- Grand Central Madison is now open! The new LIRR service to Manhattan’s east side is the most transformative change to Long Island Rail Road service in over a century. Part of the East Side Access project, the new terminal started construction in 2008 and opened on January 25, 2023. We are here to check out the new Long Island Railroad service in Grand Central and maybe stop for some Chick-fil-a for lunch!

Today, for the first time, I took the LIRR in and out of Grand Central. The escalator down was dangerous. It was my first and last time on that amusement ride. Next week I will return, but will take the street level elevator on Madison and Vanderbilt Ave. Anything beats Penn Station. Love your videos!!!

Construction started in the 60s and they abandon the project until 1998. Then in 2008 they started to build again.
What a massive installation! 150 feet, just a couple feet taller than Wildcat’s Revenge will stand at Hersheypark when construction is complete this summer. That ain’t nothing! Going up is always worse than going down on a coaster, too. “It smells new” 😂 as a former New Jerseyan, I speak from experience when I say that smell will not last long - enjoy it while you can! Alicia Keys being immortalized in the marble is pretty dope 🎶 Great video! Only a matter of time until we wind up having to cross through this exchange, so it’s good to get the lay of the land! Also, Chic-fil-a fries rule 🤙🏻

When they don't need those 12 ventilation bluish green doors with Grand Central Madison on them anymore they should do a silent auction. The winners could have them installed in their homes as a great conversation piece. Wouldn't that be cool?

@The Krystal Palace Or anywhere else in grand central Madison. If you missed the train or arrive too early. You have to stand up until the train comes.
1) You wouldn't have to wait on the platform because by the time they announce your train's track, it will already be there waiting for you
2) Any seating in a terminal like this will just be taken up by bums / heroin junkies
It was very smart of them to not put a single seat anywhere in the terminal.

Hey Ellie! If you have early park admission you can get in the park at 8am which is the best way to get on Hagrid's!

Historical, indeed. It took 50 years and way over budget with a price tag of $11.1 billion. And all messed up schedules of other LIRR trains. Hopefully the homeless will not occupy it soon like they are doing with all subway stations.

Just FYI, about your police comment, I don't think it has even been a month since NYPD was filmed letting Proud Boys get into the subway without paying and in the same video, asking a journalist to pay and lets not forget the recent events in TN, and another recent of a New York police officer stalking a woman going to her gym at night. I love your theme park and travel content but keep in mind the same police you seem to like would not hesitate to attack you if you weren't white or if you were white but dared to criticize them or even ask for the most minor reforms.
