still waiting for a preteen life stage. teens in real life are so varied and experience so much change and i just hate that you can’t tell who is 13 and who is 18!
Agreed I use mods for that but it still a bit troublesome that teen are almost like adults in Sims 4 and all animations don't match the new smaller size
i honestly think preteens were more of a necessity than infants 😭😭
We already have pre-teens, they're called children! What we need is for the teenagers to not be 18-19 years old. Like if they made them to look like they're 14-15, it would fit better AND make more sense with the young adult life stage. A new life stage wouldn't add anything in my opinion.
I actually think we need to new life stages . A young child between toddler and child (like 5-7) and a early teen stage (about 13-15)
Tween stage! Acne, rapidly changing moods, social need decreases faster. Mix of child and teen clothes. Done!
I mostly agree, except for For rent being better than city living. City living has so much more play value, with the festivals, different cuisines, etc than what I’ve seen from For Rent

@@SummerTokyoNeko It’s less buggy since I use City Living all the time. The whole point of 4 rent is being a landlord and that doesn’t work plus it’s corrupting people’s saves.
Plus, the SDX drop prior to For Rent's release made it so you can now edit the windows and such in the City Living apartments. (Not sure about the ability to change the layouts, though.)
I hate how in sims 4 seasons you can get trick or treaters but your kids can’t trick or treat themselves. And not being able to choose certain costumes. I never play Halloween because it’s dumb af
Kids (and anyone) can ask people for candy but only if you have the spooky stuff pack, during the spooky party event (not sure about the name in english since I don't play in this language but you get what I mean)
I still want an Retirement pack; retirement parties, elder gameplay, and funerals
That honestly should’ve been included in growing together IMO. For a pack that puts such a heavy emphasis on generational gameplay, they really didn’t give much stuff for elderly sims except some clothes & a slither of gameplay.

I did a whole rag to riches gameplay with one of those apartments in mind because of the balcony and when i finally got it and noticed i couldn't put or do anything with it i was so disappointed i just moved my sim to one of the apartments from City Living with a balcony lol
Honestly wish those had just been lots now that we have ‘For Rent’. I think it somewhat works that the highrises in City Living are super tall buildings to be somewhat a shell to give that big city feel without trying to fill a 20 story building with Sims. But the Eco apartments are just a waste of space that could have been lots. Especially since I think they are both 2 family apartments I believe.
Biggest letdown about werewolves is the fact that you cant have your own pack. Maybe the ability to create groups in the sims is a uinqe gameplay feature that is locked behind "the sims 4: get together", but i really wished that once you went though the storyline and completed the pack aspartion, you could make your own pack, where you could bite and infect other sims and make them join you, or you could have people join wilingly+ your werewolevs family members. Have pack mambers challenge you for leadership if you dont meet their demands. You can do those things if you manage to take leadership over one of the exsisting packs, but what if you want to leave those packs as they are for lore sake? What if you want to live in a differnt world and still have the pack aspect of werewolves? You cant do that because the hangout spot of both packs is in the world that comes with werewolves so about every week in-game you need to travel there and donate something to the pack in order to not lose reputation with them, so i wish you could set up your own pack and set any lot you want as their hangout spot
the pack also came a recycled society feature from University, so "unique" gameplay feature argument doesn't really work because they did use system from another EP.
I agree, I thought it was a huge let down. Like the closest I could get to forming my own pack was to create a werewolf "club". 😅

I love the "this not that" format! This is a great idea for the pack parade of broken up micro features that is Sims 4.
Also family players can come in different flavors. Legacy Players play through heirs through many many many generations - a child born to their primary sim will become 'the next sim they play' when thier current sim is an elder or dies. And this is usually done with aging on. Other family players are ones that play frozen in time. They make a family and turn aging off and unless they decide to grow anyone up, the world they play will stay frozen and unaging. They also might just change families for new features and challenges/changes to the game. A 100 baby challenge for the sake of a 100 baby challenge for example, unrelated to any Sim they've played before. And then there's the family rotation which can be similiar to the Legacy, but you play multiple families instead of one and rotate through them. You are usually playing out a story of many families that know each other and who's kids grow up together, but playing it from different sides of the story. And no one is really your primary Sim. The story of an interconnected neighborhood is usually the gameplay. Usually this is played with aging on as well to see the affects of choice from multiple angles.
There are mixes and matches of this, like the decades challenge which is a Legacy style play with extra flavor/twist/challenges. To give one example a rotation might use the idea of heirs from Legacy style play but may not be as locked to a single heir per family. A rotational family style can also grow out of a legacy where you get attached to all the kids so you rotate through playing them out in different households as they grow up and leave home and instead of having a single heir per household, you pick and choose favorites you stick with as time marches on and Sims die off or get to a point where you feel like thier story is complete.

