This video is a long overdue update on my Sentricon Termite Bait Station Installation video.
I installed 15-20 stations nearly 1 year ago and I'm just now getting around to checking them out. (I did find some termite activity as you will see in the footage.)
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to drop them in the comments below and I'll get back to you ASAP. - Розваги

Thank you for updating us
Great video!
Congratulations on the find. I've been in pest control for almost 3 years and still only seen activity in one bait station. They are very effective at termite prevention.
Really? That’s interesting. I have multiple stations set-up around the house but maybe I just got lucky. Hopefully it’s not inductive if a larger termite problem on my property
@@WesleyAllenNC The colony is either on or off your property. Either way leave them in place. You are helping reduce the termite colony.
How long have they been in place?
Actually that only proves the baits don't work
@@michaelmerck7576 Why?
That or they just aren't very effective
Thanks for sharing video
Hi Wesley, very good videos, I like your straight forward talk. I have 2 questions - 1: how do I kill/treat termites that are attacking my wood floor? 2: what would you do with a 12-15' concrete patio outside the house, how would you treat the termites in that situation?
Yeah man you don’t have to worry. That just means the termites ate it and they got eliminated. I work with these every day. They are doing the job 👍 love the videos by the way!
That’s good news! I just posted an update video and the one I pulled out has had termites in it for at least 2 months.. it’s just up the hill, maybe 20 ft away from the empty one in this video
I loved the dog!!🤣🤣🤣
Hey thanks!
Wes, I appreciate your efforts in creating both videos. Unfortunately, there is some incorrect information about the Sentricon system. It's important to note that Sentricon is limited to use by licensed pest control professionals, and purchasing it from an online store is a violation of the system. I hope you won't experience any further termite damage.
Where can I buy those, great info thanks.
Wes: I’m very new to all this but saw one vid where the exterminator showed each station had a bar code and I believe a piece of metal implanted in the lid of the station so that they could use a metal detector of sorts to find lost buried stations. Yours that you bought didn’t have this? Your thoughts?
Hi. THanks for the great video. Just curious if you set them in a fence-like pattern as the Orkin site suggests? They say to set them every 10ft about 12-18" from the building.
I went every 10 feet around the house and then placed a few in some strategic locations (near old tree stumps and in-ground fence posts)
do you fill your traps with soil/debris?
Great video brotha! Have you bought refills for the bait stations yet? If so, where?
Hey thanks. I haven't gotten any more recently. It seems your supposed to be a pest control company or dealer to get them. Most likely the second hand ones are attained from less than scrupulous individuals..
eBay
Thank you for sharing this update! How can I purchase the refills for the Sentricon bait stations? I have 12 stations that I’d like to refill.
The only place I have been able to find the now days is EBay. The manufacturer has strict rules about who can get them now (certified and approved pest control companies only)
Any Pest control company can install these for about $500 (200 linear ft), the spikes are placed about 10ft apart. Every 6 months maintenance is done.
Should be ckecked at minimum of quarterly inspection
Aye man appreciate the videos! I live in a new build community here in South Carolina. Our builder provides us a year free with the Senricon. So I have quite a bit of these pods around the house. The year has passed and I have checked the pods. I have only found a few that have been active. My question is where do I get the refills? I can’t seem to find a solid place to grab them.
Do you have any idea I would love to know thanks man !
Good job man
Where did you got the system, im trying to buy some for my house
It seems they are only available commercially at this time..
I had a two year contract for termite bait and monitor for a new home “just in case”. with no termite indications so far I ended the contract and now I am trying Spectricide’s terminate in the sentricon stations they left behind, a lot cheaper than $30+ per month….. still wonder if the perimeter injection in the long run is a better option even if only as a preventative measure??
I put down some Taurus SC personally. Didn’t make a video but it’s a concentrate, mixed into 5 gallon bucket and poured around the home after making a small trench all the way around. (6”x6”) or so. I’m pretty sure it’s good for 10 years
Hi Wes. I watched both of your Sentricon-related videos. Thank you so much for posting these. I have a Sentricon system at my home in Washington, DC. The company "servicing" these has changed hands a couple of times, so now the quarterly service is laughable. I am going to order the auger bit as I have a couple more bait stations to install as the servicing company no longer equips their technicians with an auger bit to plant the stations. Question: What length auger bit do you recommend? I'm considering one that's either 16"x2" or 32" x 2". Again, your videos are much appreciated.
Hey sorry for the late responses. I don’t have mine right in front of me but I did use it again the other day to relocate a couple of stations. It’s defiantly not 32”. More like 12 or 16”. The stations aren’t that long so the 16” would be better in my opinion.
Every one of those stations was either too wet or moldy that detours feeding that is why there is a monitoring guide if you look it up it will tell you how often you should check your stations depending on what species of termites you have but in general they should be checked about every 4 to 6 weeks
Mold and wetness do not affect sentricon. The knarlier the better for termites.
Hi, Do baits need to be replaced yearly even no activity found?
As long as they are still solid their good to go. No real expiration date. Just do your best to keep them from sitting in ponding water would be my suggestion..
Where do you purchase your new bait station sticks? Pest control wants to charge me $400 to come look at them.
I’d rather do it myself if I can find the bait sticks.
Yellow pine 1x6 cut into strips from home depot
Where can I buy refill baits for this system?
I bought mine off eBay
Where would you purchace the bait core to replace them?
They are not available for direct purchase at this time unfortunately.. they are being reserved for licensed pest control companies
Yellow pine cut into strips from home depot
I got a box for $180. Braman said I had activity still. Only needed 24. So I kept others. Used their holes. No activity. Their lying to me.
