I used to live for the A's. A fan since they moved to Oakland. But I have never seen an MLB team self-sabotage themselves to the degree that the A's have. It's bad enough they trade away their most talented players almost on a yearly basis, but now the threats to move to Las Vegas (or wherever) are too much. I can't get excited for them or attached to players who probably won't be here next year...or the team that may move. A's fans have been loyal through all this, but the team doesn't seem to have the same loyalty toward the fans.
Agreed. We all know and appreciate the how the front office does their best to keep the team competitive, but the ownership needs to invest more money into the product. It’s hard for fans to stay interested when players they’ve grown attached to are routinely traded (especially during arbitration years). The 2018-2021 core could’ve gone further had they brought in 1 or 2 B tier starters (no offense to Edwin Jackson or Brett Anderson).
As much as I want to believe the A's is staying in Oakland, they are going to LV. My wife was at the Port of Oakland yesterday for a business meeting and briefly talked about HT. Sheng Thao really doesn't care about HT and thats why she has been MIA. It only matters for the former mayor Schaaf because she was trying to save Oakland last team from leaving. With the recent Cyberattack, the City of Oakland will likely have to pay millions. It's over man, and I am a die hard fan.
MLB wants to expand...$2 billion for expansion. The Rays will remain in Tampa Bay; the A's will re locate to LV. Then the expansion battle begins aiming for 2026 start with a new alignment and playoff format.
MLB RSN problem not addressed here. Many RSNs are slated for bankruptcy. The RSN serving Vegas (AT&T Sportnet Rocky Mountain) is likely shutting down. Vegas is already a much smaller tV market than Northern Calif. At least the A's are carried by Comcast which has not threatened to shut down. A's reportedly are receiving approx. $48M a year from NBC Sports. Can they get anywhere near that in So. Nevada? I say not. It negates some of the positives of relocation short term when the longer term A's make more TV money in the Bay. Maybe Vegas (or a smaller market) would make more sense if all TV money was revenue shared ala the NFL. But I just don't see the Yankees or the Dodgers etc sharing their local TV deals. This RSN thing is a huge deal and it will be a consideration in where or if the A's move. The Raiders share equally in the NFL TV money. A's would be stuck trying to sell rights in the 40th biggest market. A's are smack in the middle of Tv market #6. Why the frig would MLB want to abandon that?
Yeah, I’ve had the same questions. Would they really go to such a smaller TV market? But then again, maybe the A’s would be MLB’s sacrificial lamb to get closer with the gambling market :/
I have been a fan of the A’s since they moved to Oakland but if they move to Las Vegas I’ll be headed to another team and besides what gives the commissioner the right to tell a team to move to another city in my books it makes no sense
California, you want more “affordable housing?” Make it a lot easier for developers to build and develop. Too many environmental and zoning requirements.
When I was in Oakland last year visiting relatives the A's game I went to appears to have not drawn a thousand fans... How can the fans complain about the owners when no one shows up to the games? As a fan of a minor league team that doesn't control their roster whatsoever, It pains me to see more showing up for a cellar minor league team than a major league team in of all places, densely populated CALIFORNIA once known as the BASEBALL state... Amarillo is NOT a large market anywhere near as large as the Bay Area in Northern California...
Vegas is definitely a destination city that attracts visiting fans… baseball is different from football so I wonder how things would turn out in that case
Owner ship can’t even keep players. That’s been a problem with all the teams in the east bay it’s ownership, Raiders, no money, same thing with athletics no money they want other cities to pay for their stadiums. The city of Oakland couldn’t stop the Warriors from going to the city. He could’ve built here just like he did there it’s all Bullshit. All these people complain about the city let’s see if they were going to move to their city if they would pay for their teams stadium with their money meaning taxes. Always easy to point fingers. Fisher should sell the team.

Closest thing I saw in sports was the sac kings under maloofs but that’s nba
As a life long Oakland A's fan I agree 💯 percent
With most teams it's the on field things u worry about, with the A's it's always the off the field things u worry about.

Sheng Thao doesn't even know what a baseball is
Las Vegas A's??? Extremely sad!!!
The City of Oakland is 2 Billion $$ in Debt. Complete financial Mess. They couldn't keep a WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP Basketball team. They gone
More to the story!!!

I was im NoCal this past week visiting from TX and drove close to HT. I can’t see anything ever happening there.
Is there a specific reason it HAS to be Howard terminal? That’s one question I have
A’s new motto “ Moving To Vegas”.
There going to Vegas period!!

i want them to start winning those trophy's like the other teams again
It would take Oakland 75 years or never to build Allegiant Stadium
Welcome to Allegiant Stadium!!! Home of the Las Vegas Athletics!!!
After losing the Raiders, then the Warriors this whole ordeal is heartbreaking.
They don’t care about fans feel; it’s about the money. There’s way more money to be made to the MLB if they move to Vegas. This is pretty easy.

Welcome to Vegas!
Brodie if I had renders for a’s ballpark ideas in Oakland how could I possibly get them to you
Vegas has a lot of chief fans. Haha
@@johnmarshall4399 what im talkin bout baseball
@@johnmarshall4399 They do! More fans of other teams than Raiders
Pray for the A!!!
California, you want more “affordable housing?” Make it a lot easier for developers to build and develop. Too many environmental and zoning requirements.
And Nevada has no such zoning requirements. Yep Oakland can't compete with that.
A shame that no progress has been made ..

A’s need to learn from Raiders move. More fans of opposing team dominating stadium
Vegas is definitely a destination city that attracts visiting fans… baseball is different from football so I wonder how things would turn out in that case