for rent is the most ambitionless expansion pack from all of them, there's literally just residential rentals which is a build mode feature and the landlord system, but it really is just a game pack's worth of content so city living is a hundred times better imo
3:30 I agree with you so much but I also think it could possibly be because it came out first and so most simmers are accustomed to it while with growing together we went years without it so having it or not doesn’t matter we’re already used to the game without it. I still sit on the fact it SHOULD have been a base game update even the world it came with could have been an update imo

I would make all the same choices, honestly. I have both Cats and Dogs and Horse ranch, and never use the gameplay, just B&B. I use the Cottage Living gameplay all the time!! Although, I do use the mini sheep/goats if I don’t have room for a cow and llama.
Whenever i play with pets in my household (which i almost always do), i NEVER put the automatic feeding bowl because its really one of the only interactions with the pets. It forces me to remember their existence. Cows and Llamas in Cottage Living are pretty annoying to me since you have to constantly clean and feed them. I wish there was a hay tray within Cottage Living. I also have the My First Pet Stuff pack and make "my" kids do all the cleaning since it helps with responsibility, etc.
I wish they hadn't given up on refreshing packs honestly, i know its probably not profitable for them but it would be really nice tbh. IThere are many packs that could use a small refresh at the very least...

I really recommend Seasons, Cottage living and City living. These are the packs i still play the most with especially seasons and cottage living. I also really like snowy escape but that’s mainly for the world. I actually agree on the part that cottage living is better than cats&dogs. The cats and dogs get so often sick (very annoying) and don’t feel that special, unique actually (even tho they have different traits?). I really hope they fix For rent because it has much potential, but for the moment i will not buy it because it doesn’t work properly.
Mine don’t get sick unless I let them eat trash/drink from puddles/eat food that’s gone bad? Or I suppose if I have a pee bush they get obsessed with so that they get a squirrel bite or something.
I hate living in San MyShuno, but the ability to learn new recipes at the festivals is cool, and I almost always have my Sims go to the Spice festival for free ingredients. I haven't bought For Rent, because all I see is people complaining about how broken it is, and I already build apartments that work pretty well. I probably will get it eventually, though. I keep hoping they'll fix it. I would love to be a landlord, but I wanna get paid!
The main problem with Vampires as a pack is they suffer from being the firat true occult added to the game, which is why in comparison to Spellcasters and Werewolves they feel so under developed. They were a proof of concept type lifestate, that prooved very sucsessful.
As an occult player, I love them and enjoy how indepth they are in comparioson to previous incarnations, but I do think they're in need of a small refresh juat to bring them up to level with Spellcasters and Werewolves.
Still not convinced that Parenthood adds anything beyond popups and extra homework. Growing Together is subtle, yes, but if you use the conversation/sim type likes along with the base game likes, you really do get different personalities and some of your sims will really get along well and others will dislike each other, and it’s the most personality I think any of the packs can add. Plus there is still a “how well did you raise the kids” mechanic with the confidence levels - it’s just more subtle because there’s no pop-ups involved it just happens through actual gameplay. Not that the final confidence level has that much effect - not that it’s hard to get high confidence - but really, do the parenthood values have that much effect on an adult sim or challenge to them? Parenthood adds school projects and bag lunches. Growing together adds a tree house, puzzles, splash pads, and kids’ bikes. And there’s a lunch box in base game, and a picnic basket in Cottage Living.
What I like the most about Parenting are the school projects. Nice way for the kids tu build up several skills.
Once your werewolf have reached his top level, he can continue gaining werewolf experience and can ultimately get all of the werewolf perks, just as spell casters can get all of their perks. Don't know about vampire perks, I don't have that pack, but I suspect that the same apply.
I really love the repairio spell. It can even repair things damaged in a fire.
City Living : Found out that when your Sim live in an apartment, the food from the food stands is free.
Cats & Dogs... There is Must Have a mod that make your pets playable. Again, sorry for the console players. It also have a raccoon masquerading as a cat breed. So, cats, dogs and a raccoon.
What's the must-have mod for pets if you don't mind dropping it?

