Hi Alison! I am collecting the Seasons of the Witch Oracle too. I have Mabon, which I LOVED ❤ and Samhain, again I also loved. I used both, Mabon & Samhain together for the month of November. This month, I am using my Yule deck. So far, while I do like the series, a few cards I have pulled, did not resonate with me? There not "bad" messages, but different "feel" than I had when I used Mabon & Samhain. But, I'm still going to use them. They are gorgeous! I think you'll like the foil edges. Maybe the connection to this deck is because I have a real hard time with this season in general? I recently bought Imbolc...can't wait to use them...the foil, also gorgeous!! Before I end this I just wanted to mention that George has the same "M" on his forehead like my kitty did. She is no longer with us, sadly. We had to put her down 3 years ago this month. Anyway, loved this video...have fun with your new deck!! Blessed be ❤🌙🕯

Yay, a nice cosy video by one of my fave youtubers! Many years ago, got to be at least 30 years? my mother in law bought a rooted Christmas tree which she donated to us afterwards - it was about four feet if that, and as we were planting a conifer hedge, it went in beside them. Lord knows how tall it is now but it's waaaaaaayyyyyy taller than the house....one day I am sure it'll have to come down but for now, it stays. I had used to hang lights on it but as it grew it started to take them with it :) I'm so sorry to hear about your hubby's fall - look after yourselves, and feel wrapped in loving comfort. Lighter days will be here sooner than you think. BB xxxxx

I am wishing you a peaceful and gentle Yuletide Season. Christmas is always a time of so many emotions. Memories of precious times gone by that we can never get back, people we miss, people we have lost. My mother passed away 7 years ago, September, and my father is now 96 and living in a senior residency. He manages amazingly well, but we all know it is simply a matter of time, and a sudden phone call. Christmas used to be celebrated at their house. Now, with no children, we celebrate it mostly by ourselves. My MIL has Dementia and is in late stage 6, at age 92. She is doing poorly, and we grieve for her kind and generous personality, so vibrant, a fellow booklover, and one of my best friends. There is a darkness on Yule, but a light, too, full of memories and reminders of how lucky we are to have had them for as long as we did and all the wonderful memories. And now my husband and I make our own traditions (watching LOTR every Christmas), exchanging stockings, singing to the trees on the eve of the Winter Solstice and carols over our local chipmunk's hole! We await our first heavy snowstorm and hunkering in for the long winter, with joy and merriment in our hearts, to chase away all the heavy things. May you and yours find that joy as well! xxx
@@faeriehearthwitch6185 I’m so sorry you’ve got so many painful memories to deal with at this already emotive time of year. I wish you the peace of the season and send you all my love xxx

I totally agree with you about the nonsensical “poems” on the Samhain Season of the Witch cards. There is even incorrect, reversed usage of “thou” and “thee”. Honestly, it drives me crazy.
YES!!! I noticed that too! Honestly it just makes me cringe. The whole deck is ruined by the 'poems'. Such a shame, especially when I've really enjoyed the other decks in the series!
On another note, is there any chance you can make a video on how to select the right tarot/oracle deck for yourself? I want to get one but chances are it will be online so I can't just how it feels before purchase....
I love that you honour both yours and your husbands path. But let’s face it, it gives Pagans an excuse to celebrate a Christian event doesn’t it LOL I agree with you re-the Christmas/Yule tree being alive and not plastic. I hate all things plastic to be honest. When I did celebrate Christian events when my kids were little what we did, was, we bought a tree in a pot of soil and we would pull that in every year and decorate it and when it was taken outside, of course it grew and over the years it got too big to drag inside so we planted in the ground in the back yard. I know that’s not what everybody can do especially if they don’t have a backyard or anywhere to put it and keep it alive throughout the year. I think I have expressed here before that as a Pagan I no longer celebrate any Christian events and haven’t done for over a decade. As I am on my own, I don’t have to worry about someone else’s spiritual path. I’m in Australia so it’s not Yule here for us but when it is as I live in a forest I bring in a branch that has fallen from a tree, and I decorate that for Yule. Your tree looks amazing. You did a great job decorating it and I bet it smells amazing. But yes the cleanup can be a pain in the arse LOL thank you for sharing Alison. I look forward to all your clips and I try to watch them all the way through❤ PS I love the ethics of the company that you purchased your tree from, that makes me happy😊

