The gain was set at 1/4, no bass boost used.
Pre-outs on a head unit have more power than headphone outs on phones.
When I say I'm going to turn up the the gain on the amp, it went up to just under half. Yeah so it's kinda obvious they're getting nowhere near 7k.
Personally, I don't think they did too badly.

I plan on hooking up 3 more subwoofers to my 4 sub's, Will the extra cone area give me more extention in the lower frequencies? the 4 subwoofers made a night and day difference in output compared to just 2 when it comes to low frequency like 10hz and 30hz so I wonder what adding 3 more would do

you said in the description that you understand the speaker isn't actually getting 7kW for certain reasons, but you didn't mention that the speaker is 4 ohms and the amp probably puts out max power at 2 ohms or even 1 if it's stable

Can you blow some speakers in a sealed box and a ported one for us please? I want to know how different that is.
I would have been more interested in results if only the frequencies that that speaker would have been used for were played through it. I mean it was pretty obvious what was going to happen when there's enhanced low frequencies. Both mechanical and electrical limits were going to be exceeded there. But playing only say, 120 HZ or so and up through I'm sure would still fail, but maybe not quite as quickly.