I agree with everything except For Rent. This pack is SO buggy that it has the potential to corrupt everyone's save and I don't think it will be fixed anytime soon lol
I agree with everyone you said, except you should have compared Seasons with all the seasons based packs, I personally Prefer Snowy Escape, because seasons makes almost all worlds weather go completely crazy. It rains like crazy in Cottage Living, everyone gets heatstroke and dies, everyone is enjoyingly scared of lightning, and there is lighting everywhere, etc. Unlike that you get a beautiful world in Snowy Escape, you get holiday lots and you get to decide when you want snow, unlike seasons that will pretty much kill your sims, because it is almost always Winter with Seasons. I know this opinion is a hot take but it is what I feel about Sims 4's seasons.🤷♀️

Yes! This exactly! I have Sulani and Snowy Escape for varied weather activities, why in the world would I want to ruin some of the beautiful worlds by making it rain in them all the time, and also completely break gardening for little to no return because you just have to put a free roof over plants and they’ll ignore the seasons (but still be bugged). Plants reverting to dirt piles, plants that stop producing harvestables, plants that can’t be tended… if I want challenging gardening gameplay that’s NOT broken I can use Cottage Living.
When the original werewolves die off...no new ones spawn. My Moonwood Mill is completely empty of any sims, even Greg is gone. I'll stick with Vampires...and Realm Of Magic is my biggest ever regret buying.

I have played all of the Sims 1,2,3,and 4, I really hated 4 when I first played it, the missing subtle things and animations plus the maneuverability made it harder to play and hold my interest, the visuals are the only thing better, I enjoy creating sims and decorating but tend to spend most of my time only doing that, which is sad.
My FAVORITE packs are as goes.
1. Vampires.
2. Parent hood.
3. Get togerher
4. Get famous
City living (NOT much game play but its OK.)
5. Seasons.
6 my first pets
7. Cats and dogs.
8. Cottage living. (Especially good with cats and dogs 👍)
9. Home Shef hustle. (Did LIKE Dine out until it BROKE. Wish EA would FIX it but proably WON'T as they do NOT with other packs. Which is also to bad. 👎.)
10. Spooky day stuff pack.
11. Last but NOT leaste is the Paranormal stuff pack. (I thought and still think it has SOME good game play especially with how you can make the houses be haunted when sims live in the houses on the lots and a few other cool sthing. I also find that when useing the spirts from the lsland living exspansion pack it adds a bit MORE game play into the paranormal stuff pack when in use.

i never thought about spooky stuff being similar to my first pet stuff because with spooky stuff you do also need seasons for the full event, but you're right 😭
If I had a time machine I would go back and not get Dine Out, but get Werewolves instead! Oh well! Whether you are right or wrong, your humor and laugh make your videos worth watching. And those who give you hate can go sit on a tack!
I haven't gotten the Home Chef Hustle yet, but I will soon (tax refund time lol). Owning a restaurant sucks. My favorite food thing so far has been running a bakery as a retail store. You can make things so fast with that ridiculous cupcake factory and make a lot of money. A little aside on that note, I think the most lucrative endeavor is to make paintings and sell them in a retail store. I've made $10,000 of one painting that way, and you can make unique paintings by painting from reference.
I've had Realm of Magic since it came out, and just realized today that Morgan Ember is a female lol. I've only played as a vampire once and found it super boring. I don't have the werewolf one, but I know people like it. Also, the mermaid thing isn't that great, but I LOVE Sulani! It's so beautiful. I had a house there once that just watching my Sim live there made me feel so chill, because the scenery was so pretty.
I got island living & the base game as a cheap combo and i completely agree with mernaids. If it wasn't a combo i would have never got it. I did love ghe conservation path but thats not locked to mermaids
Sims Werwolves I totally agree, are the best okkults but I think with Vampires together, there is so much more fun when they both battle.... San Myshuno is cooler now because you are now able (since a new update) to do the windows, too. The maindoor is still fix but with doing own windows it's quite nicer to furniture the apartements.... for the legacy I'm quite unsure which pack... for the pets I think it depends on which somebody likes... home chef hustle: definitifly get it! I love that small pack and I had so much fun playing it!
I wish S4 had made HS Years more like S2 University so towns could choose their own high school (like you could choose your own university or all three). I don't have HS Years yet, but after playing Cottage Living, I wish there was a country school alternative. I also wished they had done a S3 thing (Generations), or just waited and made School Years that would take Sims' children from primary through secondary school. I would have paid for an expansion to follow your little kids to primary school. Right now, if you leave the house and you have infants or toddlers, they get zapped to preschool until you get back. They have enough money; they should have invested in gameplay with substance. In conclusion: Parenthood/High School Years/Toddler Stuff/Growing Together should have been one pack, Cats & Dogs/Horse Ranch/My First Pets should have been one pack. Dining Out/Home Chef Hustle/Cool Kitchen should have been one pack, City Living/For Rent should have been one pack, Get to Work/Get Famous (because acting is a job) should have been one pack, and Seasons/Snowy Escape/Spooky/ should have been one pack, Island Living/Eco Lifestyle should have been one pack (without the mermaids), Realm of Magic/Paranormal/Werewolves/Vampires should have been one pack (with mermaids and fairies), Spa Day/Fitness should have been one pack. I could go on and on and probably would have saved a lot of money and EA would have worked more on quality than trying to drain our wallets by splitting up everything. That is the main reason why the game sucks: splitting up everything.