Interesting.. I would maybe just try to keep them near wood sources and any station that had previous activity for now. It may take some time for them to return to a particular
Station.. but who knows, maybe they were lying. It’s still good insurance to have!
Thanks for the video. Does this bait stations kill dry wood termites?
It should kill any termite as it inhibits their ability to molt.
No becayse dry wood termites don't go outside to the ground, their colony is always inside the house. They are hard to treat, fumigation is usually the only way.
No drywoods don't live in the soil
No. because drywoods don't live underground
@@WesleyAllenNCbut the drywoods won't get into the station so the answer is no
Updates? They chew on the new one yet?
I found another their working on. Supposedly takes up to 90 days to kill the colony so I’m letting them go until it’s time to recheck. I’ll post a video soon
@@WesleyAllenNC okay awesome thanks for the reply and can't wait to see the update!
Hercules!
He’s a good one! My other guy passed away about ago unfortunately :/
Where to buy sentricon?
Hmu!
DO NOT CHANGE THAT EATEN BAIT. Only replace if the bottom purple circle 🟣 is bigger than the bait stick.
Does it expire? What is the shelllife?
Last until it gets fed on. Always active
Every 6 months, Sentricon certified techs come out and check and replace if necessary,, maintenance is $360/yr
Ive been a licenced pest controller for 30 years. Do not remove the bait. Just look down you will clearly see activity.
If a bait is active do not touch it.
Some Coptotermes species just take of you disturb them.
If you find an active one put another near by within 12 inches.
Even if you steal one from somwhere else.
Alway put them near paving subject to radiant heat from the sun in winter.
Never in soggy or dry soil. Also inspect all trees within 100 feet of the affected building. Prioratise treating active trees and stump.
Can we just pour boric acid inside the bait station if we see activity?
@@154gwhy would you want to keep the bait from working by doing that
@@michaelmerck7576 o think bori acid kills em
Where did you get the sentricon's ? Is the alternative just as effective? Do you think I could put those baits from the spectracide into my sentricon units? ( dont care about the popups ) I tried to buy some from them and not only do I need to be certified / licensed by the state of SC .. but also sentricon says I have to be certified by them to buy them and if I buy theirs on the internet then they are illegal stolen products from managers or installers that went rogue .. wtf are we playing The Division 2 here ? lmao ... this isnt rocket science ...
EMAIL QUOTE: So, you are aware, if you purchase Sentricon from the internet (i.e., eBay), that is stolen product from a manager or technician that has gone rouge within their company, and they are selling it illegally.
To install and service Sentricon, the pest control company must be a Certified Sentricon Specialist (CSS). I manage Sentricon for the state of SC and Rocket is a CSS. This is not a DIY project product. It is to be installed, serviced, and maintained by a professional company.
Clemson Regulatory maintains records of pest control company licenses, etc. and manages the products used within our state. Thank you. UNQUOTE
Name left out ..
And then theres this, speaking of illegal : Code Section South Carolina Code Title 39: Trade & Commerce, Chapter 3: Trust, Monopolies, and Restraints of Trade
www.scstatehouse.gov/code/t39c003.php
The three major federal antitrust laws are the Sherman Antitrust Act, the Clayton Act, and the Federal Trade Commission Act. These laws protect consumers from businesses reducing or eliminating competition, fixing prices to ensure large profits, boycotting within an industry to prevent new competitors, bid rigging for contracts, and creating monopolies by excluded others.
Where do you purchase them?
@@WesleyAllenNC got done ty. Not $200 like you but $240 isn't bad
Is it legal to install them by yourself?
You can install them yourself but won't probably get the $1million warranty that Sentricon provides
I know a guy who installed these and peeled one of the stickers off the bait stations and got 5 years in prison.
@@Rocket9944I know a guy that recorded an NFL game without the consent of the NFL and is still in federal prison. Cousin Jeffrey we miss you
Do not put the bait from one station in another. Should you have more than one colony the termites won't mix. They will avoid ea other and just simply go around the stations from what I was told. Nice video though
The guy who invented Sentricon: ua-cam.com/video/EWgL_yN22_M/v-deo.html
We haven’t learned anything from this video. The only thing that we saw is that one of the stations looked like it was eaten, but we don’t know if the colony has been destroyed, which is the the point, so what are we actually gaining from this other than the fact that you have a termite colony somewhere on your property, which you obviously already knew that that’s why you installed the system, so what are we learning have they been destroyed and if you’re not checking them more often if you’re waiting a whole year and obviously the beat stick has been used up so they’re not gonna be present there so waiting a whole year I don’t think it’s a fact if you need to be checking them and swapping them out more often

This prove these bait stations aren’t very effective.
You are correct the moisture level in all the stations is way too high probably the only reason the one termite station had a hit is because he had wood stacked up against the structure on the bear soil
Incorrect I work as a professional technician in termite control. Termite blindly forage and just because you don’t have hits or “termites eating baits” doesn’t mean they are not working.
I checked stations after heavy rain found water in them and termites floating on top came back 3 months later and live activity with 40% eaten. He shouldn't have replaced the hit station but put it back and return in thirty days to follow it up. It is possible that it was a small young colony and it's reduced maybe even eliminated.
And the dept of agriculture states it takes up to 2 years for them to even work.😢 waste of 💰
I agree that's why I found live term working T E R M I T E S under a rock next to the garage and missed every sentricon station, a year later the termites did 30000 dollars in damage ,that was the day I stopped believing in SENTRICON or any baiting system but will only endorse a liquid treatment with either Termidor or Taurus to treat termites