Blessed be ❤🌙🕯
@@sallybennett5758 ahh yes George has the perfect tabby ‘M’ on his noggin! So cute.
I’ve loved the other decks but the Samhain one just left me cold. A shame but never mind! The others more than make up for it xx
Hello Alison. Lovely video. Thank you for sharing the Yule season! I have the Book The Lost Spells…I haven’t read it through yet but you are right the book is brilliant! I also want to get the Lost Words. I too love books. Blessed be sister ❤️
Oh it's such a beautiful book! I'm so glad I got it! Many blessings to you xxx
Thankyou so much for this lovely video. Sp soothing during a really sad and fearful time in my life. This is the first year that I will not be hosting my parents. My mom's pain from her cancer is getting worse and my dad's health is declining. I am super close to them. My heart goes out to you and your husband. You have created such a special UA-cam channell where I feel safe to be vulnerable to share truthfully. I really appreciate all you do. I also wanted to say thankyou for the beautiful items from your Etsy shop. Your items are made with such love and care. Your thoughtful and loving note included in my purchase truly touched my heart.
Sending loving thoughts to you and your husband this holiday season.
I am so very sorry that you are having to go through this heartbreaking time and I really wish there was something I could do that would help. I promise you that you are safe here. I keep a VERY close eye on the comments because I feel I have a duty to protect our community from darkness. There is enough of that in our everyday lives! And thank YOU for choosing to buy products from me. I am so glad they have brought you a little joy.
I am sending you and your loved ones my heartfelt warmest wishes. Please look after yourself xxx
@fifty-somethingwitch2406 thankyou Allison for your kindness. I too am very sorry about the pain that you and your husband are going through your holiday season. I am sending you a big virtual hug across the pond. I am taking more ritual baths after your video on how simple they can be. I was wondering what kind of bag you use that is waterproof and that can contain herbs without them seeping out. I have ground herbs.
Lovely video as usual Alison , thank you for taking us with you . I feel the same about the Samhain deck , what’s with the nonsensical ‘poems’ on the card . I’ll probably rehome . Wishing that your hubby’s recovery continues smoothly xx
@@tsailyn2004 yes!! The ‘poems’ are absolutely shocking! Complete nonsense and so disappointing. So many people said that they love it so I was really hoping it would grow on me but no. But never mind! It’s not like I am short of decks! 😘xxx
BB xxxxx
@@denisehill7769 oh bless you sweetheart, how lovely ♥️
Quite a few people have told me the same thing about their rooted trees that just kept on growing!! 🤣
Thank you so much for being here xxx
@@fifty-somethingwitch2406 Thank you for creating this space to be in! Always brings a lift to my heart when your videos pop up. BB xxxx
Hi Alison, you absolutely are quality is every video you put out and even though I am a new subscriber I look forward to your videos greatly. Sorry to hear this time one the year is hard for you. Big hugs from NZ.
Thats so lovely, thank you so much for being here! I am so glad you’re enjoying my channel xx
This was so lovely, I would love to have a real tree but my Siamese cats would destroy it lol. I have been to Chesterfield when I have visited my friend and if we go again I would love to visit Huckleberry Willow, it looks like a beautiful shop. The tea shop you visited also looked lovely. I think I would really love The Dead of Winter book, I will need to have a look for that one. Really enjoyed this video 🥰💖
@@SpiritofAvalon oh you would love Huckleberry Willow! It’s so beautiful with so many lovely things to look at 🥰
Thank you so much for watching xxx
Now that you mention it, the dark did seem to come suddenly. All our seasons have been very off this year. Hope the hubby gets better by the day.
It really did! BANG, there it was! xx
What a lovely gift to come home to 🤎
Re the oracle decks, the Samhain one was the first one in the series that I bought. I didn't notice anything 'off' with it, but I was so excited to get it that maybe that passed me by. I also have the Yule one and love it. I do think that as each one has come out they have got better. I hope you enjoy the Yule one
Sending love and hugs to everyone who finds Christmas/Yule difficult 🤎
@@coraclouden2506 it really was ♥️
I’m really looking forward to opening the Yule deck! I’ll do it this weekend I think! 😍
Hello Alison thank you for sharing your lovely video with us, it was so lovely to see you choose your tree and see the beautiful end result! I'm so sorry the season is clouded with sorrow for you, it's so hard sometimes isn't it. I've been feeling quite nostalgic this year remembering Christmases as a child and that wonderful feeling of excitement, now I have two two year old grandchildren to spoil! The coming light of Yule will be most welcome and I look forward to your next video, ❄⛄
@traceyshea2559 Aahh I hope you have a wonderful time with your grandchildren! How exciting for you! ♥️♥️
What a beautiful video (as always). Thank you! The author of Lost Spells, Robert Macfarlane, has co-written an album with English folk singer Johnny Flynn (he did the theme tune to The Detectorists) and it is a beautiful album and well worth a listen - it's called Lost in the Cedar Woods
@@beckypurplepetal1852 ooh thank you so much for the tip! 🥰
yes! one day when i finished work, poof it was dark! so glad your husband is on the mend. my issue with yule is alllll the advertising around the christian holiday and emphasis on winter when it's not winter yet (sigh). awww, your tree is lovely. such wonderful, generous gifts 🩵
@@wren1019 you’re absolutely right! I try to disregard it but it’s not easy. I think the key is to just do it your way and do whatever brings you the most joy. Sending you much love xx
Hi Alison, thank you for this lovely and thoughtful video....Yule is not the best time of year for me. My mum passed on 27th December... it's a while ago now, but it still affects me. I cherish the memories and they are wonderful 😊
But that's what it's all about....love, friendship, family passed and present..and the welcoming of the light.
Sending Yule blessings, warmth, and healing to you, Mark and all in need at this time 😅xxxx
@@alleyjobes4870 oh bless you. I’m so sorry. My lovely Nan died on that day too. I’m so glad you have wonderful memories that bring you so much comfort xxx
Hi Alison. I'm glad to hear that Mark is on the mend. I hope you both have some much needed rest over Yule 🤎 The Tree Amigos looks like a lovely place, and their efforts to be more sustainable are fab. The books sound good - I may treat myself. Blessed Yule 🎄🎉🎊🎄
Ahh the Tree Amigos are fab, it's always a lovely experience! And I really hope you treat yourself to the books!