i really like the parenthood pack. i use a dlc toggle dingy to switch between games that are base game only and all my packs, iall the kids i've raised with parenthood on are smarter than ones i raise in base game only lol.

regarding parenthood and growing together, i feel like the former gives me much more new stuff than growing together. i can do much more with parenthood (i.e curfews, journals, telling the children to do their chores etc) - growing together isn't really impacting my gameplay in any way, but that could be because i barely play with infants.
Wish I would have listened and not gotten For rent. My game is broken and unplayable. Uninstalled for rent and it is 50% better but the game is just not enjoyable anymore. The less packs the better, listen to Satch’s advice.
i’m gonna try and buy all the ones i enjoy. and i like collecting so i’d love to see a complete game tbh. and the less mods i have to get the better. i do enjoy what the game as is tbh. i’m more of a character maker tbh so i just get a lot of cc. so idk the base game with mods and cc is literally amazing it’s how you enjoy playing tbh.

Based on one of your previous videos where you also said that Parenthood is better than GT I got the Parenthood pack in the recent sale. I don't usually play with families but I got so bored with the game that I challenged myself this time to actually try to play with a few generations of one family. Thanks to this pack it was more interesting.
I was so mad when one of my sims wanted to carve pumpkins but I found out I needed spooky stuff or whatever in order to do that like I feel like that should of been included in seasons.

No hate for your pick with the animals what you said makes sense. But I personally feel (although the EA designed buildings suck) the world is really nice and there’s plenty of space for your sims to go and explore. Also if you get cats and dogs and other packs, the pets become more useful and they can really help your sim. That is, of course, if you fully trained them or your pet has the right traits.
Also love that you didn’t even bother acknowledging My First Pet’s existence
I agree. Sims 4 packs overall are much lower in quality than previous Sims games (Sims 2 & 3). And the Sims 4/EA teams don't bother trying to fix their broken packs.

The issue with the sims 4 is that they want to sell everything as a pack, instead of coming out with free updates to already existing packs. Just like they updated the base game since it came out.
Like there are so many packs that they are confused themself, really.
When I got ts4 I got parenthood with it bc it was on sale so I don’t know what it’s like without it and I got Growing together before playing with infants for the first time so I don’t know they’re like without the pack.

