the bolt back from flying forward when all you'd need to do is shift the pump back a slight further, then forward. Or just hit the bolt catch.
The shell is probably hot as hell. Another reason that shells and casings are used for bullets and pellets, is to take in the heat.
The barrel is pretty hot so you would hurt ur self
@@doggoproductions1102 its for holding the gunpowder
2:35 HOW it's even possible
The company that made the shells suck at makeing ammo
Or the shotgun barrel isn't built properly
@@phelpsbutnotmichal9360 for how does the actual shell case bend so it can go inside da barrel
@@jaszkowaenduroteam9013believe it or not, shotgun shells can do that, matters if you put that wrong caliber in, like if it’s too small
@@Foxtrot_Kenji ooh to be honest i never knew that even thought i was on guns topic for like 4 years now, thank you for explaining :D
0:46 wait a minute how did makarov turn into a gun i gotta tell shepard price soap and roach
lol
its cool to see genuine frustration from the character just from the hands alone when the gun jams lol
Can you do the exploding animations from this game next
I already have, check my Playlist with Weapon Animations: ua-cam.com/play/PLHIRd7nyZ1j3DGEiCf4kMfTRCnizDpufV.html
Squad leader: "Alright squad let's hea- hey recruit what do your think your doing!?!" Recruit: "This guy is unloading his entire arsenal, and uh all of his guns are getting jammed." Squad leader: "Can I watch with you?"
May I have a sprite cranberry please?
0:35 imagine jamming a rotary grenade launcher and your first instinct is to just fuckin mess with the thing like you don’t have grenades in it
I've yet to see animations with this much flavor, amazing job from the animation team
OMG
Honestly this is such cool and realistic detail, I would love it if newer games have this kind of details..

I love the FUCK IT energy he has when throwing those shells.
3:21 my favorite kind of content fried
There were times when the RPG would just misfire. The rockets would fall out right in front of your toes, start spinning on the ground and explode. Love this game.
1:27 left hand : **casually ascending**
3:24 don’t you just love it when ur gun gets jammed and almost evaporates into space?
These animations look genuine because he looks confused af just like most of us if the gun were using jams
the weridest part isnt hje tries to re seat the mag or cock athe charging halnde but just goes monke mode and beath the ever loving shit out of everything
@@waffleblitzkrieg1765 Feel sorry for his wife
God: "why are there so many bugs trying to go for space?"
The guy: **angry unjamming noise**
Why is Far Cry 2 so realistic in every way, from jammed weapons to even something as far as putting your dislocated fingers back in place.
I wish theyd kept these weapon functionalities in the later games. Especially in 5. Would be funny to see myself and a cultist's weapons jam and it would have to be a fist fight afterward. Not before throwing my gun at him.
The reason there's a lot of looking around is because those are the idles. If you spam R, the gun unjams quicker.
I love how our merc is unsure when to touch the flamethrower in the jamming thing
The best part with the AK jam is that when the unjam animation is about to start, the charging handle goes down and then returns to its orginal position once the animation is Done.
1:35 this is my experience removing batteries from steam controller
Thats happend to me alot
Huh, never actually seen M79 jamming on me. Probably because you only have, like, 3-4 shots before you visit vendor and refresh your weapons.
I know many people didn't like it, but to me it was one of the BEST parts of the game and I was disapointed when it wasn't in the later games.
Escape from Tarkov, Urban Decay: huh
I could imagine being in the middle of chaos and this happens to my handgun
99% chance ur fucking dead
True and that adds the stress of not knowing what to do when that happens 💀
I love the use of the forward assist on the ar 16😂
Started playing this after playing through far cry 1 and instinct predator, I was pretty surprised by how much more enjoyable it was.
So fun and interesting despite being a fairly simplistic game.
That was very funny if in the jamming has got a player voice lines
For a 2008 game, this is amazing that they made it so realistic. For healing animations to weapons jamming and exploding. Its awesome!
The gun: You suck it's still stuck in me
Player:*SMACK SMACK HIT HIT HIT*
4:33 I wouldn't keep shooting after that
*scott from kentucky ballistics walks in* “you just got jammed.”
This is so detailed
7:30 the great amount of soul that this game has surpass almost all fps games, now it is a generic fps franchise with FC5.
All these animations have character and passion put into them. Makes me wish that the next FarCry game will go back to the roots and take the best elements of 2 & 3 and make a proper FarCry sequel