In my Crone’s years’ experience, some years are like that….the ebb & flow of life….it does however help us appreciate the energy of the opposite times more…. I wish more Tree vendors were more like this….first let me say there is no judgement of others on my end but as much as Real trees are absolutely lovely, for me they are alive and living things and I can no longer dismiss that fact or indulge in their passing…. Regardless of their disposal… my little ornamental Tree will suffice in all its Grandeur 😊…. Have a Merry Yuletide with many Blessings
I completely respect your point of view. For me it's all about balance and I feel that the care I take for Mother Earth in other aspects of my life earns me my tree once a year! Sending you all my love and warmest wishes xx

I’m so sorry for your losses in the Season…. On this day (December 9th) is the anniversary of my husband’s passing 15 years ago….the Season has been bittersweet since….. for me it’s a Season of bringing out and reliving cherished memories and thoughts which will be once again, be carefully gathered up and bundled back into my heart for another years’ turning of the Wheel looking forward to your Solstice Eve video With much love and many blessings…..
@@Ladythyme I am so very sorry for your huge loss. It must make this a very conflicting time for you. I wish you comfort and peace in the warmth of the returning light. Much love to you xx
I am deeply sorry to hear your hubby had a fall and not been well.
I wish him a speedy recovery. I loved the visit to select the tree. The cafe you showed looks beautiful and cosy. I am partial to loose leaf tea and it was lovely to see the selection of teas and caddies. You have created a loving and welcoming space for us to join together on your channel. Northern Tea Merchants is wonderful. So many lovely blends to choose from and the café is gorgeous. Thank you so much for watching. I hope you have a wonderful Yule xxx
Love the tree but if I may make a suggestion..instead of tinsel how about making paper chain out of sheet music. I did that this year.
I love tinsel. It stays ☺️Lovely idea though!
you should check out the music group Spell Songs. They pair Robert McFarlane's poems to music and it is absolutely beautiful.
Ooh thank you so much for the tip! ♥️
I will definitely do more tarot videos in the future. I already have it on my list! 🥰
@fifty-somethingwitch2406 thank you! I think I am getting some for Christmas, and I chose the deck but I am terrified that them and I won't gel! 😄 😄
Thank you so much! You're so lucky to live where you do. I've ever been to Australia and to me it's like a magical faraway world! Yes real trees are an absolute pain in the arse but I love them and I wouldn't have it any other way! xx
"The circle I'm talking about is the one with you in it..." ❤😭
My best to you and Mark. Thank you for your good thoughts- mine are with you too
