Here's a look at what I'm performing this fall in Europe (www.joshlayne.... ) and why I choose the pieces I did, as well as some thoughts on how I want to play music I am passionate about and draw the audience in for a shared experience of music that I love, rather than thinking about trying to please an audience whose tastes I can only guess at and never know.
This episode is the third of a trilogy of episode I've filmed this year around the topic of concert programs. Check this video about how I practice and prepare for a concert: www.harptuesda... and this one on the typical structure/framework that I'm looking for in a concert program: www.harptuesda...

Have a wonderful time 💜🎶🌠
Thanks! :)
Will you be visitting the UK any time Josh?
🙏❤️
Happy travelling on your tour to Europe. Thanks for sharing this well-planned, and interesting program.
Applause 👏💕👏
Thanks Peggie!
Hi Josh, this is a thrilling program!! I will very much enjoy hearing the B flat Major Partita among all the other excellent and varied choices. Your own composition is gorgeous and as for the guitar concerto, I had to play something about it so I played those great melodies on recorder, some years ago. Have a wonderful, safe trip!!
Thanks so much, Sue!
Is there any way you could do an arrangement of the Rodrigo Concerto for lever harp? It is one of my most loved pieces. I would purchase it in a heartbeat
Hah, it hadn't crossed my mind before but now you're not the only person to ask. I will have to investigate and see what is possible on lever harp :)
I was also wondering if you would take your own harp? Thanks !
Yeah, the logistics of flying with a pedal harp are pretty daunting so I just use harps on location - much easier :)
Thanks for the reply. I wish I could be there, the programme sounds awesome!
Hi Josh. It looks like Ill be in your workshop in Germany, yaaaaaay! =)
So maybe I catch a concert also..
So if Moldau would take you short time to learn - do it! That would be something for me =) to hear our (Im Czech) Moldau from you!
Tomáš
Hah, that's awesome, see you there! No Moldau for this tour - maybe next one :) Love that piece so much!
@@JoshLayne I will be driving 8-10hrs to get in Kissleg for workshop, so maybe you will kindly play Moldau for us in pause =D and I do not emotinal blackmail you right now =D
But at least I hope you will play anything on one of my lap harps =)
Looking forward so much to meet you in person!
Tomáš
@@HarmonieZvuku-harfy-kalimby That's commitment! I'll definitely try to play you bit of the Moldau! :) See you in October!
@@JoshLayneaaaawesome, that will be lovely =)
Josh are you going to travel with your own harp? And will the concert be recorded so that those of us who can't travel can see it?😊
Hi Sandra, no, impossible to travel with my own pedal harp - I will be borrowing and renting :) The Hamburg Trio Concert will for sure be streamed, and I'll hope to get some good video out of the various concerts!