Yes you can turn off fame!
It’s pretty easy to ignore mermaids in Island Living if you don’t want to play them. I play in Sulani all the time without seeing or interacting with a Sim in Mermaid form. If you are on PC, Twisted Mexi also has a toggle off mod for pretty much every occult. But Mermaids so far have had Zero impact on my Sims living fulltime in Sulani without any direct effort to avoid them on my part.

for occults i'd choose spellcasters over werewolves and vampires but maybe it's because i love spellcasters more then the other 2 occults🤣🤣
i like both growing together and parenthood but i'd choose growing together because it comes with the likes/dislikes in personalities
but i do agree it should come with a basegame update or even refresh parenthood, not gonna lie (parenthood is quite high on the list
because it's all about raising your kids right and having responsibilities and stuff but i like growing together a bit more)
as for the animals i choose cats and dogs
i don't vibe with eco lifestyle and i don't ever use the apartments but if i have to choose between city living and for rent i'd say city living
i like that pack slightly more because of the festivals, both poor and rich apartments, it comes with a lot trait and it feels so alive
(world and build wise i'd choose for rent but maybe i'm more into beach worlds type and building each house type in one lot and it has its
possibilities compared to city living)
as for the kitchen part i'd say home chef hustle, you can make your OWN food and sell them compared to dine out and also
dine out is very buggy, it's the second LEAST favourite pack after journey to batuu from each of the sims packs but home chef hustle
it's the exact opposite of dine out, compared to dine out i don't find home chef hustle buggy, one of the less it runs smoothly

The sims community needs to chill. I know people will hate me for this but: Alpha CC and overly realistic things in BB mode and CAS are overrated. I don't have a problem with things like wicked/wonderful whims, or other mods. But I hate how much CC some simers use, to the point it looks like the person is trying to hard to make their sims look good.
YOU CAN MAKE GOOD LOOKING SIMS WITHOUT USEING SO MUCH CC TO THE POINT YOUR COMPUTER WANTS TO BLOW UP WHENEVER YOU PLAY THE SIMS
let people play, if they want to overload CC in their game that’s what fun for them. I use a ton of CC modded objects, not so much for CAS, but a lot for BB. ravasheen is like the queen of modded objects. Like a birthday cake box where you can just buy a cake and put candles on it. No making it yourself needed.
I don’t care about aesthetic CC, but functional CC objects I adore.

I would choose growing together over Parenthood any day. The only pack, except toddler stuff pack that I regret buying is parenthood. It's true that in theory parenthood has consequences but with every decision you have to make you always already know the outcome. And I find this just so dumb. Why do the textboxes already tell you how it's going to affect the child? That's why I never bother with them. I also never really had any bad children even when I don't really do much interaction with them. So Parenthood is just not really interesting in practice

Growing together and parenthood that should be together instead of two packs they should be all in one pack that would be way much better but I don’t know why that decided to split up the packs because the word growing and parenting is pretty much look after your kids until they grow up That’s pretty much it but I don’t know why they split up the packs same thing with cats and dogs and horse ranch these four packs they split up. They should be together somehow parenting and the other pack should be together. Animal pack should be together as well. Somehow they split up into these four packs.

Mine problem’s I have so many packs and my game is so logged that sims4 are unplayable … so I stop buy new packs even I feel I wanna new stuff.
It´s not in this video, but one pack I cannot stand is My Wedding Stories....! I NEVER use it. The only thing I appreciate are the clothing, styling and objects in build mode, but gameplay truly sucks. It never works like you want to and the sims just walk around like you´re just hanging together, suddenly one chooses to go swimming and you´re not in your formal clothes anymore, I mean wtf..? I hate it.
I want Tartosa so bad, but don’t want base game weddings ruined by MWS.
@@TheDawnofVanlife I was hoping the world would work as another mermaid area but honestly the world is not worth it IMO. It takes a very, very, VERY long time for sims to go anywhere as they always spawn away from the lots and the lots themselves are not near anything, (even the delivery person will take forever to arrive) there are stairs all over the place so bike riding doesn't help either. If you have seasons I find it is always cold and overcast. I waited to buy it on special and still regretted it - gameplay is so buggy and I didn't like the vast majority of the clothing either but I do agree the buildy/buy objects are quite lovely.
I actually agree with all your choices, and I would say I'm more forgiving about the Sims 4, as it's my only experience with the Sims.
The only thing I disagreed with initially was Realm of Magic vs Werewolves but after you explained I was on board.

Growing together and parenthood is literally about the same theme, they just made two packs about the same thing as if we wouldn't notice. At this point its just disrespectful towards the buyers 😂 ea literally doesn't care
What game packs does everyone recommend? I am a gameplay/family player. I am debating between Dream Home Decorator, My Wedding Stories or Werewolves? (most others I already own). Opinions are welcome, thanks!
